Learned this tune for a friend's wedding recently and thought it'd be a good one to record while I was passing through Tahoe on the way back home. Messed up a little bit on the last verse, but it's real, y'know? Shoutout to Fallen Leaf Lake for being an absolute beauty and making the sunset look extra nice, and Elle for shooting this one for me.

So glad we were able to capture this beautiful moment right before the sunset near Tahoe. Just as Toni was finishing the song and I was putting the camera away, some locals were walking up to watch the sunset at this spot-also fans of the Dead. We jammed and talked with them for a while until it got dark, and then we all went on our way. A great memory! Hope y’all enjoy Toni’s take on Ripple. :) -Elle

If you ever have a chance, please stop by and perform at former Rancho Olompali (now a State Park) near Novato, CA. This is where the Dead hung out, sang, and lived in the late 60s.
As a road warrior of over 300 Dead shows (71-95) I just love when young musicians carry the torch.

We played this song at my dad's funeral. I haven't been able to listen without a tear in my eye since. Dad would have absolutely loved y'all. He was a huge fan of folk rock and pretty female voices. He passed in March of 05. He will always be with me listening to your music.

For my 15th birthday, in 1972, my older brother gave me a copy of Workingmans Dead and took a friend and I to see my first concert, the Grateful Dead in KCK 11/72. Over 50 years later Hunter’s words and Garcia’s music still inspire me and I’m still a DeadHead. I’m pleased younger generations continue to be inspired too! When I was 18, I met Jerry Garcia twice. Both times it was around 2am in the morning. The Grateful Dead would be performing at the Carrier Dome, and after the show, they’d end-up at my truck stop. I would come inside from working on a tractor trailer, just as Jerry would come strolling out of the diner, with the check in his hand.
Toni…so gentle, peaceful, quieting…sweet lullaby lady. Easy playing, true to every note…clear and clean as mountain air. Blessed. Gifted. Thank you, ma’am! More please. Much more

This tune is incredibly profound for me, playing from the ICU nursing station seemingly forever (a recording of the Dead, appropriately) as I struggled on the long walk back to this world of 10,000 sorrows & 10,000 joys from a stroke in 2014. Best cover ever 💞. Rob & his great-great-grandpa would approve.

It almost makes me want to cry... the beautiful scenery background, the music and the energy I feel through my computer of Jerry listening down and smiling while you play and sing this song. This is what makes me want to learn how to play my guitar.

This song in particular always creates goose bumps. I worked for Jerry. There was a shadow effect. I followed him around, that may be so, but how did the others become part of my life ? Life is so strange.

I lived in San Francisco and in Sonoma County in the late 60’s early 70’s and I played this tune for years along with so many acoustic songs that I wrote myself, and this is still one of my favorites and it moves me deeply to hear such a beautiful rendition 🕊️💜🕊️🎶

When I play it and someone tries to point out any misses I just say that is my version! My song fav's to play in order,,,Ripple, The Weight, Into the Mystic, Clay Pigeons, In Spite of Ourselves, Galway Girl (Earle)....on and on. Then my own.
All the live Dead recordings have hesitations that are passed over like so many Ripples. This is beautiful, Toni. Don’t doubt it! You’re playing live with “the gold of sunshine.”
