- Well-known Guildford Historian David Rose has helped Geoff produce this new film entitled ‘When the Railways came to Guildford’ Part 1 and covers the history of the railways coming to Guildford in 1845 and its impact on the town to the the changeover of traction from steam to the diesels and electrics.
Part 1 concludes with the closure of Guildford Motive Power Depot in July 1967.
A tremendous selection of unseen photographs are included.
Part 2 (1967-present day) will follow soon.
