We are in Da Nang currently and love it! We've been full-time traveling with our 2 kids and we are considering Da Nang as one of our home bases after traveling to 11 countries in 1 year! Easy airport access, clean, safe, nice beach and affordable! Simply Amazing!❤😊🇻🇳
Love your video, dude. My wife and I spent some good amount of time in Da Nang, this brought back memories. I’m an older, random white guy who speaks very broken Tiếng Việt and I found the Vietnamese as being very friendly…well, for me, a smile is international and karma is a thing so being cool to someone tends to yield the same. Agree, 9.5/10 for sure!
Man I was there 5 years ago, and this year for three months - this place is an absolute blast; especially as a solo traveler. I am now living in Bogota, but am longing for Da Nang some days - there is nothing on the Colombian coast like Da Nang!
TOTALLY AGREE!! I absolutely LOVE Da Nang! LOVED to walk. Very friendly people. Extremely clean. Loved that breeze at night. Only issue I had was leaving.
Awesome video. Love how honest you are about your feelings about certain things in a respectful way eg feeling people are rude at first until they get to know you. Most on YT would make a generic statement about how everyone is so friendly (even if they're not). Also appreciate the open comparisons to your own cultural background!
Hey Wes love the video series my wife and I have gone back to the beginnings of your journey since watching you first on life with David. Keep it us Wes you are one of the best on here big time bro
Great video! But nooooo, I've never dreamt of a tailored suit. Those tailor shops can make so much more than stuffy ole suits. Heh. 30 days in Vietnam this April! Thank you for the info!
I agree with u for the most part except the fact that Vietnamese girls dress super conservatively. I live in Hanoi, the northern part which they say is much more conservative than Saigon, but I see a lot of women here wearing however they like. Especially during hot season, you can see more skin (i’m not trying to be offensive here). Yes there are conservative leaning people in Vietnam, but it's definitely not as conservative as countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh. If u prefer ultra conservative dressed women, u should check out countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh.
Since you travel so much. Why don't you do a video on what you travel with such as the suitcases you use and perhaps must items you travel with. It's not easy to travel the way you do up and going to a new destination frequently.
Love the Video mate….can I ask did you buy those stretchy pants from that same GMEN store? I’m going to Vietnam next week and I always struggle finding good pants they sound perfect 🙏
Be polite, gregarious, self-effacing, and get in with a social circle. I found it easy to make friends with guys, and that led me to social circles where I was able to date a couple of smoke shows without any of the Thailand 'sponsorship' vibe. Great easy-going curious girls with an otherworldly beauty
First thing i noticed was the rudeness to be honest, but like you said its not "rude", its more....once they know you, they're like Thais, but sometimes they can be a bit standoff-ish or borderline aggressive. One woman shook her fist at me after i came over to look at her vegetable stand, then i didnt buy anything (i was just looking), which would never happen in Thailand.
Wes, what does a person do if he can't crouch down to go to the bathroom? How do people, especially foreigners adjust to the high heat and humidity in Vietnam? Living in AC 24/7 must be hard to take.
I wonder how the cleanup of Agent Orange in Da Nang has been so far. I' ve heard the locals still suffering from the aftermath after all these years? Is this something to worry about?
It cleaned up years ago, plenty of expats live there and nothing happen. Only a small amount of AO remains in deep jungle which is very hard to access.
The British did the same in Malaysia when there were anti colonial uprisings in the 50s (that is where the Americans copied it from when they used it on Vietnam). I think Malaysia recovered well. VN, on the the other hand still need work.
kinda expected it to be more party oriented, and damn Koreans.... nothing personal, but considering the obsession with Koreans all around asia, Danang apparently isn't the best city for dating haha
I think Vietnamese "Kinh people" is actually Chinese, like Taiwanese today. They didn't like each other, so they went separated way. That's why Chinese always claims that Viet Nam is part of China. Why i think so? Because the Kinh people looked like Chinese and the food culture is also almost the same. I think the Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese have the same root very very long time ago. That's is my guess. I wished, that I can be a time traveler so that I can be sure, but honestly I don't know
@@anhtunguyen776 Thank you for your comment. I might be wrong. I wished, that I can travel back in time with a camera. I am asking honestly, have you ever wondering why the people in that region have the face look the same, hair color the same, but the people from Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia they have the same root i guess.
It’s probably because it’s newly built with decent architectural and town planning standards unlike other older Vietnamese cities. Saigon needs to be rebuilt if it has any hope of being a modern city. 😂

Polished, informative and balanced - better than most TV documentaries - Thank you

I spent a month in DaNang in March of 2024. Amazing city, also great city for seeing the rest of the country. It's very cheap to fly within Vietnam.

Great video! Totally agree with you. If I were to move to Vietnam, I would definitely choose Da Nang
Living here but watched your video all the way through. A really good one. Agree with all your impressions. Quite a blessing to be able to live here
not too late, now you know already, enjoy ur life!
Nice review Wes! I lived in China for a few years. Really want to try Da Nang!

My wife's boyfriend recommended a trans bar in Hai Chau District we went but unfortunately it closed early.
Thanks for sharing! We’re visiting in a couple months and this convinced us to make sure to stay here a bit longer!
How was your visit?
I enjoyed this video, really good information for me going Da Nang for 40 days stay this month 👍 Thank you
OK, I'm sold. Thanks. lol

30 days in Vietnam this April!
Thank you for the info!
While Asian girls aren't as thick as Latinas, I think they have the softest and sexiest looking skin
Also facts. I would argue that middle eastern women too have nice skin
Nice video ❤
I enjoyed as well vlogging in Da Nang, the place is nice, safe, and people very friendly 🙂
Filipina wife and I have been to Korea, Japan, Taiwan, PI, Thailand...putting Da Nang, Vietnam on the list. Salamat
Nice presentation! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for this video!
Wes: I love this city very much, but I am going to leave it as soon as possible, because it is boring as hell.
Wes loves slow pace cities he's a stoner
I liked the slower pace tbh. Traveling for a long period of time, it's nice to take breaks once in a while
pretty informative, can't wait to visit it
Love the video! Where did you get that blue button up shirt you had in this video? Looks awesome man.
Can't love? Da Nang already has a lover!
Nice video... So very interested to hear what are you other favourite cities?
Great video. Is it possible to surf there in July?

Yessir, the same Gmen store.
uhm, no those are not things anyone should have to get used to :o sweet video, thanks
Hey Wes: How cheap is cheap in Da Nang? I was in Santa Marta and loved it there so much more than Medellin. Thanks bro
$700 a month is doable if you're on a mega budget.
The Vietnamese women are sooo attractive!
But, hey man…it seems so hard to date them. You had any luck?
in Da Nang i did not, the language barrier is so high. But god dang, they are so hot lol.
Maybe in Saigon I'll have some luck

Can you share the best Bun Cha restaurant & Sea food restaurant in Da Nang? Awesome!
Do not have one unfortunately. There are many good ones around the city just have to explore
Dananger here. There are no good Bún Chả places in Danang like in Hanoi. For seafood there are quite many. I would recommend Nhân Méo.

No but I wanted to
Hi Wes, if I may ask where did you stay for your accommodation in Da Nang? Thanks in advance for any info.
You take about safety. It is real. All the policemen do not cary any guns
I m a whitey and vietnamese women are beautiful, and my favorite 🥵
Where did you get the pants??
The Gmen
how about the digital nomad community? Should be easy to make friends there bc its international / more western right?
not really. It's mainly Koreans and Russians
@@WheresWes hmm on other youtube videos it seems different - so for how long have you been working in da nang coworking spaces?

what is the weather like? i was going to come but i was worried it was stormy/rainy season.
Hit or miss right now. Lately it's been nice but we had one week of rain
Da Nang love you too😂
Wes, in algun momento check out the Dominican Republic.
all the constant construction didn't bother you
I stayed in the neighborhoods so I didn't really see it

What other cities are on your mt rushmore haha?
Budapest and Manizales
