    Works great for a large dog's nails, seems to hold a charge long enough. czcams.com/users/postUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR I plan to use a couple of times a week, lightly, rather than have to subject the dog to longer sessions. I read that it's important to move quickly from nail to nail so it doesn't get hot, but it hasn't seemed to be much of a problem. I practiced on my own nails first (they have a strong gel, I don't know about this for natural nails), to learn how to hold it. It charges quickly enough for me and I like the variable speed. Instructions are clear, no problem putting it together or changing the tip. Might use this for some legit woodwork, even.

    Great videos! Wanted to mention, in a pinch, if someone can't find carbon paper (I live in a small town and have run across this issue..lol) you can turn your stencil over, take a #2 pencil and cover the back of your stencil (just where the lines are you want to transfer, blank space doesn't need blacked out). Cover it well with the #2 lead pencil. Then turn it back over and continue as instructed. The pencil lead layer will act as carbon paper and transfer your image.

    How can you not just love this guy? I am trying out my first steps in power carving instead of using small carving tools and i wanted to share a small trick. ( I have to save wherever I can so I can afford what I really need.) If you want to try this out, and you do not want to go out and buy copy paper, try this.... put your print on white paper you can see through a bit. Go boldly over the print lines, now flip the paper and go over the lines underneath with dark pencil. A one or 2 shot carbon backed pattern, ready to go. If you like stencil cutting and want to do more... THEN go out and get your copy paper!

    when stretching your text the way you did it, it kind of warps the shape. By pressing shift when you stretch your text, it will keep the scale of your text so it doesnt warp or look awkward :)

      Good tip!

    • @claudeuh_pena
      @claudeuh_pena Před 6 lety +6

      After clicking transform, I don’t think text is re-editable at that point. Using shift while transforming is basically doing the same thing that increasing the font size would do. It just ensures that x-height and width of each individual letter remains proportional to the original font. It doesn’t really have to do with perspective. But in this case, his word still looked good how he stretched it because it was still readable. It was just an idea for future text enlarging :)

    Using graphite paper instead of carbon paper might save you some sanding time: leftover lines can be removed with an eraser. The drawback is that it’s gray rather than black (it also exists in yellow, red and blue but I haven’t used those so I don’t know how they behave)

    Very nice video but, firstly it may not be known that you don’t need to cut the carbon paper to fit the paper, you can just use the sheet over and over again...secondly, don’t tape up the sides and two ends, if you loose your spot on what your copying you can lift the paper & carbon and double check what you’ve done, makes life a lot easier....best to tape paper & carbon in position on the wood...hope this helps 👍🏼

    Im a total newby to this kind of work but have always wanted to make this a new hobby.
    For my first project I have this brilliant plan to use a 2ft wide by 1'6" in height and almost 4" thick, half moon shaped piece of a cottonwood tree that had been cut down at the apt complex where I live.
    It was cut 9 months ago and I have kept it outside but dry, and now I can physically lift it, as most of the moisture has escaped the wood.
    I know that cottonwood is very hard. I found that out when trying, first, to use general wood carving tools. So, now I've purchased a rotary tool and also a wood burner.
    I used an electric palm sander to smooth the flat of the wood surface but I still have serious chainsaw markings streaking across the grain. I'm thinking I can work with the chainsaw gouges and smooth them down in the areas where the lettering design will be. Im only putting the word Mills on the wood with a pet paw print as the dot for the 'i'.
    So... I've never done this before and in fact, the Dremel and the wood burning tools are still in their packages from being purchased.
    Question: Even with my simple design and ambition to make this an everlasting gift to the Mgr of the apts (for Christmas I hope), will this be a do-able project?
    Good wood or bad wood? Should I use a sealer on the wood to keep it from drying out further before I finish it and stain & lacquer it?
    Any pointers would be most appreciated. I've watched a few videos to get the basic idea but have some concerns over my choice of wood, which is being used to commemorate the 100ft tall tree that was removed from the property. It was huge and beautiful. And healthy. 😳
    None of us wanted to see it cut down but the grounds owner did it anyway, so I thought I'd create something of beauty from it. Thank you for this video and Im going to keep watching more.
