Kanye was pretty well respected as an artist for years but even in his biggest and best songs there were plenty of writers credited and no one who understood the genre had an actual problem.

A rapper having a Ghostwriter isn't the same as a youtube channel having an editor, It would be equivalent to a script writer more so. Imagine a famous documentary channel garnering accolades for their amazing scripts, fronting as if they made the topic, themes and ideas all themselves. Only for it to come out how they had someone else create it for them. You wouldn't have faith they were as good of a creator as you once thought would you? An editor for a channel would rather be a producer for a rapper. Just like most channels and their editors, an artist isn't producing their own music. Some do, most don't. Same with youtubers and video editing.
Being known for phenomenal poetry and amazing lyrical capabilities is what many rappers wish for. Creating and writing your own music comes with great pride obviously, which is why having ghostwriters is so terrible.

You can't even compare CZcams and music like that. Having ghostwriters is better compared to having someone else paint something and you claim it as your artistic vision. CZcams is all about production. Even scriptwriters are a part of production. Songwriters (especially in rap and hip hop) are artists. So when someone else writes their lyrics, it just comes off as fake and ingenuine. It shows that you are just doing it for the money, and it's also disrespectful to those who put in the work themselves if you pretend like you make your own stuff.

The problem with ghost writers in rap is that rap music isnt made to exclusively sound good but to say shit. Drake is barely a rapper, he's a pop artist. he makes pop music, music that can be played in a party to have people dance to it while not really worrying about the lyrics. Kendrick on the other hand with albums like TPAB and GKMC is a rapper, he actually says shit in his songs. whether it be from "You Aint Gotta Lie" which talks about faking hood for validation (comedicly fits for drake) or "DUCKWORTH" which tells a story about his dad and the head of his label and how one thing could've ended with him growing up without a father and becoming victim to gang violence.
J-cole is a mix of both where he kinda says something but more so focuses on making it sound good. never was much of a fan. to me listening to j-cole is like eating a burger with no cheese, lettuce, or condiments. just beef and some buns
