“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.
In concert they pull some insanely complex mixes. The three in the back have been together since middle school. They know each other's thoughts.

They sound so good together, and they have some AMAZING medleys and evolution of videos for you to delve into, not to mention their original music as well, and I think you would absolutely LOVE them :-)

edwin semidey True, it’s the only way to really hear the bass, either that or have a speaker system with a subwoofer. Without the bass you aren’t getting the full PTX experience.
Stuck for words. Such amazing talent. It takes years to hone that talent. Oh, and I love Pentatonix. Love this vid. You talk a lot about experimenting with the different sounds you can make with your mouth. I think this is a great example that each one brings to the table.

The "Pentatonix" are a great ensemble. I had not seen their Rihanna Medley, so thank you for the beautiful video. I absolutely adore their different styles, and how they embrace each personality to make an unstoppable team. They're also incredible performers. Some music theory practices they utilize to make the songs more enticing:
1. Rhythmic dynamics: changing the macro and micro beat for each song
2. Harmonies: three and four part harmonies, creating cadences, and leading tones
3. Articulation: beat boxer is amazing, use clear staccato vowels and rests to add intrigue after melodic passages

When you find this high for Mitch? Then you should see the Sugarplum fairy or AHA! they did. In those vids, you find Avi Kaplan as the Base. He was base in the Original setting.
Pentatonix for one of a better phrase are absolutely shit hot!! Their harmonies are utter perfection. I listen and watch their videos a hell of a lot!! Their version of Hallelujah is always a favourite of mine. You should review that at some point Rebecca? I see other folk have said the same. 😉 Again the harmonies are something that gives you duck bumps (goose bumps) haha. Great video again. Thank you xxx

Yuns are gonna get SOOOOOO many requests for this group because they are absolutely perfect...even live they sound just like u hear them on their videos! My opinion is to take about a 6 month leave from work and life in general and start from the very beginning! They have been perfect from day 1! :)

I love the dynamic between you two! 😅 I enjoyed your break down of the interactions within the 3 main vocalists. It was fun hearing you try to NOT say "in sync" (for obvious reasons) yet it was the best phrase to sum it up. It's so true that they have very different styles as soloists yet when they harmonize together they are able to take on that Coral type of voice where you are one part of a whole and you're not trying to stand out. It's a beautiful thing that they are able to do. All three of them grew up as friends and met through Community Theater around the age of 10. The three main vocalist attempted to put together a new sound with acapella and popular music and used their voices as instruments in there later high school years. They arranged an amazing cover of "Telephone" by Lady Gaga that only required three voices and it was THAT video that pretty much grabbed people's attention and made "The Trio" realize that maybe this could be something big.

You should really hear black is the colour of my true loves hair ft avi. The deep vocal base is insane. It literally made my windows buzz. Avi used to be the bass for pentatonix.

Rihanna is my poker music. :) PTX are one of my favourite acapella groups. I love Rihanna's diction - in many of her songs she moves between her Barbados patois and a more mainstream US RnB pronunciation. It adds a level of subtle variation to songs that really lift them up.

This collection has been performed on their summer tour, so they've had quite a bit of time to perfect it. On the tour, they also do choreography as they sing, so this version was probably easy for them!

More Pentatonix definitely. But Christina Grimmie was an AMAZING singer she started on CZcams, then made it to the top 3 on The Voice. She went back to CZcams and even released original music. She was shot by a stalker after a show but she was so talented. Her cover of Heroes is amazing. But any of them would be a pleasure to watch. Big voice in a tiny package.

Except for Matt the bass who's new to the group, they've all had non A Capella projects outside of Pentatonix. Kirstin has a solo album and appeared on Broadway in Kinky Boots, The other lead singers, Scott and Mitch, turned their vlog Superfruit into a two man musical act with a successfull album complete vith a video for every song as well as a tour. Perhaps the most musically accomplished is Kevin Olusola, the beatboxer. He's a professional classical cellist, classical saxophonist, singer, composer and arranger. His solo album "The Renegade" topped the contemporary classical charts. Since then he's had multiple successful singles. Kevin's one man looping covers are a sight to behold, especially "Down" where his electric cello shredding would make Jimmy Page cry.

The guy (Matt Sallee) on the lower left is new in 2018. Older videos have one AA member, the beat boxer. The older videos show a guy (Avi Kaplan) with a beard. He left last year. Avi is a different bass than Matt. They’re both great.
