    Thanks Patrick. I'm getting to all of this a little bit late in life. I've only used programs such as Final Cut, and Adobe Premier as a complete amateur, and admired others people work. I did it as a hobby, for fun and family. I started to get into Lightroom, but then ran out of time so to speak. Retired now, etc., I still want to play around with this. I did not know this software until watching this, so thanks! I did look up the pricing, and I'll probably wait awhile at least. But it was great to watch you play with it.

    0:00 I grew up tobogganing on that hill, ice skating on the ourdoor rink (not there now) and playing hockey in that Arena across the street. The style of the video is my childhood and I don't even know it.
    FilmBox is pretty powerful little tool there, I love that 16mm look. Watching digital films for so long, then going back to the older classics (35 stuff) and seeing the grain patterns is crazy to think that was normal at the time.
    Going to watch the extended for more childhood. Nice video dude!

    This plugin looks legit. I've been tinkering around with the demo version, and it makes a compelling case. It seems weird how little coverage there is on it on CZcams and elsewhere.
    I assume it's simply that they aren't flinging codes all over the place to drum up interest. I kinda respect it, because there aren't a million suspicious puff pieces about it, like you get with so many gear and software launches. I don't know where I'm going with this, but it's making me reflect on the weird state of marketing (yuck) these days.

I would mostly use it in a theater and stage enviroment, thats why i need the better low light capabilities then usual. kit lens will be rough on the S5 in low light. even with the dual ISO that f3.5/f5.6 is going to stress it out.

      I believe it depends on the codec - ProRes yes. Compressed I don’t believe so.

      yeah I wouldn't use it though because you lose all the extra little things that makeup the image in the lut

      @@impatrickt ok cool, I think I'm going to download DaVinci and give your workflow a shot with the trial version. I am also a final cut user. Do I need the paid version of DaVinci (studio) or will your work flow work with the free version of DavVinci?

    Patrick, do you edit in Resolve, or in Adobe products? I can’t imagine that you created your new CRT opening graphic in Resolve, but maybe I doubt it’s capabilities. If you don’t edit in resolve, do you know of a good workflow for those hoping to edit in Adobe Premiere/AE, but grade in Resolve?

    • @impatrickt
      @impatrickt  Před 2 lety +1

      I edit in FCP - but this was animated in after effects. my way of using resolve is not ideal and I just round trip stuff when I have to.

      When editing in FCP, do you edit the footage without adding any LUTs? Or do you edit with a temporary LUT of sorts?

    Geeezz... I'm kinda in love with Filmbox now. You sold me mon ami. PLUS I'm such a fan of that 4:3 ratio. When editing for images, are you simply copy and pasting the actual effect from one image to the other, or can you copy the adjustments, (like develop settings) ? Thank you x10
