I’m 61 and still can’t hear this song without getting a chill.
Same chills at 76. They were a year above me at college in Cambridge and David lived just around the corner from me around 1956 at Grantchester Meadows road, Newnham, all those years ago
Same here at 61
Same here at 68.
True! I have goose bumps listening to this.
67 and same thing
Bravo - you know this song was released Sept 12, 1975 - I was a very young 25 and now I'm smelling 70. It's like I went to this party and when I woke up - oh well nice to see the young generation still enjoying the classics - they will go on forever. You both gave an excellent performance - thank you.
Was in the 1/2 ACR just about to get out of the ARMY when this came out
70? - I'm already there. lol. I love this more than the original. And how cool is Toni??
not far behind you , was 19 when it was released , fabulous job lasses , clean and pure music , think it's better than the original
Shine on, Wasc Lit
73 here and just learning the guitar. I can almost recognize some of the songs Im trying to play.
I came in for the genius nerdy shorts on Elle's other channel, stumbled over the great Chuck Berry cover and became afraid to click at it when I saw this Pink Floyd cover. It was for no reason, because you guys did it perfectly amazing. Many thanks for that!
I know the feeling and I have not been disappointed yet
Same.
This is a song that reminds me of the darkest period in my life, more than 50 years ago. It still brings tears to my eyes, because it takes me into the experience of how I felt and how I was then. It is the young adult that is still inside of me. Loaded with cocaine, other drugs and alcohol just to fight a devastating loneliness. It is so weird what music can do. Like Satie’s Gnossienne, that has the same effect on me. It brings a me back that I pity and can embrace now. This music is forever connected to that young woman.
My wife died 3 years ago and I always think of her when I hear this. Amazing song for an amazing woman.
The Great Algorithm delivered me to Elle's weird planetary poetry, and now I'm here grooving to a fabulous Pink Floyd cover. This rendition sent me right back to sometime in the late 1970s, the Los Angeles Forum, 12th row floor stage right, toking like a minute man, completely in synch with everything real.
I love how you sang the guitar solo along with the guitar just like David Gilmour does.
The simplicity and pureness of your playing is like a breath of fresh ocean air. No amps, no technology, no vocal assistance - Jesus that was a joy to listen to. I REALLY like your interpretations and music. Wish more musicians were like this
But....they are here. ;) Sorry, just a silly joke thinking about what you said and the title of the song. I agree with you-my favorite music is as old as I am.
Bingo.
the microphone is a technology, plug in to an amplifier, to make their voice hear louder, in short vocal assistant 🤣
I wish more people would understand that playing music is supposed to be interpretation not following precisely the dots. Well done girls! You rock!
still gotta sound good
s hfr ..... Dude. Stating the obvious is not necessary.
@@duderoony But isn't this actually a fairly clear example of following the dots rather precisely, rather than a personal interpretation with a bit of emotion, grit and imperfection? A little "too competent" perhaps?
Music is a form of expression, of course. It's not "supposed to be" anything.
When I play, I play mostly for myself.
If others happen to like what they're hearing, well, that's cool too.
With computers and programs like pro tools people are now used to sterile copy's of things sadly.
I'm a "Boomer" (64), so like many my age who've been relegated to staying home, I've been spending the majority of my time on CZcams and the majority of that listening to music. My taste is as eclectic as it comes... a typical day starting with Mozart, to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, making a left turn to Miles Davis, Hancock, taking a 180 to Public Enemy, Tupac, and maybe ending up with some Dylan, and Neil Young. The next day it's a different journey, down different streets, but the destination is always the same...inner peace.
Yesterday, the CZcams algorithm gods suggested "Reina del Cid" "Who?? Ok, I'll bite", I said.
All I'll say is some 28 hours later I've listened to about 25 of their covers, followed them on Facebook, will join their Patreon page, and will wait with bated breathe for their streaming Bluegrass concert the end of this month. Their sound simply resonates within me in a way like nothing has recently. Such a pleasant surprise. Amazing talent!! Thank you!
Tupac . Likes. Men. The. End .
Welcome to the world of Reina del Cid! Glad to have you!
Reina del cid? Yes two very nice girls with a lot of talent... From France.
Toni is really amazing, she always takes a back seat in the videos but she is the real star here, her playing is simply amazing, her singing is great too. Nice job!
Agree! would love to see more of Toni singing.
I agree to a certain point.
But I don't think either of them really takes a back seat to the other.
They compliment each other perfectly.
Elle's Rhythm guitar blends perfectly with Toni's lead, and Toni's harmony just meshes with Elle's lead vocals.
It's hard to imagine either of these two phenomenal young ladies performing without the other.
@mcginnin6 I can’t help noticing you make this “she always takes a back sear” comment to a video in which Toni is literally sitting in the foreground in front of Elle. Thankfully, it’s about the harmony they create together, and not a competition. What makes any group awesome is the synergy of what they can do together, that none of them can do alone.
Love this duo!! This girl has a memorable voice that makes every song she sings hers.
Do you two even realize how good you are? Unbelievable!
As an over 50 years fan of Pink Floyd I've heard dozens and dozens of versions of this song by a lot of great musicians. But this simple and modest version of Toni and Rachelle realy touches my heart ... Thank you my sweet ladies ! And please go on on the road of you two together ... You two fill so many hearts with joy and happiness !
I am right there with you, these two are amazing!! I only recently found Raina and every next song I hear is better then the last but their all phenomenal!!
You could make a hell of a compilation album on cover versions of this song. I'd put them on it no problem☆

Im 73 and a retired rock saxophonist. We start by following the dots, then acquire the skills and experience to compile our own. Rock on, girls!
Y’all’s voices just cut through so beautifully , music just soothes the soul ,
This song makes me think of my long lost brother. Mental illness got him after high school. He was a good guy and I miss him so much. I cry when I think of his pain.
When we I was 14 my best freind lost his father to mental illness he was given his record collection which consisted of every pink floyd album out at the time n some other classics still to this day we well up to this song sadly my freind has been battling mental illness now fur a number of years but he will never give in he fights everyday. Shine on lad !!
Sad
God bless you both
It's a weird challenging world. It's harder to remember the suffering of someone you love than to suffer yourself sometimes. You have companions in your feelings.
I'm 50 and played Bass for a living for most of my life and you girls make me want to go pick up my guitar every time I watch! Thanks so much for every video!
Adventures of Frank and Tina Wait .... I’m on my way over to you .......
@@tubes5150 thank you sir!
What's really fun about this is that late in the song when the two of you are playing together, the two guitars *ring* like Gilmour's big damn 12 is really there... excellently done.
I could cry. My favorite PF song. Such a beautiful rendition. This week was one of the lowest points of my life. Hearing this made it a little better. Thank you. ❤
Hope things picked up for you man.
Wonderful rendition, ladies. I grew up in the 60s and 70s. That is my favorite Pink Floyd album. I saw them in concert on the Wish You Were Here tour right after the album was released. They played the whole album straight through, turned on the lights, took a 15-minute break - much to the chagrin of those of us in the audience who were not prepared to have the house lights come on that soon, and then they played Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety. Suffice it to say, it was a very magical night which I will never forget.
I saw them on that tour too, at the Colston Hall in Bristol, UK.
@@Profolly They played here in Kansas City, at Kemper Arena. I guessing your hair was shoulder-length back then, as well. And certainly not short and grey. We are kind of dating ourselves, Mark! :)
Yes it's my one of favourite albums
You guys were lucky. I was just a few years too young and had no one to take me. What an awesome memory. Thanks.
I saw them in Zurich, same delight!
This is the greatest song ever written and I'll never tire of hearing talented musicians interpret it and perform it in their own style
I totally agree ✌️
This song was played at my 16 year old celebration of life. Makes me happy and sad. Great job girls!
@@andrewcalvert2801 Agreed. It will be played at my memorial service - someday!
Ух, какое начало!....Good!..
An absolutely beautiful, very clean and personal version of a classic. This shows yet again how great music is timeless, and each performer can take it , make it their own and add to the rich tapestry.
Very well done. I love Toni's little "duet" with the guitar during the bridge :D
Aaron Catron it was adorable
...and the little clip from The Entertainer at the end. “I’ve created a monster!”
singing along with your own solo is fricking HARD. so much respect to her, wow.
@@livingroomsuperstar Yes, I agree. Her string skills are excellent coupled with perfect timing makes her dangerous.
Yes it is quite a unique and interesting sound. Per wiki the term is “scat singing” and it’s what David Gilmour does live and on the record.
My love, my friend, my wife died 14 years ago and this song was for her.
😔💔 I feel that pain too. Im sorry for your loss. I hope the sun shines again for you.
i'm sorry for you !
You and her will be meet soon!
This is the God law❤🧡
Lost mine 10 years ago Brother
GOD BLESS 😥
I lost mine 6 mounths ago.
She is so good over there, near of Jesus.
But for me, it's so hard for now.
God bless us!

I met my best friend when I was 5. We were inseparable till his death at 18 killed by a drunk driver. This song carried me thru.
Haven't been able to listen to it in 36 years! I love you guys.
I almost made it through this time. Great interpretation. Still too much. Still my heart burns like a forest fire ... But you guys helped. Probably never listen again. But, you helped
Me and you'll never even know it. Thank you ♥️
Amazing, amazing, amazing. As usual, these girls took a song,in this case,a rock anthem, and knocked it out of the park. Toni's beautiful riff at the end would've made even Mr Gilmour sit up and raise an eyebrow. Unreal girls. Loved it👏👏👏👏
My younger son passed away 4 years ago at age of 19 , when I hear this song I remember him and cry
I'm sorry, man.
I'm so sad to learn that you lost your dear son. My sincere condolences to you.

I also wish David Gilmour here and there with Tony and Reinal del Cid.
When I was young, I was a big fan of Pink F. I am so happy to here their song from you.
@wavygr I have no idea about Cyd Barret. But I love this song. I love Roger Waters and David G.
@@user-kz2co2tl1b Syd Barrett was only on the first couple of albums. Wild stuff.
What a beautifully smooth and sweet voice and a lovely arrangement by both of you. So glad I stumbled on your musical talents.
Brought chills down my spine. Memories of my youth. '68 Mustang with my Pioneer Super Tuner playing this as loud as it would go. Good times.
Well ladies what can I say being a floyd fan for over 45 years this was amazing well done
My favorite Floyd song!
We've forgotten how important the living rm is , we need to do more of what these girls are doing and enjoy playing and singing together ❤️. Good job ladies.
Got chills from how smooth your voices sound. Very soothing and refreshing
Как же хорошо, что находятся люди, способные просто спеть под гитарку эту поную безысходного трагизма песню о потерянной душе, которая уже не может отличить ад от рая... И только небо в мелодии. Хорошо, что это продолжают хотеть петь.
These are the moments that shine bright in my mind... 😀
You two young people have made n old Pink Floyd fan very happy tonight. Thank you. X
I keep coming back to this cover. So well done!!
Occasionally YT makes an excellent recommendation and this is one of those times. I've been a PF fan for over 40 years and your interpretation, because it's not simply a cover, is truly sublime. It gladness my heart that such talented people are still appreciating Floyd's genius.
Close friend passed away a few months ago. He loved PF. Especially this song. Was leafing the YT and found this. Ugly cried like a little kid. Beautiful rendition. Thank you ladies. He would have loved this version.
I love this cover SOOOO MUCH. Thank you.
That was outstanding. Thank you ladies.
Super Reina & Toni!
How can anyone not absolutely love these two young ladies? So damn good! Thank you!
Such awesome guitar playing and singing! This song by you too gets me emotionally. Thanks!
Goosebumps. You both are wonderful artists and creators.
I was 15 and I went to Italy with my family. There was an italian boy in the village who teached me this song. It was in 1976. He opened my mind to a wonderfull World. ( Hi Pietro!) Your cover is beautiful.
Wow, I've never seen the effect of voicing along with the guitar like Toni did at about 2:20. She really nailed it. As great as everything else was about this cover, that effect brought it to a new level!
david gilmour does that live
These two are fantastic
You ladies are so skilled. I've listening to your music for years. Thanks.
I saw the title and I was just like wow
Same here, amazing ladies!
I saw the title and was just wow, like.
I don’t know why this is hitting me so hard right now but you so so so nailed this song - thanks so much!!!
Its amazing to me because it's a really simple song but a true classic. I like her voice to it has a lot of character.
Just enjoy music and shine like a star
Same here. It is past midnight (after another day with talk of treason & insurrection) and at 63 it is a joy to hear you ladies play.
Cheers, from Toronto ♥
The musical talent of you two girls just blows my mind. Such a gift.....
An amazing acoustic version of this song! Way to go ladies! So talented!
Toni is simply adorable.

Shes also amazing. It's hard sometimes to just be in the back she has grace and style from a guitarist of to many years I respect the hell out of her talents
