  • Velcro Compression Wraps are a version of compression garments and are used to help reduce swelling or for lymphedema treatment. Velcro compression wraps are used in a similar way as compression stockings are, but tend to be easier to get on and off for some. There are a significant number of different types, fabrics, and fittings on the market, and it can be overwhelming. As a Certified Lymphedema physical therapist, I go through some of the best brands and styles of night-time compression garments out there right now and share who they would each be best for.

Living in a tropical location, having experienced Juzo stockings, I needed something more appropriate for coolness as well as durability. Replacing stockings every 6 months was not in the budget! The Circaid juxtalite leg wrap has been a good option for me. I've acquired extra liner socks so one can be rinsed at night and I have a second ready for the next day. I appreciate the applied pressure items shown in another video for ankles and top of the foot. Thanks very much.

What was the applied pressure items for the top of your feet .This is all very knew to me also and I'd twisted both ankles a few years back and wondered if it had started some of my problems .But my hardest thing is folk telling me to get off my feet (but my leg swollen is just as bad setting because having my knees bent cuts off the blood flow to the lower legs .I hear exercise but yet I've lost so much strength that walking to the bathroom is very hard .My knees are bone on bone with arthritis holding them togather is what the orthopedic doctor told me he done one injection which helped the worst sided for two weeks but it seems to have more tension on it then before plus we can't inject them but maybe twice a year...with both knees needing done pn top of these lymphedema in both legs.I'm larger then ever at 300 lbs at 5'4" I'm very uncoverable and very much needing help .My PCP just keeps telling me to loose wieght but My body requires a everyday exercise routine I've always all my life had lower body wieght for my age group so I known I need to be active but its such a struggle now more then ever I can't find shoes to even fit my swollen feet. Please Please help me I'm not a quieter type person but this is really nessing with my head I do try hard but even the lymphedema message therapist has told me she'd done all she could to help me..So where too start from now I also have a impacked spine from a young 21 yr old diving into a swimming pool but I've only had one surgery C5& C6 did rupture after I lost 50 lbs at age 30.We do know I have degenerative disc disease with no fluids in the right sided of my spine it seeped out. But I've no problems with my neck but once or twice a year as weather fronts change but normal muscle relaxers w/ neck excise will help clear the spasms and pitches right up.although we do know my spine has still gotten some tight disc compacted the surgeons adviced me surgery wouldn't be able to fix all my problems so until we have no other option at all I've opt out of them cutting on my spine were my neck is compacted straight and so very tight from what the surgeon adviced me he didn't even replace the two disc which they'd shiftsd into cutting s nerve aftsr 9yrs and only because of my weight loss of fifty lbs sense I'd drove into the wall at 21 without no problems not even a pain til my 30th birthday and I was working out hard ...Any way what could I do from here?

Recently switched from Juxtafit HD to short-stretch bandages for lower leg edema. Coverage is better because you can start at the foot and go all the way up to the knee or even higher. No more feet swelling or tournequet effect. Using 10cm x 10 yards. Don't skimp on length. You will use it all.

I have used traditional compression stockings for years. Their life span is short. A particulate problem is sliding down my calves, rolling at the top creating “tourniquet” effect. Creasing at the ankle. Recently a clinic prescribed Sigvaris CompreFlex. They work so much better. Stay put Are easily washed. I’m happy.

Thanks for your videos. Is the juxta lite breathable? I seen the coolflex and I have full body lymphedema so I need lots of pieces. And the coolflex is expensive juxta lite is half the price. But I overheat a lot. So in your opinion would the juxta lite be an option for me also? I am also on the fence about the IPC and buying one. I went to therapy and it pulled off a lot. But I can do that with massage and exercise. And use the money towards Velcro compressions. I am currently wrapping w short stretch. But they are just hot and bulky. It does work but when I drain they bulge up and it's not comfortable. Without full time compression I just fill up again. Sry for lengthy questions. It's just a lot of money we don't have. Wanna get something I will comply with 23 hrs a day. Like marriage I want it to be a great fit. Thank you again.

Circaid has a new line of Juxta products with silver embedded, sort of like Aquacel AG, and they say it is designed to be cooler. Unfortunately much more expensive.
Also, I read somewhere that the Juxta wraps last about 6 months to a year. I've been using mine longer.
If you get gunk/lint in the velcro I've found a pin brush, they type used for dog grooming, works well to clean them out.
My LPT said that the Juxta Light wasn't as effective as the thicker Juxta gear. Of course, which is the only one covered by insurance? They don't even make a Juxta Light (Lite?) big enough to fit my leg and I, nor my doctor at the Wound Clinic I go to could get them to cover for the JuxtaFit or Reduction Kit.
Maybe that would make a good video, insurance. Interview someone with knowledge that might help people get better coverage or the best way to get approval for something they don't usually cover, like in my case a Reduction Kit. Even if they only covered 1/2 of the cost it would be a big help.

I have been using Juxtalite Circaid Compression wraps for about 3 months on both legs. If you have someone who can wrap them well enough for you, they will stay put until the swelling goes down, and then they tend to fall at that point. I can usually pull them back up, but I need help adjusting them because I can not reach, as you mentioned in your video. It also takes another person a little time to learn how to put these on the patient and to adjust the straps. I watch nurses do this in seconds but not my family.

Here is my question: Do you have any opinions on the use of (a) pneumatic pumps and (b) whole body vibration devices for treatment of lower body lymphedema? Hi, I'm not sure if you can help me, but I'm hoping so! I'm beyond frustrated trying to figure this out. So, I have phlebolymphedema and have had it now for around 5 or 6 years...so, I wanted to try the ready wrap bc I've got some problems trying to pull the dynamic Juzo knee highs on anymore so I need another option. I bought the ready wrap and it's super easy to put on, but the problem is no matter what I do as far as tightening them whether I try more pressure or less to close them I end up all up and down my lef with like pockets of fluid/fat all the way around my leg....it's almost like it seems that every other strap was too tight and forced or held the fluid trapped there. I hope u can help me to solve this bc I really need to wear these. Tysm

I literally never heard of lymphedema until last week. I've been going to PT for a possibly related issue for 3 months and to my primary provider for swollen ankles, calves, feet for over 2 years. Been put on water pills twice, but they never seem to work (I also have low BP and don't each much processed food). Last week I mentioned something to my PT guy about the swelling and also a couple of recent sores... he took one look and referred me to the lymphedema PT crew. Appointment later this week and I feel I might actually start getting somewhere. I've been reading up on this so I'll be ready if they think that's what's ailing me! I've had a reoccurring lymphedema wound on my leg for years now. The doctors treat it with antibiotics and it heals nearly 100% but it always comes back. Very disheartening.
I was going through ABD pads by the case load, sometimes using six 8x10'" pads on my leg wound. (3 layers) but then discovered KerraMax which is so much better and soaks up exudate better than anything else I've tried. Alas, more expensive too.

Helpful, generally, but it would have been nice to see you actually put it on to see how difficult it is to put it on

I have lymphedema of the right arm after mastectomy in 1995. No chemo or radiation radiation.

It would be more helpful if she actually put the garments on. What is not mentioned is that that the velcro straps are difficult to pull by yourself. It really takes another person to pull the straps for you so you can get adequate compression throughout the limb.

I needed to see the Farrow wraps. You lost me. You should have had leg models for all patients to chose from and to see how they worked. Legs have to be measured to see what size is needed. My one leg is a little larger than the other. I didn’t know some wraps already have a built in sleeve. But the legs still have to be measured to see if the Velcro strips are long enough to wrap around. Hope you can understand what I said. Am very discussed at this time.
