What Gerald said. Some of us are starting and look to the "pros" for guidance. Looks great, though!

Hi Jabulani, Those wing look gossamer thin with the way you carved them. Fantastic use of colour. You replied to Gary saying you are using a new varnish. So it's your fault I have another question LOL. What varnish are you using now as I can't seem to get as good a shine on the 2 I've done so far. Cheers, Huw

Thanks for asking! Originally I bought my varnish from a small local manufacturing outfit near my home. He sold me varnish with some green tint and it would cake up quickly in the 5 litre container it came in. I struggled with it until last week when I bought some really good varnish! This thing is good. I still put several coats of the stuff on the piece to achieve the finish you see. Last week I also ran out of my MDF supply and had to buy new stock. I also noticed that the new MDF seems to be slightly darker than the previous stock. Just check my videos this week (look at the material before I apply paint) they look darker compared to the pieces of last week and before. This also maybe contributing to the appearance of the finished pieces.

Very nice job, it looks like it’s about to fly away. The finished product with the paint and the glossy finish really makes it pop.
