    Pre-match trading is the process of backing and laying at alternate prices in order to cash-out a profit. Essentially, it's trading on sports outcomes, much like you would shares or forex. See this example of a pre-match football trade on Manchester United v Arsenal FC in the Premier League.

    Excellenrst video Caan. I'm just musing as to whether it would be safer to wait to get team news before entering the trade as if a key player was rested, as often happens at the mo due to sheer volume of games, or injured, this may well cause the price to drift.

    good video, I understand the concept of backing a favourite that you think is over-priced for example and expecting it to come down in price. Couple of questions: 1) How soon in advance is too soon to enter the pre-match. For example I've seen price on a Dutch game tomorrow which is at 2.3 on Betfair right now but oddschecker showing most bookies have them at 2.10....would this be enough information to enter a trade. 2) how do you get to grips with learning how to use ladders etc, I've only ever used the betfair??

  • @geggs1
    @geggs1 Před 3 lety +3

    Man Utd stuck with the diamond formation. Essentially trying to accommodate 4 of the 6 midfielders. Basically keeping more people happy. Ole should have played 4-3-3 that’s why the price instantly drifted, and rightful so.

    Hi Caan, nice video. Thanks.
    Out of curiosity. United had a poor result last night in the champions league. Now face a tough trip to Everton Saturday lunchtime. United at 2.5, Everton at 3.0. I wpuld expect them to be more even. Especially going by league standings. Would you say because of last night's result, being away from home, and league standings, are good enough reason to think united might drift before kick off? Am i on the right lines? Thanks

      Great to hear, Tony. Pre-match movement is definately for the risk-averse. Each to their own on the software, they all use the same API and have the same features (of use). I'm led to believe GT has twice as many users than BA so can't be all that bad :)

    • @tonyburn
      @tonyburn Před 3 lety

      @@CaanBerryProTrader Absolutely, of course. Someone elsewhere explained to me that you may have a close association with GT so I understand that there may be some competition here, not sure how true that is, but its absolutely fine either way. Don't get me wrong lol, I wasnt having a go. Ive used GT, among others, and its a great piece of software, but BA's feature set (Im sure lots of peeps aren't aware of a lot of what it can do) and the way's in which it can show the market, its automation, which I use a lot, swings it for me, used it for years now and know it really well. But the key amongst everything is knowledge and the skill to use that knowledge, and I have learned so much from yourself, Peter Webb and CZcamsr Ben from Sports trading life. You gentleman are experts in this field and I enjoy learning from you all. Your book Betfair Trading made simple is superb, sits pride of place on my bookshelf, and I can have no hesitation in 100% recommending it to anyone. :)

    • @CaanBerryProTrader
      @CaanBerryProTrader  Před 3 lety

      Someone else explained that to you? the puppet master himself? lol. I appreciate you're just a regular user that probably views all content but you're quite mistaken and missing a bit there... I am a 10 year customer of GT. I have become freindly with them over time being one of their top users, picked out by Betfair as a success story for various campaigns. BA doesn't really offer anything extra of use and comes at a 500% mark-up, just a puppetmaster pulling the strings on snide behaviour from behind the scenes. That popular book you mentioned, that I wrote for example, was subject to several snide attacks and insinuations from the side of the fence you're camped there, they then renamed their forum to that of the books title in order to suck in extra search traffic from Google. Did you know that? There's a long history of dirty tactics and snide behaviour, such as the fake social media accounts that do the dirty for them too, explaining various false-truths and lies to people (maybe you can relate). Maybe I'm appearing a little curt here, but its become quite boring over the last 7 or so years. Others were targeted long before me.

    • @tonyburn
      @tonyburn Před 3 lety

      @@CaanBerryProTrader That's a long and emotional response that I didnt quite expect. Clearly there have been some issues that have happened and I can see its a bit of a raw nerve with the name calling and the curtness. I dont really see myself as being parked in any particular camp when it comes to the politics of things like this. Its of no concern to me, its between the parties involved, Im more interested in things, and people (including your good self), that know more than me and are kind enough to share that knowledge. I prefer the software I use and the resources and support because it suits my needs and does what I want it to do. But its no dig at any other person or the excellent other software's that are out there. :) Sometimes the written word does not always convey the right meaning. No offence was intended or implied on my part. If I can clarify, this 'someone' was just a random person on a betting forum commenting on a thread; and we all know what the Internets like lol. :)

    • @CaanBerryProTrader
      @CaanBerryProTrader  Před 3 lety

      Haha, very good. No not emotional, just bored of it. Yes I know what the internet's like...
      These 'someones' often have at least 10 accounts to pop on said forums or social platforms to make comments weaving their agenda. For example, there was once a well-established blog called Pinsticker, when it was confirmed as a software vendor and they were called out it suddenly vanised from the internet a day later? I've also had many messages over the years from followers who have said they made a positive comment about me on said forums and the owner (same software vendor) removes the comment/post. Note: they didn't remove the ones that sew the seed of doubt with you did they? :D In fact, that's actively encouraged (under multiple aliases, expected to be the software vendor). I really don't care what software is used to be honest, I've tried them all. However, I don't see a problem with stating facts when one person insists on behaving in such a disgusting fashion. It's well documented, and not just targetted at me... Geeks Toy, Gruss, Steve Howe, the Badger have all been on the recieving and too.

I’ll have a live game on tv and my betting app open on laptop. Every single goal and card is registered on my laptop screen way before it plays out on “live tv”
      Try it again, it’ll never happen again. Glitch in the matrix maybe.
