Thank You Bro. You just saved me a lot of money. My wife's 2010 Chev Malibu just had a complete tire change. A day later the TPMS warning came on. She was on the freeway and in very dangerous snowy conditions. It showed her front left was out of air. When she called the tire company, Discount Tire, they told her that her sensor was bad. After viewing your video, I reset all 4 tires.... and bingo, resolved. These company's all want to charge you for replacement of the sensor. It's an industry rip off. Discount should have reset the system at the time of the change of tires, they know that. Just like re setting the oil life at an old change. Again, thanks Bro.... easy fix !

The amber tire icon will generally flash if there are bad sensors. If it’s solid, it generally means tire pressure is low or the system needs to be reset. You can actually pick up a reset tool online for around $10.00. It’s a lot easier way to reset the system for a small investment. Additionally, some GM vehicles will reset themselves. Inflate the tires to the proper level and drive the vehicle 20-25 miles at 50+ MPH. Again, you can only reset the system if the amber tire icon is on steady. If it’s flashing, you have bad sensors or some other system failure beyond low tire pressure Discount is usually pretty thorough. Your wife’s system probably went into some kind of automatic relearn cycle after the tires were changed. Had a Ford Transit Connect van that would do that.

My sensor wasn't reading after some battery/cable work. I was going to re-set it like this video shows, so I filled the tires from 35ish to 49 psi and when I got back in the car the sensor was working again! :) Took about 10-15 PSI until it started working again because one of the tires I put a little less pressure in and that still wasn't working until I added a slight bit more pressure. No beeps or anything. Then I released air back down to 35 PSI and the sensor knew. :)

Assuming the sensor you out on is good. You might have to take it to the dealer or a tire shop to have them program it with the scanner. But really don’t see why this procedure wouldn’t help you if everything g is working properly.
