I'm a bass guitar player. If I put my amp on the floor against a wall, I get a bigger sound, but less defined. If I elevate it and get it away from a wall the clarity improves, but I lose some boom. Most concert PA designers now fly their subs to take away any secondary effects of the room. This comes with a trade off though. They usually have to add an additional speaker or two to get the sound pressure levels to match the line arrays that are handling the mids and highs. Good video!
You said gone git. Rotflol! I have my Optimus Pro SW sitting between my Optimus STS 100s. That's the perfect spot for it in my apartment. Your advice is really helpful. Thanks.
Great video I believe it depends on the subwoofer but I have my jl audio sub in the corner sitting diagonal about 8 inches from the wall sitting on iso stands and I’m a firm believer it’s the best place for a sub. Great video and keep up the good work 👍🏽
Using REW it was an awful idea to place my sub in a corner. It gave me a giant dip and a giant uncontrollable peak. Moved it over about 2 feet and turned it 90 degrees. Almost perfectly flat. That's for my room though. Any of you having sub issues I highly recommend REW. You'll learn something new about your system/room. - PB-2000 Pro User
I wonder if lifting the subwoofer off the floor helps it breathe. On my upstairs system, I have both subs 7 inches off the floor, using cork/rubber/felt supports. On my basement subs, I am going to try large RUBBER STOPPERS from McMaster Carr, that I put felt pads on the bottom. I got great benefits upstairs (hard wood floor). I will see about the downstairs subs (ceramic tile over concrete floor) soon...
Couple subs together to avoid power alley power valley. Couple subs horizontally for more narrow coverage, couple subs vertically for wider coverage. Also late arrivals reflecting from the front wall can shift the phase. You could actually place woofers 6" from the wall facing the wall which can avoid phase shifting.
Hi @kpaceguy I know you formally owned a Bic F12 ( a long long time ago). Would that be the kind of sub that you would recommend to be placed at the corner?
I had mine in the corner and it sound good but it sounded better away from the corner especially because the port is on the back. It was a lot louder but wasn't necessarily a great sound
Just found your channel @Kpaceguy I've got the Marantz SR6013, SVS Prime Towers and Klipsch sub which I'll be upgrading, my question is for listening to music. I'm a hip hop head and love bass but listening to stereo i really don't feel like I get that punch, could you give a t I p on a sub to pair with the speakers or receiver. I'm just getting into actually spending a little more in this hobby. Became a subscriber today thanks for the vids
Upgrading the sub will do the trick. Klipsch subs don't really dig that deep at high volumes. You need something with some authority down there. What are you upgrading to?
Yes and no. Polyfil is good if your box is slightly too small for the sub. It gives the illusion to the sub that the box is bigger than it is and performs more optimum. So it could result in better, louder bass. Put too much Polyfil in and it'll suffocate the sub and you'll lose bass
Great video! I’m getting a PB-2000 and I already own a BIC f12. Should I try to run duels with them? I will be limited to in calibrating them since my receiver has two sub outputs but can’t adjust them individually. Denon 2500x
Kpaceguy also I would run the BIC f12 to just fill in any dead spots in the room and not to push it to match the PB- 2000. Not sure if that is possible but just an idea.

Simple answer is yes you can
thanks man, great explanation! 😊

Brother I have a question. Does stuffing polyfill in a subwoofer box increase bass?

What if you have a big sub and you put it in a corner but its facing into the room diagonally?
It'll help depending on the direction the port faces but I'd still be careful

It's possible to do it. It just wouldn't be the most blended sound
Kpaceguy thanks! I’m curious to see if I’m better off just using the Pb 2000 by itself.

Might depend on your room but I think putting the PB 2000 in the front and the bic f12 behind you near field would be the best way to go.
Bass sometimes ia like resounding not pure. Its a bose sub. Pls suggest
That's how bose subs are. You can try to treat it with better placement or bass traps
I just want to tell you got some beautiful eyes just beautiful
Lol thanks my friend
Yes, his eyes are beautiful.🤩
Wheres your new speakers??
Haha. 4 of 7 are here now. Last 3 will be here next week
no choice for moving it so corner it is
No putting it in a corner does not amplify the bass. See Geddes for info on this.
See who?
with those subs i take it you don t have neighbors or furniture in the room 😂
I have both
@@Kpaceguy And you got no complaints? i m struggling with svs 1000 and 3000 micro on my end..
