- Huddersfield station is about to be rebuilt so it was good that Braunton would be heading through the old station little changed from the age of steam. The stone buildings are listed but not so the overall roof. Around 15 minutes later there was a train to York which going a shorter way would get me into York in good time to see Braunton arrive, the train was however delayed by 8 minutes due to a preceding train filling the tunnel with smoke. How long will it be before trans do not run when there is fog. I wasted a walk to the turntable as Braunton was dragged backwards on the return working.

Lovely video of a gorgeous steam locomotive!! It’s wonderful to see them in use instead of in the scrap yard awaiting dismantling!!
Oh!! It’s a West Country Class, Braunton!! A great locomotive that hauls regular trains often.
It is indeed a West Country. Very similar to the Merchant Navy Class
Braunton looks majestic. Paintwork excellent.
The sun was bright and she looked really good apart from round the washout plugs. I noticed one more shiny and it looks like brass, never seen that metal used before if it is.
Cracking video Cedar and a good capture on departure with the 43s and 66 excellent.
Epic video. Nice close ups of Braunton. Showing signs of hard work and nice to see 47828 fond memory's of that late 80s-90s
She is looking good but I did notice the patch of rust on the firebox then saw the odd washout plug so took a closer look. It appears to be brass but I have never seen that before so could be just the way the sun was on it. I wish I had known they were not turning her and insead of wasting an hour at the turntable could of gone to have a look at the HST power cars Oh well
Very nice, plenty of action and trains to see there!
Thank you Jimmy Glad you enjoyed watching
The Bulleid locomotives are still used occasionally on mainline luxury trains, being preferred by Michael Roux for hauling the VSOE.
I have not seen VSOE hauled by steam in real but have on video. The train came to my area years ago and I got photos of it. Very posh
@@cedarcam Well I actually did the last steam VSOE all the way to Istanbul. I volunteered to be one of the stewards on the train.
@@Madonsteamrailways That must of been a great adventure.
Clan Line is the preferred choice, but not available presently.
@@paulcaswell2813 I don't know where Clan Line is at the moment. Last I heard was they are doing work on the boiler
On top of that, the steam locomotive is a Bulleid Merchant Navy Class.
West Country, but carrying a Merchant Navy-type headboard!
12 coaches plus the lump on the back. Power.
Yes a heavy load and no problem getting it moving
Nice video😅
Thank you Marie
the other train is a GAS
Which other train
