- Britain’s Worst Takeaway as seen on BBC2’s Britain’s Top Takeaways. We took a trip to The Indians Next Door located at Spitalfields Market in London expecting some of the best Indian food in Britain. However what we received was far from it. It was the worst Indian Takeaway we had ever visited. The food was abysmal. You will not believe how bad this food is and for the price you'd certainly expect better. This has to be The Worst Indian Takeaway in Britain.

You know it’s not good when The MacMaster says, “Right. Okay.” after taking a bite.
That looked shite! Actually feel quiet ashamed as an Asian Brit that you guys had to eat that rubbish- especially as I know you and DJ know your Indian food. I know these are Central London prices but it’s worth pointing out that a freshly cooked samosa and chilli sauce is less than a pound where I live in west London. Those ‘bhajis’ were clearly cooked in advance and re-heated on a greasy grill plate. “Top takeaway”?? To quote Jim Royal - my arse.
Haha loved this espesh the jim quote lol my fave sitcom the best one being was wen he was moaning about denise wanting a finger buffet at baby davids christening n he says !finger! My arse n they all crack up apon realizing what he said 🤣
Love how you both knew you felt the same about the food by just looking at each other! No words needed. Cheers
The duo we need on CZcams
Well Lee, this made me laugh 🤣 Dazzers face cracked me up! It was a good review & funny! with no drama 👍 Think I mentioned a while back not to purchase tv licence as not fit for purpose mate, it's no longer needed with catch up tv, & all the great streaming services 😊 Anyway really enjoyed the review, nice1👍
Just watching the videos Lee that I’ve missed catching up mate 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻hope your well mate 🤞
Well done guys good honest review as always ,Lee and John .......... more like fell off the bottom of the charts food this time Cheers Guys
People will still go to this place just to see how bad it is lol, great comedy expressions on your faces Lee and Darren, keep up the fantastic work guys and stay well and safe always.
This is your funniest video so far, the look on your faces as you tasted the food. I would have left the food on the table and walked out. Would I even give this a one, I doubt it. I love sauces with food like that, the pots should be double the size for the same price.
Obviously their standards have dropped. They pulled the wool over the judges eyes, to be honest I'd never go in to a take away like that . An Indian takeaway that doesn't do a curry isn't something i would entertain. Great video Lee, been away for a while so I've got plenty of your vids to watch
Good stuff lads it's time these takeaways were named and shamed. Love your reviews.
It’s a really bad shame when you’re looking forward to trying something as had been rated on TV and it turns out to be a load of rubbish very disappointing but thanks for sharing this with us all
They have obviouslychanged chefs/management!
As a student in the 70s in Yorkshire I spent a good deal of time in cheap and cheerful curry houses that had five tables, a tiny kitchen and six menu items. One favourite in Bradford offered a bowl of red hot vindaloo eaten using two, very thin chapatis...brilliant. Happy days😉
Guys thank you so much for not dressing it up just to please your audience or the takeaway as do so many other CZcamsrs.
Your honesty is refreshing and admirable....well done 👍
Yes I completely agree I hate it when you tubers give high scores for obviously lousy food
What's the chillie sauce like Darren?:
Yeeeeaaah......................... it's definitely chillie.
😂
Hiya Lee, the faces you two were pulling. So funny. Have a lovely weekend.
Lee, I’m disappointed for you both, take heart that you’re saving us going there for a similar experience, your job is accomplished. 👍
Lee... that's shocking ! Sorry you both had to experience that and DJ's face was priceless !
Hi lee and Darren great video hope you’re ok lee you’ve had more misses than hits lately your right 0 at of 10 take care the both of you x🥰
The silence was golden!!! Plus the facial expressions, nothing more needed to be said😆
Oh my gosh...Darren's facial expressions were absolute comedy gold!! Those alone said everything!! 😂😂😂 shame it was so bad but thanks for the laugh...loved it!! 😂😂😂 Absolutely love when you guys are together...hopefully you have more to come. 👍🏼😉
Some of those "looks" Darren gives makes me laugh.... very amusing lads !! I'll give that spot a miss if I'm in the area ! Thanks 👍
Nice One Guys . Never Been So Never Will 🤣🤣."STAY SAVE" Guys
Lee you know it's gonna be good laugh you and Darren john together definitely didn't fancy any of the food, Darren john face says it all very disappointing enjoy your weekend ♥️😂😂🤣
Not what i was expecting on food choices .
Premade on display pish posh rubbish...at a price ...
Well bbc dont have taste only went on looks alone...the researchers obviously didn't do there job 😂
Love this vlog together when you guys suss places out its fun to see 👍😀...0/10 for all over experience.
Fantastic seeing you both .🇦🇺💕
Good to see you guys together, Darren you must know the expression “One picture is worth a thousand words”, after eating the onion bhaji, the famous “Darren John Scowl” said it all. Shame about the food as the Spitalfields area is usually good for Indian food. Lee, we don’t need to get our pencils ready, we have keyboards.
Problem is with these hipster type places the people that tend to go don't know about real authentic food. The won't go to an authentic hole in the wall or slightly run down restaurant or takeaway an Indian or Pakistani guy would go to. Lee came to Birmingham, but there are so many independent restaurants abit like the ones down brick lane who serve incredible food. I hate pretentious and places people make cool like digbeth dining club which is a load of shite
The way DJ kept looking at you Lee. His face said it all!! 😂😂
Worst than the palace cafe? Love to see you guys go back there!
I agree also, Darren John's face was, Off The Charts. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
You ever done Caribbean? I'd avoid the ackee but otherwise its pretty good. Deep fried dumplings and curry goat is as good as any Indian
I could tell by Darren's face early on it was shite. The BBC have been losing the plot with food reviews for years. Another observation regarding Indian food....if you can't see it ..... don't eat it !!
Gosh I am surprised because the place looks spotless and that always makes you think the food will be nice.
That food looked like it had been sat there for hours drying out...
another good video lee.Dj’s face was off the charts 😂😂
Lol. I wondered why you were standing amongst the bins. Straight in!!! Dissapointing guys. Funny vlog though.👍
Actually Darren it WAS off the charts - 1000 miles below the y-axis and/or west of the x-axis ! Facial expressions priceless! Nice little sweetener to finish - a duffnut each! In its favour the front of house looked spotless!
Darren needs to start eating salad 😂😂🤣
Darren's face when you said 'greasy'. He's ever the diplomat, and didn't want to slag the food off whilst in their premises.
That samosa was greased lightning (and in a bad way)! The bhaji 'looked' alright (clearly it didn't taste that good). 50p for tiny sauces is an absolute joke... they should come with the food (and if not, then at least make them a decent size!).
I can't mark it on taste, so will do on looks alone (price etc. factored in). I'll go a generous 5.5/10.
I trust your opinions, Lee and Darren, so I won't be going there!
Great to see you doing reviews together. 👍
You should do a spicy bhaji challenge with DJ - that would be fun - obviously not from there though Lol, actually maybe you should ;)
DJ could do a full vlog in silence and we'd still know what he thinks about the food lol... His expressions speak volumes!
Best samosa I've found anywhere is the ones in the chilled section of the corner shop. 10 mins in the oven and they come out crisp, full of flavour and a decent meat content. At a quid a pop you can't go wrong
I’ve never seen you guys speechless. Thanks for the heads up.😂👍
Should have gone to wright brothers next door and washed down some oysters another great video Lee laughing at Darren’s face and yours hilariously funny radioactive ☢️ onion bargees
Charlie Bighams Chicken Tikka Masalla and Pilau Rice from Waitrose or Sainsburys, elsewhere probably too, delicious, better than some restaurants I've been in, with a Sag Aloo Gobi side and a Naan. Mmmm. £7.50 minus the Naan as a single portion. Try one at home, you will love it. It doesn't weld your tongue to your pallet though :)
This is probably someone who has never been outside of london's best takeaway, aka a researcher for the BBC.
The look on your faces throughout said it all.
I never trust these tv shows. Friend of mine was on masterchef this year and won dish of the day in her quarter final opportunity. She cooked the dish that she did for the show and it was almost inedible. Although my friend did say “I’ve had a bit to drink” and “they’re not how I wanted it” - so might have something to do with it.
Very disappointing. I was lucky enough to work with some Asian and also Muslim colleagues a few years ago, and occasionally for an office treat, they would ring a local restaurant they had under their belts, and bring in samosas and bhajis with homemade chilli sauce, absolutely heaven, or my Muslim colleagues in celebration of Eid would bring in chicken and rice, or other delicious treats, to share in the spirit of being grateful for the food we share, and are lucky to receive, and those food gifts were OFF THE CHARTS. So disappointing to see this offering!
That was awful Lee Darren's face said it all
How do you do those crazy legs at 3:20 Mac? 🤣
Are they real legs??
The Dynamic Duo! DJ’s facial expression is priceless.
Wow just wow 😮
DJs face said it all! Then the chuckle came, I’d gone 🤣🤣. Don’t know about a bottle of water to get rid of the dryness you needed an hosepipe! The chippy in Yorkshire was the better one with the posh fish finger butty.
Looks more like a coffee shop!! Not what I’d think of when I fancy Indian food!
Dj's face looking at you as if to say how you gonna put it 🤣🤣🤣
My fave Indian (Bengali) changed hands and went down the chute. We went there for 25 years regularly. Just stopped going. Such a shame. It used to produce such tasty dishes. No longer.
That Pav (pronounced ‘Pow’) was an embarrassment to Pav. 🤢🤮 It looks like someone’s rich parents paid the broadcaster to advertise that garbage. 😂
Well we visited tops in Manchester as was down there for concert, you and your friend reviewed tops a month or so ago and I agree it was superb
lol Darrens face said it all when he bit into that bhaji! lol lol lol
Was that the one Delboy and Rodney went too 😂😂
All the items looked sub par Iceland style foods. And that’s doing Iceland a massive disservice 😢
Try Aldi bhajis and veg samosas 😄 they are off the charts !!
Petition to change the name of the channel to BoomerTV 📺
Have I seen this before lol? Did you do a live there or something I’m confused lol.
I know nothing about Indian food but DJs face said it all, also the grease 🤢. Honest review 👍
Very entertaining. They would have definitely been given a heads up if they were going to appear on tv. Other Indian takeaways should petition for them to be closed down for bringing beautiful Indian food into disrepute.
I don’t understand why those samosa and bhajis weren’t served hot. They are not meant to be eaten cold. Although there is no such thing as an onion bhaji - been to India countless times and they don’t understand what an onion bhaji is. They do do onion and veg pakora though. You should try those again hot.
Your faces said it all when you were eating especially DJs.
Love the content. Not a fan though of showing the end in the intro. Onwards!
Interesting. You're the second person to say this. I was experimenting as a lot of youtubers do this. Thanks for your options on this. I did wonder. 👍🏼
I pay 40p for a veggie samosa from Charlie's Sweet Centre in Langley Green in the west Midlands. All the local Asians would laugh at paying £2.50 for a meat samosa. Kind of like a tourist trap place, would not even bother going here.
I have watched a few BB2 Britains Top Takeaways and have to say its a very low budget, poorly thought out and overall garbage.
I assume the BBC had a few pennies lying around the back of the sofa to make it. It promised so much and delivered so little.... Much like tonights food!
Your channel is worth a million times what the BBC program is worth.
Maybe they should contract you instead and get rid of the junk on BritainsTop Takeaways.
Thanks Lee
Thanks Darren.. Your channel is improving day by day....giving Lee a run for his money now!
Love you both
Cheers
Phil
Having seen some episodes this last week, apart from the fish'n'chips, each serving ends up looking too busy, food items seem all mixed up. I like to discern what bit of the meal to eat next, to identify the ingredient. A lot of them looked like having being prepared by a student after coming back from the student bar.
Most of that food looked like it had been made with sawdust
What a shame, especially being rated on top rated takeaway. Lees face doesn't give much away but Darren, I love watching his face when he's eating, you know exactly what he thinks of it. Take care guys and stay safe!!
I used to make onion bhaji for officers as a starter they looked bloody awful
Go to Hounslow and that area, lots of excellent Indian veg restaurants that focus on Vada Pav and Samosa Chaat. Shree Krishna Vada Pav in Hounslow or Harrow branch. Super good and cheap.
I need some Gaviscon just watching that, looked dreadful 😅
How was the water??
Wow, you can't hit a coconut every time, cowboys....... And Indians.. Where's the great John Wayne, when u need him..... 0. 10 looked good on camera, but your body language, was so honest.... 😊😊🏴🇫🇷🇫🇷
Darrens face at 7mins 45 says it all x
The takeaway probably paid a fee to be on the show like the other takeaways probably did.
If the Beeb did a show for the best cafes don't be surprised to see the Palace on there! 😆
Can't imagine that the beeb's researchers wud av the time of day to go around every single takeaway in the UK never mind the stomach to do it.
I wouldn't have naan of that crap
No curries...should have been a clue.
Sorry guys can't say this looks very good I would give that one a miss I think 🤔 the best takeaway they must be joking and 50p each for sauces not right, with what you have said about it I don't know what score to give it now 🤔 but I know were to not go for a takeaway now 🤣😘x
Lee get yourself back up to Hull, Dope Burger won the BBC2 Best burger takeaway, and Sumo Pam Asian won the best noodle takeaway 😋
My goodness Lee you do look very slim especially next to DJ! I think he needs to start reviewing salads!! Sorry DJ!
Yuk that does not look like an onion Baji..hilarious
Sarah Cox has also long been obsessed with the Grange Hill sausage.
I watched that episode on TV. Who is rating these takeaways??
will this be up longer than the nottingham hooters vlog? 🤔
Lol. 😂 controversial! 😉
@@TheMacMaster 😂 what was the main reason for that? privacy complaint? or did they threaten with a lawsuit 👀
@@dFiiNee Lol. I know the owner and to be fair he asked me to take it down and go back again. 👍🏼
@@TheMacMaster fair enough 👍
Oh mate so disappointing as you guys looked well giddy on approach to the store.
Makes me wonder how them samosas compare with the Gazebo lamb samosas I get from my local BP garage on way to work, certainly cant recall any grease on them bad boys
I know a relative of Sara Cox ill pass message on! Wow that's shocking people voted 🗳 😳 they looked dry and tasteless
Hey lee the food looks dry and pathetic mate 2 out of 10 .... And Darren face was a picture with the food lol 😊💯💯
I like McMaster and DJ’s channels. Just two ordinary blokes trying food at the kind of places we all go. I love going out early for a fry up early on Saturday after a hard week in work, and the occasional fish and chips (which is always best eaten by the sea). Sometimes nothing will do apart from fish and chips. Just a pity you don’t do places in Devon and Cornwall which is where I live. Also like that you are HONEST and say it like it is. There’s no sugarcoating it. I like Rate my Takeaway but he can be too nice.
This video made me laugh. You both looked like you were really looking forward to it, then to see your faces drop and the look of “no this isn’t good”. It looked good on sale, but could tell it wasn’t nice when you could see inside.
How they managed to make an onion bhaji with virtually no onion in it? It was all flour and filling and the samosa looked doughy and greasy. 🤮
Having watched the fish n chips one to see where Hirds finished, they bring the people from each takeaway to a abandoned factory where 5 stands are set up, from which they prepare certain items from their menu to send out to a set of 'customers' who review and score each item.
Going off Darren's face he didn't seem too keen, and being a guy that likes his Indian food that's not a good sign lol
Looked OK on first appearance but when you opened them up your face said it all 😁.
I can taste the Cooking oil from here...
Looks like Ms.Cox might have a financial investment there.
DJ broke me up with his facial expression. Poor Lee couldn’t swallow it was so dry.
DJ’s face said it all from the moment you both tucked in to the food.
That potato thing looked like smash mash in a scotch egg crust
Imo when it comes to Indian food it’s either a taste sensation or utter cr4p
-10/10…… it looked sh1te 🤮🤮
