What do you think? When will we see the foundations for the second tower? A month from now? Maybe longer?
You know Felix, this reminds me of the incredible books Ive read over the years about the space race. Your whole channel feels like a video version of that. You should write the book when we land on Mars.
Felix, you can't get a better advertiser than an ambulance chaser legal firm? That feels so low brow for such a good channel.
Morgan and Morgan are ambulance chasing scum. It's a shame you guys are accepting money from them.
It's a shame you guys are taking money from Morgan and Morgan. They are definitely not what people would call a respectable group.
Yes and yes. Booster + ship tested in April. Elon Time of course. And Yes, tower foundations April.
RIP Thomas Stafford. A legend of the space program.
Rest in peace sir thomas stafford
I met Thomas Stanford when I was very young, and have an autographed photo of him hanging in my home. A lifetime of interest in space flight and exploration started with that meeting.
At least get his name correct if you're going to post a "tribute" (which sounds more like a "look at me" wank).
Thanks Felix for the tribute to Lt Gen Stafford
US Naval Academy, class of 1952.
@@dlkramer88 Thank you for that. I was calling him "Whataboutit!? guy".
The Astronauts Astronaut.
The shock waves from those 33 raptors propagating through the launch site is certainly something to behold
I agree and I also want to hear more analysis from experts from NASA and SpaceX on the shock waves and the affect on launch infrastructure and the booster/star ship as well.
And all wasted in one go.
Congratulations on 400k subscribers!
They're totally on a different timeline. I'd very much love to work for SpaceX. Really
I watch WAI and other CZcams content providers on a regular basis and love your show.
However one of the reasons I watch streaming content is that I do not want to bombarded with commercials for products and services that are not necessarily related to the content I am consuming.
Sorry, but I’m not a fan of the law firm commercials in the middle of this show. I’m not trying to be negative, but just wanted to let you know my opinion.
Felix, keep up the great work you do with WAI! Love the show!
I agree that it's not ideal, but at the same time it's really easy to just skip through, and if that's what it takes to keep the quality content coming, then I'm all for it!
Well then, become like a paid subscriber.
I use an extension called “sponsor block” on my Firefox that skips it automatically for most videos.
Don’t want to hear your opinion Dude ! WAI is Great Dude. If you don’t like it Don’t watch it ! Go somewhere else. SEE YA
Then do a monthly Subscription. Even $5 dollars.
Good speed, General Stafford. One of the last Steely Eyed Missile Men.
Glue heat tiles to the mega tower legs. Good way to test them.
Elon would like
Thanks for another great update Felix, you rock
Great video. You nod to Ed was lovely
Excellent stuff bro
Thank you, Felix. This was very informative, as usual.
This was how they made Merlin the best ICE from the WWII. They run it at maximum power until fails, dismantle, and redesign again the failure source...
Insurance commercials?,... now I'm watching TV,... lol
Insurance commercials means a CZcamsr has gone big!
@@pricelessppp aka: sold out.
@@ThatOpalGuy no not really
This was a really interesting video! I watched it 3 times. Thanks for including the momentous "Space Handshake". 😊
Very nice tribute to Stafford.
Thanks for these news.
Hey Felix, minor correction, Gemini 6A and 7 did not dock. Seven had no docking port. They merely rendezvoused. Too bad about Tom Stafford. RIP Tom. Will any Apollo astronauts live to see the next man walk on the Moon?
The person most likely to live to see it is probably Buzz Aldrin, or Jim Lovell.
There are still four alive out of the original 24: Aldrin (Apollo 11), David Scott (Apollo 15), Charles Duke (Apollo 16), and Harrison Schmitt (Apollo 17).
@@terrysullivan1992Shit, did Lovell die?
@@paulmichaelfreedman8334no, and neither has Bill Anders nor Fred Haise.
The above listed four are of the twelve that actually stepped foot on the moon.
@@michaelmicek "Out of the original 24" , it's all there, silly me.
Thank you for your vids, from Rostock
This was a very interesting episode! I know so little about space history!
Thanks for a great episode and nice bit of reminder of space history!
Another amazing, top-shelf video. Videos like this are why I'm happy I cut the cable 15 years ago!
Love the updates Felix and team.
nice thx for the news
Great episode Felix. Thank you!
Lots going on everywhere, that's for sure.
Awesome Video 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
very informative video. Thanks
Excellent Video! Thank you Felix and Team.
Also thank you for your Tribute to Lt. Gen Stafford, one of the Pioneers of Space.
RIP, Thomas. You are remembered.
Thanks!
❤ Another Great Segment Felix..
That's some turnaround wow and getting faster onwards and upwards 😊
Thanks guys!
ONLY SIX WEEKS FOR IFT-4 ? ? ? THIS IS GREAT NEWS ! ! !🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Six weeks for FAA to provide their bureaucratic approval for public safety for another Spacex Starship rocket launch is far too long ! They should refrain from playing politics !
Elon time???!!! 🧐🙏😂❤️🔥
@@cboy-ou2hrSo 12 weeks?
Felix, I really enjoy your bloopers at the end of your videos !
Fantastic news across the board...
Thanks Felix for your tribute to Thomas Stafford 😊
Nice ...can't wait longer time
what are you waiting for exactly?
@@totobeni for 4 flight bro ,until its can fly like falcon 9 reguraly 🤩
I suggest installing RCS 1:49 thrusters to be added before the next launch before they launch
i think SpaceX know what they are doing.
0:22 Man, it's still incredible! It's beautiful forever!
Love the Red Line Heli ! Wow Fantastic !
Super Cool
Excellent episode! Just a note Felix: it’s Burt Rutan, like Roo tan 😊. Cool guy.
Thanks for the show
Thanks for a job well don
Amazing presentation by Felix. This particular show I will be viewing several times . Great cntent and delivery. WAI is
the best!
Gotta dodge those gators in the road ..... Hey, how about a gator in space? Another SpaceX first!!!..... Great video, Thanks
thx Felix
The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.
Behind the window was a reflection that only instilled fear.
It was very good that you mentioned Thomas Stanford, good idea for the future episodes , maybe at the end to mention the Space pioneers
May the forth test flight be with us
I think it will be successful!
@@pricelesspppStar Wars is History ✌️
I love that you took time out in your rundown of all the exciting current space developments to talk about the life of Tom Stafford! We owe so much to those early pioneers of space travel! Thanks!
The high bay reminded me of a cabinet in a pool hall that holds all the pool cues. Which one do you use? So many choices.
Howdy from Temple, Texas! Howz y'all?
Fine eulogy, Felix. Thank you.
Exciting news!
You're wrong about the tower. My brother is an operations manager with Archer, a drilling company. They provided the drawworks for the first tower and he sent me this message recently.
"Mark Robertson has another Purchase Order from spacex to extend launch pad tower by an additional 400ft so away to design sheaves/drill line/engineer drawworks to take all the additional drill line for the extended tower."
Looks like tower 2 (3?) is to be extended for next gen Starship. Tower 2 (3?) will be taller.
I do have pictures of Florida's Starfactory after driving pass it during a trip to kennedy, Including some tower pieces.
Facinating Felix! Can't wait for the 4th launch of Starship after the enormous sucess of the 3rd launch! ~ R
I think the second launch tower will be taller in order to accommodate starship V2 and/or V3. They will also fix some flaws tower 1 still have.
Is it just me or does Felix talk to us like we’re both smart and ignorant at the same time 😂 Love you Felix 😉
This is by far the best content production on SpaceX than other CZcamsrs. I love Felix’s delivery.
Same here. I like the detail that Felix provides. I became a subscriber back in the beginning with him. This is my goto channel for Spacex news.
6 week turn around?! Bloody hell!! Spacex gets faster and faster... Can't wait to see the 4th attempt!! 🙂
Good coverage, as always, Felix, crew and Starman.
May I suggest a video on the different SpaceX construction cranes? I think they are amazing machines.
I think they could build Pyramids of the Egyptian size, with the loads they maneuver today.
Just saying...also, steel instead of copper tools. ;)
Congrats on passing 400K subs. Hope you made it in time for your Bday.
May 4th launch
Amazing how much Neutron looks like the Blofeld spacecraft in "You Only Live Twice". Back in those days as a kid, I thought it was stupid for a rocket to land on Earth by thrust alone. Now I find out that the propellant requirements for a "hover slam" are about the same penalty as the extra weight of a giant parachute. Who knew?
May the 4th be with you!!!
10s longer episode please
6 to 9 more launches this year? i'm picking up what you're putting down.
I am surprised that tower 2 isn't 10-20 metres taller, given plans to grow the stack
Also, that the QD arm height isn't repositionable
I thought they'd make the tower taller too. But making the QD arm adjustable in height would be a true cryogenic engineering challenge. Accordian-fold fuel piping? no. Telescoping insulated piping that doesn't leak regardless of temperature changes? probably not. A huge elbow along the exterior of the tower with rotary joints? maybe. Spacex could probably figure it out, but hopefully, there won't be frequent changes in the booster height.
Thank you for your segment on Tom Stafford. He was a dynamic force in the industry.
Re-entry dynamics and control authority (for both stages) appear to me quite challenging, at the moment
Nice X-Files insert!
HI
:) Love your effort XD
Well done on the tribute to LT. general Strafford
Pronounced Burt RooTan, don't want to make Burt mad! 😁 Keep up the great work Felix and team!
The most complex thing about a Stage 0 is the OLM itself. The first one took many months at the build site and as I recall a near-equal amount of time after being installed on the legs. I don't know if this time can be shortened based on the earlier experience or not. There was a lot to do.
Even though he thought the world was flat he didn’t see the irony of wanting to travel around the world.
Very nice tribute to General Stamford.
Can't wait for IFT4!
Hey, Felix! Your friendly, neighbourhood Cznadian proof reader here. First off, Gemini 6A and Gemini 7 did NOT dock with each other during the two spacecraft mission. They did rendezvous, but did not come into contact with each other. I'll gently slap your writer's wrists for that one. Your brief obit and memorial for General Stafford was very touching. Thjere was quite the shift in mood between Apollo 8, which many people think was the true hero of the Apollo Propgramme, and Apollo 10, which also went to the moon, and was a far more complex flcight plan than 8. '69 was a VERY good ytear for crewed spaceflight, and I feel priveledged, and ancient, for being old enough (9 years) to remember Apollo 10 in May '69, Since Apollo 8 had 'already done it', Apollo 10 felt like a 'routine' mission- until it came time for the LM Snoopy at 50,000 feet above the lunar surface had a weee glitch when the ascent stage seperated from the decent stage. Cernan gets the blame for hitting the same switch twice, but it was Staffoird at the LM controls who rescuedan out of control LM to make it back to JHohm Young in Charlie Brown. Until Apollo 13 the next year, this was about as scary a near-miss as Apollo ever had. There just aren\t that may Apollo astros still around. Thank God Charlie Duke was the youngest Apollo astros, and is still talking about it. You should interview him if you get a chance. Thanks again for your great programme.
You're a good proof reader and fact checker! But it's amusing that your own text could use some proof reading. I have fat fingers too.☺
99 Raptor engines in the gulf, 99 Raptor engines...
Aforementioned; is one of Felix's favorite words.
Rutan is pronounced roo tan. Great video!
Let’s hope for a launch on Star Wars day - May the 4th be with you!
Thanks for your tribute to astronaut Stafford ❤. Very much appreciated, from IAM Shure, many of us,
I wonder if the OLM-2 will have any design changes with the first one being troublesome
Thank You - YOU ROCK. The Launch Site, MUST BE ABLE to withstand launches WITHOUT having to do regular rework at every launch. The components MUST BE OVERDESIGNED /over engineered to be very robust. Just my thoughts.
yes. Full stack.
Can't wait to see next R.U.D.E.
Still have the problem of losing tiles, wont be an easy fix.
The only thing that would slow down the next launch is determining the problems with IFT-3 and applying fixes. The GSE seems to be in very good shape after IFT-3 launch needing minimal repairs and possible small upgrades to guard against the same damage happening again. The next ship and booster are pretty much ready to go and assuming there are no major changes required after completing analysis of IFT-3, 6 weeks sounds perfectly reasonable.
So I have been thinking that SpaceX should use their heat tiles they use on the ship and place them on the quick release. They could actually attach them to the sides of the quick release and the cladding they put the steel pieces on the launch stand at ground zero. So many uses for the heat tiles at ground zero!
Yet i fear the heat tiles will pose a huge challenge. Im thinking they will test other means of heat protection.
The heat tiles on the ship experience very different forces than what you are suggesting. They do get vibrated during liftoff and experience strong, but smooth, airflow up through max Q, and then on re-entry there is compression of air ahead of them and great heat from the resulting plasma, which they are designed to take -- but any tiles on the launch pad would undergo extreme buffeting by the chaotic exhaust of the 33 raptors. They could stand the heat, but would get torn off by the turbulent "blow torch." Remember the huge pieces of concrete and the vast quantity of sand lofted by that blowtorch at less than full power!
Safty, the more the best!
You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.
Helicopter flight incoming today 😊🚁
Ramp it up, baby, yeah!
6-9 launches more... amazing progress will be made during these flight tests.
