    The next mod is fixing the timer on the sounds dropping

    Why Hasbro didn't do that in the first place I'll never understand.

    Very nice. I've got two also, one to keep and one to play with/mod. I was thinking about gutting it and installing a Rabid Prototypes wand system in it. I have a extra BOK kit I have to finish so thinking maybe I'll just use this wand for the pack but totally replace the electronics. At least the pop mech is already installed.

    How would you add the actual light in the hat light? I want to do what you did too.

  • @bertatcoffinupblood1072

    I’m am now a subscriber, I’ll be attempting these mods myself. Thank you for these videos.

      No problem.. stay tuned, I just did the wiring to my pack lights and amp for sound. Full size proton pack not spirit.

      Sean Schops that’s actually perfect! I’m in the process of getting a full sized pack built with GB lights. Should be awesome!

    I am a newbie to Ghostbuster modding scene and I have to ask. Why is everyone cutting the glass out on the 3 top bars that are illuminated for the most common proton wand mods? Was that how it was on screen? Or is it just a popular personal choice for mods?

    • @seanschops3172
      @seanschops3172  Před 2 lety

      On the screen used props it's a vent, with light that shines up from underneath. No glass

    What type of paint did you use to repaint the barrel? An acrylic spray can or just acrylic brushed on?

    • @seanschops3172
      @seanschops3172  Před 3 lety +1

      For the barrels I used a flat black spray paint. I taped everything off and sprayed the handles. For the weathering I used a black acrylic paint mixed with water to thin it out then brushed it on and wiped it off, leaving the black in the cracks.

    • @gerv55
      @gerv55 Před 3 lety

      @@seanschops3172 I was trying out a dark brown oil paint on the front grip to darken it down, never realised how long this stuff takes to dry. Might give the spray paint a try.

    Do you know off hand if the first switch in the turn on sequence is closing the circuit for the battery or does both leads from the switch go to the circuit board? The reason I ask is because I was wondering if that switch closes the circuit for the battery? If so do you think soldering a wire to the positive and negative could close a relay to switch a proton pack on and off otherwise if you got a good look inside how easy would it be to run wires down the handle past the batteries and change that switch to a dpst to turn on and off a proton pack and maybe in the future a dp mom button for the activate to run the fire sequence in unison with the gbfans equipment.

      I will be posting a video tomorrow on how I wired my wand to a proton pack. Stay tuned.

    How did you get rid of the vents and what did you use for the barrell

    • @seanschops3172
      @seanschops3172  Před rokem

      I used a dremal with a drill bit tip. I actually had done another one and from the inside, I cut out that whole vent plastic piece, gave it a much cleaner look, but it can be accomplished with a dermal and steady hand. For the barrel I purchased the acrylic tube from gbfans.com

  • @cyriljackal
    @cyriljackal Před 3 lety

    Why not open it up and do the wiring inside?

    • @seanschops3172
      @seanschops3172  Před 3 lety +1

      I was going to but then I thought about it and in the films you can see where they went in through the bottom of the ear like I did. All the actual wiring is still internal, I just put that extra bit of wiring for looks. Its literally a 2 in piece of wire glued on the outside.

    The real momentary switch mod is a must, nice work. Is there a way to disassemble the barrel assembly to access the hat light button without cutting through from behind?

    • @seanschops3172
      @seanschops3172  Před 3 lety +3

      Thanks. Yes , you have to drill out all the plastic holes on the barrel and grip to access the screws, then you can split the barrel. I chose to do it the way I did cause it was the easiest way. I was going to cut a thin plastic cover to cover the hole but then I thought it would cool to give it a real "worked on" look. It also looks like that in the films.

    • @paulb9890
      @paulb9890 Před 3 lety

      Sean Schops Thank you I can see the holes on the wood grip now. I was thinking of using some black shrink tube like on the originals around the hat light and momentary switch. Looking forward to a solution to illuminate real hat lights there. Still waiting on pulse preorder.

      Sean Schops Have you had any problems with the twist barrel modification chewing the wiring inside? Before the fb group disappeared people were having issues. But they had not upgraded and extended the wiring for an actual push button.

    • @seanschops3172
      @seanschops3172  Před 3 lety

      I haven't had any issues, but I did tape the wires down so they have enough slack but out if the way

    Anyway you can describe the process of swapping the hat lights on the gunbox in a bit more detail?
    Also did you just dremel cut out a rectangle underneath the push button to gain access?

    • @seanschops3172
      @seanschops3172  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi, for the hat light I go over exactly how I did it here:
      Watch "Spengler's neutrona wand.. *in depth look at how I modified the new afterlife neutrona wand." on CZcams
      czcams.com/video/4ajoUVUPXX4/video.html
      And yes, I cut out a rectangle on the bottom with a Dremel.
