  • In this video I create a furniture moving dolly or cart to help manage a lowboy, or a long, low dresser, so I can reposition it while working on the drawers, or get it out of the way while working on the body of the dresser.
These Carts or dollies are very helpful in managing large dressers if you have a rental space or a garage with multiple pieces.
I find it helps to have a card for each piece of furniture if I need to move it somewhere to present it to a potential customer.
Because nothing will burn you out faster than a sore back when it comes to Flipping Furniture.
The Key to this design is you can use some one by fours and make the cart as wide as you want and you just add a platform on the ends rather than wasting a full sheet of plywood covering the entire dolly or cart assembly.
Make sure that you use the appropriate caster for your service. If you have a smooth commercial cement floor than a 2 inch caster will probably be enough to handle even large furniture pieces. But if you have an even outside pavement and cracks, then you’ll want at least a 3 inch and probably be happier with a four or even a 5 inch caster.
I believe The lumber I used came from a neighbor who is cleaning out a garage for free, the plywood was from the same garage, I think, and the casters I bought at a thrift store or building materials salvage store.
So the cart cost me about 10 American dollars With tax and the Tek screws.
The Drywall screws came from a bathroom remodel so they were free. The only issue with those is that they end up with drywall compound or mud jammed in the cross, where the bit has to plug-in in the screwheads.
