I’m glad. Dashcon was an event where 2 grown adults drunk off their ass handed the responsibility and reins to a literal child to plan a gigantic event. It was unfair and shitty and I don’t blame the kid at all (besides biting off more than they could chew, like any child).
Glasgow was made by an adult scammer who jokes about the nonsense he produced. It’s better to compare a failed event to one orchestrated by an actual adult.

3:00 English is one of the 2 native languages of the Phillipines (alongside Tagalog, both are used interchangably in conversation).
There is a difference between a native and an official one though. Most of us aren't even that fluent.
@@cruzjohnalexandert.2254OP isn't entirely wrong but to be more accurate, English and Filipino (which is primarily Tagalog but can include your mother tongue) are both the official language of the Philippines. Keep in mind that the event was in Metro Manila where most people can communicate in English and is where the major universities are located. Formal documents are still written in English.
The misspelling was still pretty dumb. It had nothing to do with pronunciation or sentence structure.

Though, I cannot help but to notice that most filipinos tend to struggle with spelling words in english, but then again it's just a minor mistake lmao.
They are both official languages, but even if we could understand English, it doesn't mean most of us will be proficient at speaking it.
Also that's not an excuse. If you're doing something professional, there should be someone doing quality control before anything's final.

But basically what happened was that a restaurant organised a Bluey meet and greet and promised parents that Bluey herself would show up, because Bluey is so popular dozens of parents showed up with their kids expecting to see one of those expensive Bluey costumes but instead it was a guy in a Bluey onesie that looked like it was from Wish.... honestly the whole situation was really hilarious because some of those parents went absolutely berserk and it even ended up on the news

Coming from personal experience in Filipino conventions. The Largest conventions (often occupying an entire building) would only cost at most 600 php. 1 to 1.5k would be 3 days of the convention with the most expensive VIP ticket and all the benefits that comes with it. 300 dollars USD would basically be the entire salary of an average white collar working in the Philippines. The venue itself is a common spot for larger conventions like Ozine (basically Otaku themed event). The latest Ozine event only costed 150 php.
Many friends outright skipped the event due to it coinciding with larger, cheaper and more renowned events in the same week.
Many of the "features" of the convention like enhanced security was influenced by the events from the previous year. Conquest was by far largest convention last year however with poor security, terrible management and long lines, it made the experience a total nightmare for many.

Agreed the switch can run amazing looking and running games like Doom, NieR Automata, and Octopath 2 at a stable 30 fps. Switch haters take one look at SV gameplay or a video of a poorly emulated and pirated TotK framedata check and judge the entire system off that.

@@nmr7203 The idea came from "more FPS means smoother game." The truth is that a stable FPS is better than a high amount of FPS. 30 and 60 are nearly invisible differences to most people. We already have tons of videos of people using AI to interpolate anime scenes into 60 FPS and it gets rid of all the beauty and handiwork of the artists.

Only SV runs badly. The other Pokemon games on Switch all run at a stable 30fps or 60 fps for Legends and SwSh in places. Even though the switch is underpowered, the usual switch game doesn't run as poorly as people says it does.

This situation is truly one of the situations
A lot of these stories is that people don’t realise how much these conventions cost. The building alone costs a fortune for just a few days. Staff, refreshments and legal fees are another thing. It’s why larger conventions have so many sponsors and businesses show up with their own stands. Even small events can costs hundreds of thousands of dollars and even millions some times. Planning and marketing also costs a lot and requires teams of people. Decorations need to be planned sometimes months in advanced and commissioned at high prices. What a lot of these small conventions are is comparable to a kid building their own Pc without realising they need a SSD, power supply, Motherboard and fans. There is a lot which people overlook or don’t think about at all.
God I love the Philippines
