I'm really happy you're shouting out lesser-known indie shows/shorts. I grew up with no evil lol, and I love how this shows people you don't need a large budget to make something
i discovered barber westchester a while back and i loved it and still do. i showed my best friends it. im so happy to see a creator talking about it, it really deserves all the love. jonni’s other work, secrets and lies in a town of sinners, really adds a lot to the movie and it’s definitely worth the watch!

Jonni's work has always made a massive impact on me, from Stilton to Barber Westchester, I love every last bit of it! I remember how hyped I was hearing about Barber Westchester since I was already a fan of what he's made and binged the series that is pretty much a prequel to it. There's just something about the way he writes characters that makes me so invested, even when they're meant to be purely comical. I can't stress enough of invested I am!

I would also like to add:
The entire genre of object shows. There’s a whole genre of shows on CZcams called “object shows”, this describes the designs of the characters in all the shows which are, well, objects. The most common kind of object shows are game shows because the first popular show in the genre is Battle for Dream Island which is a game show, but there are other genres like horror that are used.
If you wanna check some out here’s my suggestions: BFDI, Inanimate Insanity, hfjONE, Paper Puppets take two, The Nightly Manor, Burner
Fair warning though, if you wanna watch BFDI and Inanimate Insanity just know that the first/first few seasons were written when the creators were children so it’s very childish. But it is impressive that these were made by literal kids and are still going today.
1:02:45 Little Fun Fact, Jonni Peppers was a guest animator for a mini series called ONE: Investigations, specifically the episode called Kylie Harding. If you want to watch more of their stuff or want to look at more indie animation, check out the creator of that mini series, Cheesy HFJ. But just a heads up, the mini series is part of a bigger series called ONE. I suggest you watch that first because it gives you details about the miniseries. The show is about objects being teleported to a plane to compete in an object show. The show has incredible writing, beautiful animation, witty humor, and some of the most heartbreaking scenes of anything I have seen. I highly recommend it.

Watching these types of vids makes me so happy!! I'm pretty young currently but I've sorta dedicated myself to becoming the best artist I can to eventually produce my own animated series on youtube! So seeing that other indie animators can get attention on their works sorta brings me hope for this huge project I'm making. Your series has also helped inspire that, so just wanted to say thank you for making this video and many others. I hope you know your a huge inspiration for me and others :)
Man, everytime I see Welcome to Hell I tear up a bit. I remember being in elementary school and stumbling across it on yt and I was so inspired I started working on my own series (and I'm still working on it to this day😢)

I should be making my own animation and proof of concepts, but college, not enough experience, poor motivation, and several other things are keeping me from working on making sure I have the bare minimum all sketched out. I could just continue writing though.

Finally! I remember watching Dreamophrenia in 7th grade and No Evil since 4th grade. I have mass playlist of indie animation I've made over the years. One of my favorites being My Pride. So glad I'm not the only one watching niche indie projects. A short film I recomend is There's a Man in the Woods. It has a very neat art style, it rhymes the whole time, and it has a dark twist.

you might like Society of Virtue for super hero parody animation. It's more dialogue heavy and there is very little actually animation, but the art really feels like watching a living comic. Too bad it hasn't been updated in over three years. I could also suggest Dead sounds and all his awesome dinosaur animations which is absolutely impressive on the quality and esteticque front.

I really wanna make my own indie animation series in the future. and maybe at some point leave the OSC community after getting experience, is my concept good or bad? The story is about a girl named skarlet, who after her 15 birthday finds a artifact in a box. which is a key with a big eye, suddenly a portal appears from the keys energy and sucks her into the isle of nowhere, where she will meet a bunch of colorful or ehh cast of characters, and maybe a love interest!!! Lol, anyway, trying the finds her way out, will she actually make it out? Will she find the hidden mysteries of her family,and what actually happened to her dad??? I don’t really know if my concept is good or not, which is why I’m asking if it is or not, I’ve finalized all my designs and characters, I know what I want to do with my series, but is my concept good, bad, to big to handle, or others, also fyi I’ve posted concept art of these character online

I'm kinda surprised that nobody mentioned Ratboy Genius tho, it's the niche of the niche, Imo. I'm super conflicted everytime I get the chance to reccomend it.
On one hand, it's a nice (but very weird and ugly) compilation of series with surrealist vibes, charming characters and really, REALLY good music (and Minecraft). It's an aquired taste, but man, it can be so relaxing. It's a huge inspiration for me because it doesn't look like the author wants to go anywhere with it or make the series look better for mainstream standards, he just makes it for himself and that's AWESOME. Plus, he makes this completely on his own too!
The problem is... The creator supported some really bad stuff three years ago about vaccines causing autism, so... Yeah, that's why I don't feel like showing Ratboy Genius to everyone. The series are nice, but the author has (or had, idk) pretty ableist views towards autistic people, even though I'm pretty sure that he's in the spectrum.

52:36 also rainbott, just some controversy I have on the character designs, one of the characters looks like the guy in welcome to dreamworld where they would give us clues and we would have to spot him, is that the same guy, and if not, why was he not in the rest of season 1, or featured at all for season 2, I just wanna point that out for some welcome to dreamworld fans who have some controversy about it, also if they are the same, what is there name and lore, and those it tie to welcome to dreamworlds lore, I just wanted to make this comment for those who like me, we’re confused. (Hopefully this gets answered)🤞

Currently right now I'm working on a South Park au series called mythology Park and it's a South Park au based off of Mythology I'm going to be honest I don't know for sure if I count as an indie animator considering how this is an alternate universe series based off of a show that already exists but I like to think that I am an indie animator!

great video, i realy enjoyed it concidering i'm realy pasionate of animation as a whole, and the thing that got me pasionate of animation is this the indie series called ONE (or more refered as hfjone), its about the anthropomorfic objects who live just like humans (the first batch more specificaly) geting teleported to some world thats just a plain grass and sky called "the Plane" and they are forced to compete in the gameshow called "ONE" by the host, Airy, and the prize is the wish for anything, at the start, it does seem realy suspicious, and there are some secrets to be revealed, thats all what i will say about it, i recomend to watch it and its spinoff and miniseries "ONE investigations", also Jonni Peppers worked on one episode of ONE investigations and thats how i founded out about their work, also i recomend watching hfjONE before ONE investigations to understand the context of the miniseries :]
