I saw so many Champ Fan Lists who include Kukui, and Tali, who serve as Champ, but are only Challengers, but the same Lists ignored him.

Oh for sure. There are plenty of implications throughout the games but it's mainly the fact that Ghetsis refers to N as "The freak without a human heart." Such a great character.

Lorewise, it makes sense why N doesn't really have the best or most well trained pokemon. He detests battling and probably didn't want to to invest too much time into making a team. Most of the Pokemon he has are probably more like sentimental companions than anything else.

@@convoluted898 you do realise that in lore, box legendaries are the most powerful Pokemon of that region. It was literally stated in the game the only way to get toe to toe with N is to get other counterpart. That's why game forces you to catch the other legendary before batting N. While it's not true in practice, that's what game lore logic is suggesting. So it makes perfect sense for N to defeat everyone and then defeat the champion with the power of legendary.

@@convoluted898 I really don't think you paid attention to the story then. In the charge stone cave, N actually said something about it and juniper (the professor), rightfully pointed out the error of his thinking. The story actually present N as a flawed, misunderstood and tragic character. He was wrong in thinking that way and by the 6th (flying) gym is actually thinking whether, what he's doing is even the right thing or not. And that's why N encourages the protagonist to go and look for the other legendary and then battle him.
Fun Fact: Ghetsis Hydreigon has a move for every member of N's team... even the box legends. This shows that he had a lease on N even if he was the "king" of unova.

I believe the team is based on the fact that those N pokemon are "Rare" pokémon.
- Reshiram and Zekrom are legendaries
- Zoroark is a rare pokémon, as it was also assumed to be legendary or, at the very least, mysterious.
- Archeops and carracosta are two fossil pokemon of the region
- Klinklang and Vannilux, as not rare, are unobtainable in nature, and it is aimed to have them in the form of Klink and Vannilite
Therefore, the N team is beautiful as a concept. However, it is too weak to fighting moves.
Literally all but 1 of the set 5 is weak to fighting, and that one doesnt resist it
Zekrom and Reshiram don't resist fighting, nor are weak to it. But the same applies to archeops, rock/flying means it is neutral.@@SuperSayianWarrior
Technically you can get a wild klinklang in the p2 laboratory in bw2 and maybe a vanilluxe in giant chasm if you use shaking grass
i think it would be fun to give him a gothitelle or reuniclus. they are not the greatest of pokemon but it would help a bit.
God ghetsis was always the true nightmare for me that team is pretty well rounded and has one of the strongest pokemon on his team at an illegal level lol
Still wished zweilous didnt evolve at such a high level and was available was such a cool pokemon evolution line, and would of loved using it in black and whites main story.

No, game, I refuse to accept Braviary should evolve 4 levels after the cap of the elite 4 when its stats are worse than freaking Gardevoir!
@@WiiMote070 I liked gen 5 as a region itself, but the evolution levels on some pokemon for how trivial some of their stats are is just crazy.
@@calebstearns5571 I'm a massive fan of the presentation and QOL improvements in the games but yeah, some of those levels are just annoying, pretty discouraging, really. And considering Excadrill exists in that very generation, they really had no excuse either...
They wanted N to seem like a mirror of us, using pokemon that were cute and memorable but not particularly strong
N is meant to challenge our morality and upset the player when we see his similarities with our own resolves
I think they had to think with a Box Art Legendary we cannot give N any more insane Pokémon.

Yes, N's team is lackluster, but as someone else stated lorewise, that's part of the point. My personal headcanon is N was purposefully using "underwhelming" or "overshadowed" [possibly abandoned] pokemon, because hardly anyone else cares to use them. There's always a pokemon with a better ability, better stat spread, better typing, better synergy than any one pokemon on his team. Despite this, he doesn't abandon them for the "better" options; he works with them for what they are.
In a way, I resonate with him on such a line of thinking because many of my favorite pokemon are NOT viable in the meta battle scene (especially not now), but I still try to find ways to incorporate them into teams because I think they're pretty/fun/cute/funny/cute. Plus, part of the joy of being a pokemon trainer for me, is that you can have the exact same team as your opponent and have WILDLY different battles. YOU are an important part of your pokemon team too! The shots you call and when, MATTER.

N absolutely is a league champion. He defeated the elite four and the champion, so he became the new champion. It's that's simple.

So what if N wasn't recorded? All it means is he wasn't officially recognized as Unova champion, but that doesn't change the fact that he passed all the requirements to become one.

I feel like N gets shafted team wise because you have to fight his dad right after him if he was the true final boss I think they would have made his team better

Carracosta is actually terrifying... or at least could be. If he had shell smash on it then carracosta would be far scarier to your average main game team thanls to sturdy + being able to hit almost everything neutrally via aqua jet/waterfall, crunch, and stone edge.
ghetsis team however is a champion level with a twist🤣
N was the hardest champ I ever faced.
For what ever reason in Pokemon White I was constantly underleveled.
they tried to force people to not overgrind, so exp tended to get slow when approaching the levels of each gym. but if you looked for Audino you should have been very fine. probably the easiest to grind despite the curve.

@@slamgaming32 and what about Cynthia and other champions having a ton of teams across games? Her BW or 2 team might be her best. Alder has a better one in the PWT, as do some others in other facilities.

I stand by my theory that, since n hates fighting, his team is mostly sentimental companions.
Instead of having changing his tea. They should really give him something only the player has. Friendship stats. Any status affects have a 25% of wearing off and more likely to miss attacks aimed at him. That would truly show that n was worthy of a champion roel. It would also make for a Intresting final fight

I'm pretty confident that Ghetsis is the hardest fight next to OG Cynthia. That motherfucker's Hydregion was ruthless. I had to go back and power level my Vaniuxe to cope 😅

I thought his team was the opposite of his dads team? Because his team always felt like how ash’s teams were. they’re more of a companion team with the added bonus of a legendary dragon as his tank.
I agree with a lot of the comments that I’d he was the true final boss his team would be much different.
His dad was the first time I loss in a Pokémon run through I even beat Cynthia first try.

I think that he manage to beat all the elite 4 and the champion with only Reshiram/Zekrom
N has so many teams include various pokemon and weather teams, I think it's gamefreak decisions to let his sets and team to be in mid tiers. N known to use various pokemon depends on the route. he possibly could make a stronger team with darmanitan and ferrothorn
Darmanitan would be poetic, as it's one of 3 of his Pokémon (the others being Zorua and Woobat) that only show up in the intro before being obtainable in B2W2. It's also special for having Zen Mode, giving him a Psychic-Type.
Have it replace Vanilluxe to remove one of his 4 Fighting weakness while keeping his entire Team weak to Ghetsis' Hydreigon (now to Surf, which before was just for Archeops).
Sure, if he has Reshiram it gives him a second Fire-Type, but he already has 2 Rock-Types from the Fossils, so it's fine.

Since no one run Ferro in the game so does Darm. He could run mandibuzz/braviary for fossils spot too since none run them in BW1. Archeops is fine but 2 fossils is basically Steven stone again and copied by diantha line up too. Both birds and fossils could be versions exclusive

Ghetsis' Hydreigon would no longer have Fire Blast and instead have Charge Beam (or just general access to Thunder) to keep it having a super effective move against N's entire Team.
N has Reshiram, KyuremBlack, Zekrom, and Sigilyph, and a Zoroark in Pokemon masters. He gets into one of the champion banners (for the anime) but sadly, not listed as a Champion normally.

Isnt ns team based on where you meet team plasma throughout the story? You meet them at the museum (carracosta and archeops) the cold storage (vanilluxe) dragonspiral tower (zekrom or reshiram) castelia (zoroark) and chargestone cave (klinklang).
Unova have lots of strong Pokémon yeah, but they left most for Ghetsis that is literally the counter of N
I mean, the player becomes champion after beating the current champion, so the only thing stopping N is his team was not put in the hall of fame.

I like how a lot of peolle are pointing out the lore, and going say it now, you guys are right because n doesnt have an offical team, if you look at his actual pokemon per encounter, he always has different pokemons based off the zome you fight him in, and its because he releases all of his Pokemon's after that area. In black and white 2 you can even capture n pokemon who have max friendship showing one he cares for his Pokemon and 2 hes right he doesnt like keeping pokemon in pokeballs and values freedom

It’s true! In some of the dialogue, the elite 4 members indicate he came through right before you did (Grimsley mentions N by name if you fight him last out of the 4, I believe)
