  • The Reverence is the new off road running shoe from Ron Hill, launched in spring 2024. It is particularly designed for fell running or trail running on soft ground.
Here I take a look at its features.
Check this video to see how I tested the shoes:

Good review, Dave. Look forward to hearing how they perform on a run. Maybe hard to compete with the extensive Inov8 range these days.

      Cheers Bill.
Yes I think it will be tricky for them to break into the market. I'll test them out for a while then report back.
      Thanks for watching.

Cheers Dave, yours is the 1st that I've seen that's shown the rigidity and how the tongue is.
I ordered some this morning. They'll probably feel clumpy, but I'm more of a fell flogger than a fell runner, so not being a racing shoe shouldn't bother me.
Until they arrive, I'm torn between these and the newer inov8 that you gave a 1st look of. It's inov8 failures that put me off and yet it's a leap into the unknown with the Ronnie's being new to the market. I reckon the grip from michelin rubber compound on wet stoney tracks will be better than the overhyped g-grip. Be interesting to see if the rubber needs a bit of wear before it's true grip kicks in?
    Hope you find them fun.
    Cheers again.

Thanks Chis, glad it was useful viewing.
Just had my first run in them and the rigidity does make them feel a bit clumpy. I think they would be a better training shoe than a racing shoe.
It will be interesting to see how they stand up to wear and tear, nothing seems to last long nowadays.
The rubber felt fairly grippy, even on wet rock although I wasn't running too fast!
It will be good to hear how you get on with them.

Nice looking shoe with a good looking sole.
When you bend the shoes, I think that shows where there will be a failure point over time at the join between the black material and the corner edge of toe bumper. How soon is the question.
Also, how are they for drainage? You will certainly step in water deeper than the top of them, how well do they drain?

I agree that the flex points will be a possible area where the shoes start to come apart. That's where many shoes fail.
Just about to run in them today so I'll see how well they drain.

I've read a couple of reviews that suggest they drain better than the appearance suggests.. Looking forward to finding out how they do fair after some beck crossings and shin deep bog 😂

@@runhikesleeprepeat187 Just got back from a very wet run and yes, they drain very quickly. Also the upper material doesn't absorb much water so they don't feel heavy when they get wet.
