I watched this documentary on a guy who's dad use to be the king of baseball cards in the 80s. His son had been out of baseball cards for a long time and was floored that his junk wax boxes were worth about 100 bucks total. He couldn't believe it. At the time, everyone thought their cards would be like the 50s cards. They could retire on them. It was the Junk Wax era. Now we are in a different era. The PSA 10 junk era. Everyone is hyper inflating cards because they think PSA grades will be good investments in the future. Now millions of people are flooding PSA with cards. I see videos with 200+ submissions. A PSA 10 is becoming overly saturated in the market. Just like everything that gets oversaturated, things can lose their value. Just like someone thought their Canseco rookie would be worth 100s of thousands some day, someone thinks their PSA 10 will be worth hundreds of thousands some day. The problem in every year, another million PSA grades enter the market and there's only so many card collectors. Eventually, like the Junk Wax, PSA slabs will be over produced and will have less of an impact. Maybe I'm wrong, but we are for sure living in PSA hype right now where a PSA 10 can be 10,000 and a PSA 9 be worth 2,000 because we think it's so unique to have the 10. Once it's drowned out by countless other 10s, the hype will dwindle. Would be a good feature for you to tackle.
The whole point is for the grading companies to earn a living while DOPES in denial who fancy themselves "collectors", "hobbyists", "investors" but are actually GAMBLERS and sometimes hoarders line their pockets. And im sure the graders have a lower opinion of their customers than strippers do.
Its just sports gambling.

You can throw it in the trash and make it even more rare, thereby elevating the value of the REST that still exists!

EXACTLY ✅. It’s ridiculously stupid to think the SCI folks would show the actual “legit” top-5 selling cards….. it looks like their pumping up fools for the next Prizm release = THAT HAS A WEAK DRAFT CLASS and will be extremely HARD for them to sell that product at the stupid prices they do now.
And this T-pot guy ABSOLUTELY lost me last week when he made the comment “luka was clearly the best player in the finals”…….. dude is the size of a house now, plays almost ZERO defense and is possibly one of the slowest “white-boys” playing BB, I’ve ever seen 🙄

mikal bridges is a ROLE PLAYER, for brooklyn he was very passive as a scorer on a team that DESPERATELY needed offense and ranked near last in everything.
There is 0 way his cards should be high and trend high. He also has 0 allstar appearances, 0 marketability, and is already midway through his career. He is a great person and player but this just shows the complete lack of awareness in card buying/selling today. keep scalping without knowing anything yall!

Even if they were telling you to do it, which they aren’t, it’s not that bad of a play to have been picking up bronny cards knowing he’s 100 percent going to be some what hot because he is Lebrons kid. There is more context than him just being a 4 ppg, he’s the son of the 2nd best player of all time and they are on the same team and the media specifically ESPN will be all over them this next season.
