    Put a spring between the bearings to keep them apart? Otherwise, pretty nice work.

    Just because of that, I suscribed right away. I love people making their own tools. Good work.

    Nice
    Two final steps
    See Rob Cosman for doing slight reverse on backside and stropping
    I like the jig
    Not sure why bearings are only on one side
    Thank you for posting

    Para que funcionen bien los rodamientos, le agregaría 2 golillas y un resorte blando en medio, para completarlo, pero es una excelente idea, me gustó mucho. 👍🇨🇱😎

    The jig is ok but I’d add a spring between the bearings and going back to 80 grit to take of the burr on the back of the chisel is counterproductive. Once you’ve polished the back you should only use the finest grit to take off the burr. Also, only dragging the chisel on the last paper would make it last longer and lifting the wheel of the jig on a couple of sheets of card would give a micro-bevel on the last grit, saving time and effort.

    To finish the polishing you don't use the leather strap?

    nice jig , but the point of creating a secondary bevel is when you get a chip/roll you dont have to regrind the entire surface and only the secondary bevel
    wich means you got alot less work to do to keep it sharp

    WHen you're cutting small rod stock, have your cut line really close to the vise. Too much 'stick out' makes the part flexible; you have more work to do and a sloppy result.

    sanding the left side is not recommended, moreover, there is no blade ... only a stone with a fine grain at the very end to pull these fine hairs.

    • @D-Vinko
      @D-Vinko Před 3 lety

      You said literally nothing;
      He sanded no left side of anything.
      There is a blade, it's a chisel blade.
      Having sharpened for a little over 5 years, I figured I'd be able to deduce what you were saying.

    -Respectful criticism
    Good idea, poor execution. This build is ok. With the mediocre precision the edges will be sharp but look sloppy and with the off center roller its going to be near impossible to keep it flat on the paper over long periods of time. Bottom line is that it will get the job done but it will look like crap. GL to u
