I own this and have bought two as gifts. It is easily my favorite work blade and I use it almost every day when clearing brush from my various properties. Its real strength is its ability to chop. I like it better than a hatchet.

Mine has a tiny nick in the same exact spot. Maybe it has something to do with their heat treating process. Overall, a lifelong companion that will never fail you. (I did stick it in the ground to stop a downhill slide into a gorge however) It hit a rock and saved me from getting hurt. Overall, I'm very grateful for K-bar's construction of this blade. It can truly do it all, and it's a very smart and creative take on traditional kukris.

    Yes.
    This is the situation.
With the cheap blades you get in general A LOT more for your money, than with the expensive ones.
I admit.I like expensive blades, but my last 2 knives disappointed me totally because of what exactly I am getting for my money.
So if ,,you" consider of buying an expensive blade online,my advice:
    DON'T DO IT !
If you don't have the option to check the blade personally,go with something cheaper like
    Ja-Bar,Shrade,Cold Steel,Condor.
    And NICE review 👍👍👍

I've wanted this one for a while, just ordered it from Amazon. I live close to SMKW in TN, but their prices are usually a bit higher. I did notice that their price on the ESEE Junglas was a bit cheaper than Amazon, so that might be my next splurge. I've toggled back & forth between the Junglas & the Ontario RTAK 2, but it seems like either one is a good knife. Recently ordered a Cold Steel kukri machete (really regretting it now) but the blade is almost paper thin. No way could it stand up to what you just did with the Kabar. Thanks for this review, makes me glad that I got one.

Anything Kabar makes is top notch. I have both sizes of their USMC knives (and my daily carry is a Kabar folder), but the larger USMC knife is unwieldy and seemingly pointless for me to carry... But I want at least two kabars in my BOB, and I kinda wanted to add a machete to my kit... But I didn't wanna add the weight.
After this review, I think you've just helped me solve both of those problems. Thank you.

I have a tri-hone or whatever it's called sharpener that's perfect for smaller knives or kitchen knives, but want something to sharpen my larger blades like this one. Do you have any recommendations of a larger (non-field carry) type stone or similar? Thanks for any replies!

Oh and like you said, I too noticed the alignment with straight wrist for both striking and especially thrusting should one need it for self defense. I've got 5 black belts in various martial arts, mostly Kung Fu and a good amount in Thai Boxing but I trained wig burner ours weapons since I was 8 years old. I really loved the alignment for thrusting with this blade. It's really dead on. Not that it's my normal defense weapon in any way, because if in that situation, thrusting is always almost always more effective and this has it. I was also surprised at how well this held its edge and didn't chip or dull after some heavy testing too. Thanks for the review!

I ordered a Battle Horse Attitude, But I'm having a slight curve, blade thin down from 3/16th's" to 5/32nd" and a High Scandi Grind and White Handle with a Blue Liner. Now it will match my White Handle Himalayan Imports M-43 Khukuri, My other has Black Buffalo Horn and it's biggee, but it's easier for me to match knives to it. Infact I took the Big Boy out with my Bokor Magnum Series Vox Collection 2011 and for my finer work, I had my Vintage Myerchin Pocket Knife with the Marlin Spike which is great to untangle paracord. Both knives are in the 440c. This was also a nice matching set and they complimented eachother and worked out great. Boy Bokor does a good job with their 440c. Yup me too, Imagine a Kukuri/BK-9 WoW, I could pair it with my BK-2 finally and my BK-16, or my BK-5 and the BK-15, although after I put a convex grind on my Work Sharp the BK-4 Machaxe is a decent chopper now too.

Save me some time. What is the best Kukri 100-150$?
Wonder why NO 3v kukri exist

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  Před 8 lety

+BOOSTEDLASER That is hard to say, since most kukris that aren't from Nepal are more like a machete with a kukri shape. Most people will be happy with the Cold Steel here (though slightly above the price range): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006YBWOZS?keywords=cold%20steel%20kukri&qid=1456567704&ref_=sr_1_4&sr=8-4

Say Heah, You know Ka-Bar came out with a Reinhart Becker Ka-Bar Kukuri, The BK-21, So far the reviews are great. It's high on my wanna, wanna list. I just pulled the trigger on a Battle Horse Attitude. It's a 5 3/8ths" Blade which I like for my Bush Craft/Survival Knife, I also had it thinned down to 5/32nd" thick and I'm having it made with a High Scandi Grind, I never had a White handle knife, except for my Himalayan Imports M-43 Khukuri, Now I'm having a White Bone Handle put on my new Attitude so now I'll also have a very nice set for the bush which is also my hobby. All I need is to add my Wicked Tough Saw and blip, blap, blam, and away you we gooooo into the wild green yonder of bush craft.

OK Israel, $64,00.00 qyestion, O.K.C. Gen2 SP-53 or this Ka-Bar Kukuri Machete. Oh by the way I got a Cold Steel Kukuri Plus in O-1 and that's not bad either. But as far as a Beast Khukuri my H.I. M-43 is a geat chopper but heavy to carry on person all day long, so I had a smaller one made, it's 10" X 7m/m.
