If you have a low-resolution photo, you're limited with how much you can do with it due to the lack of quality. Luckily you can improve image resolution in Photoshop with a simple technique that only requires two different tools. In this Photoshop tutorial, you'll learn the step-by-step way to convert low resolution into high resolution and finally get a better quality photo from your pixelated images!
It's worth remembering that this technique will only smooth out the pixelation you see in low res photos. Although the end result is significantly improved, it doesn't compare to the same level of quality found in a truly clear high-res photo. This instead serves as a workaround for low-res images that you may want to share online, but have no intention for printing.

I've tried many different methods from different videos and yours is the first one I've been satisfied with. Thanks
I was too lazy to do this for my cut out object regarding my youtube thumbnails, but WOW what a HUGE difference I got with an object that i masked out of a screenshot.. its sharp and much better resolution now! Thanks man!
Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial! Can believe it only took a few steps to do this. Previously I would have gone down the rabbit hole with a bunch of layers, filters and coffee to make this happen. 😲
Thanks. I'm a middle-aged mom and a newbie in photoshop. This is by far the easiest tutorial that i can follow on. You earned a sub fr me 😊
Terrific tutorial, thank you so much. Your instruction and attention to detail are excellent. I really appreciate it !!!
Linear Light blend mode for the High Pass layer is nice as well. I tend to use that more than I use Overlay
I tried doing the High Pass to linear light blend and it was waaaay cleaner. Thanks so much!
totally agree on that.
Not all images you can use Linear Light, depending on image color, shadows, brightness blending mode is varied.
Tutorials like this are worth their weight in gold !...many thanks!

Brendan, thanks!!! I'm learning photoshop while making a book cover and your video was so easy to follow it improved my cover picture resolution to look ready for a 12 x 18 poster printing. I also learned from you next video how to resize the canvas, too before I saw this one for resolution. Thanks again x2!

Hi, Great Tutorial video, but towards the end: how did you bring the resample image example? If I don´t bring the original resample image - does it mean all the steps that I did in the tutorial didn´t work or? Thanks in advance. Regards, Lisa
Loved this thank you!!!
Hi Brendan! Just crossed over your channel, while trying to upscale a 'heavy crop' sports photo into a poster. Pilot loved it...know wants a A2 poster! I would love to meet his expectations. Just a bit divided between what to do first.
Start from the original cropped picture and work the enhance AI in PS or LR or use the method portray in this video? (Going to watch the linked one as well) Thanks ahead for any guidance! Cheers
Wow, have been looking for this.
exactly what i needed thank you!

Fantastic video! Thank you!
Thanks for the help, this is a great tutorial!
Your trainings are wonderful, nice one.
If your image is horizontal do you still want the height at 3000 or would you keep going until the width is 3000? TIA for the information.
Thank you! Very helpful
Thank you for this tutorial, man god bless you.
Outstanding mentor, as always! Though Photoshop is the best, I was too lazy to use it, so I went with something quicker & easier. When I am looking for a professional retouch, other image editing platforms can't compete. In my research, I found autoRetouch, and I found it to be so professional, simpler, and easier to use. Though I plan to apply your strategy to my tool.
For system/phone
Worked like a charm. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Really good video...and helped massively. One thing tho...when you asked for the Enhance Preserve Details, it sounded like you wanted it to be checked off!! Was only when you got to the next part that I realised it should be on. Apart from that, worked like a charm.
Love it, super instructive.
that was smooth! thank you.
Thank you. Gr8 and insightful video!
Thank you mate!This was usefull!
Wow! you're a genius, thank you for sharing. I was simply going to the Filter tab and pressing sharpen, but I'm guessing it was the incorrect way to sharpen
Thankk youu for sharing!
wow perfect! THANKS
Thank you!
great video!
very helpful! thx!
This was very helpful, and... I needed the help. :D
Your tutorials are so easy to follow. Do you have any on the ripped paper effect? Trying to make a horizontal design for a 20 oz tumbler. I’ve looked up at other tutorials but they talk and move so fast 😅
Funny you ask, that topics on my list of to-dos coming soon!
Awesome directions! Thank you. Question though, I changed an old 72 DPI photo to 300, how would I do step 2, layer part on an old B/W photo? The photo looks like it was taken around the mid 1800's or late.
Thanks . appreciate your work.
thank's a lot!
Thank you you saved my day !!
Wow... amazing and useful tutorial.
Now, how do I turn Photoshop menu colors to green like yours? I really liked it.
