"As A Brexiteer, I see This As A Ploy By The EU" | Ben Habib On EU Plans For Visa's For Under 30's

  • The EU has proposed a plan to enhance youth mobility post-Brexit, allowing Britons under 30 to live and work in Europe for up to four years.
The European Commission aims to negotiate a new agreement with the UK to establish a "right" for young people on both sides to travel abroad for extended periods.
According to the proposal, individuals aged 18 to 30 could obtain a new visa enabling them to travel to any EU country for work, study, or volunteering.
Currently, Britons seeking to stay longer than 90 days must navigate a complex visa application process that varies by country.
Additionally, Brussels aims to implement new regulations to enable EU students to study at British universities without paying international fees, receiving equal treatment to British students.
Nick De Bois speaks with Reform UK's deputy leader, Ben Habib.

The UK has rejected a EU offer that would make it easier for people aged between 18 and 30 to study and work abroad in the wake of Brexit.
The European Commission had said the deal would be a limited arrangement, not a restoration of free movement.
But No 10 has rejected the offer, stating "free movement within the EU was ended".
The UK already runs schemes with some non-EU countries to allow people to come to the UK for up to two years.
It says it is open to extending that to individual EU member countries, rather than throughout the EU.
"We are not introducing an EU-wide youth mobility scheme - free movement within the EU was ended and there are no plans to introduce it," a government spokesperson said on Friday evening.
Downing Street said it prefers country-by-country deals to an agreement that would apply across all 27 member states.
And Labour has said it has "no plans for a youth mobility scheme" if it wins the general election later this year.

    • @artistreality
      @artistreality Před měsícem

Even a skilled foreign workforce coming into the UK, is all about keeping wages lower and even more importantly not spending more in poor areas on education. Example, as a government I can either layout a plan to push a major educational drive in poor areas to produce a generation of highly skilled technicians, now that sounds great BUT I would then need to build better schools in the area, train better teachers, so that from the moment the children go to school, they have the best opportunity given to them. I then would then have to do the same with secondary schools in the area also. Make sure they have free college and university, because remember these are the future generation of technicians I'm planning on producing and they all come from poor families. Or I can sit on my high horse, say how wonderful immigration is and diversity, then leave these areas to suffer in a continuous cycle of generational poverty and enjoy the fruits of cheap foreign labour. That's why the elites love immigration. Hence why in the NHS or care homes its always the same rhetoric of pushing for foreign staff. Until we have zero immigration and start investing in our own children, the cycle will continue.

For all their faults (and they are only human!), the EC and then the EU have done a great job of bringing 27 nations together in a powerful trading bloc that ensures war between member states will never happen again. If many between the ages of 50 and 70 were responsible for voting to leave the EU, you will find that those who remember the dark days of WW2 uphold the principles of the EU. Those I have spoken to who fought in WW2 see the benefits of the EU in this regard. Those who fail to heed the lessons of history are destined to repeat the same mistakes!

"Not one of trust and mutual respect" Hah! That was engendered by the childish, foot stamping, toys out of pram behaviour of Farage, Johnson and Frost amongst others during the whole sorry Brexit episode. In contrast, Michel Barnier and his colleagues behaved in a wholly respectful and professional manner compared to the bunch of ideological fuelled clowns on the British side.

Lazy means to boost productivity, secondly it's never ever mentioned that wages are suppressed by mass immigration, nor the fact there's a geographical mismatch, you have job in the south but few out of work, few jobs in the north andany out of work.
Then you have folk whinge that people should Simply move, good idea on paper, the issue then comes when those people who have moved wnat to settke down and have a family, their network of free childcare ala grandparents are elsewhere in the country while the cpuple are in amother area, meaning the state is then expected to cover at least partial cost of childcare. Then there's the issue of people off sick because they're stck on waiting lists, for physical illness not mental health issues, actual physical health problems, like folk who have joints riddled with arthritis, who are in agony see decreased mobility and have been wisitng since pre civid for their joint to be replaced.
This is not a siple fix, the idea importing more labour will sirt this is for the birds!
