Something satisfying about log splitting. I'd chainsaw up the downer tree and put the pieces on a trailer and haul it in on one day, Then the next I'd sit on a 5 gallon bucket and split wood from sun up to sun down suing a 22 ton motorized log splitter. I would make a mountain of firewood. Never figured out how many cords, but it was a lot. Didn't care one way or the other about the chainsawing part, but man I used to love splitting wood.

lawrence aderneck and hundreds if not thousands of dollars saved a year. It’s not backbreaking if you are smart about it. A tractor with a front end loader will save your back and don’t do large trees. Splitting is easy once you get good at it. It’s renewable and you will never fear running out of heat. Getting rid of dying and misshapen trees that are only good for firewood helps forests thrive.

Wood split into such small chunks causes a fire that burns too hot and needs constant tending because the sticks are consumed too fast. Before inventing a splitting machine, you need to actually burns wood for a few seasons to discover the ideal size of a stick. It varies, also, depending on the type of wood being used.

If I made one of those wood splitters, it would take 20-30 seconds to charge up (at random) and the fire off like a cannon (without warning) and send the split pieces of firewood toward a ramp with a steep curve in it so they'd go in every direction imaginable. My safety glasses would be made of ordinary glass, my gloves would be made of unfinished burlap, and my work clothes would all have fringes. There'd be free beer at every workstation, floors made out of marbles, bees nests under every tool bench, and the nearest bathroom would be two towns over. I'd have ringing phones and crying babies playing over the loudspeakers and wives who just want you to help a little around the house once in a while would have a seat behind every worker all day long.
And everyone would still show up to work because splitting wood is so satisfying.

Most of these clips are of soft uniform logs, and that's not the case in the real world when you have big knots and krucked logs of oak ,maple ,hickory and other hard wood that's used for firewood, ,soft wood may look good splitting but is not any good for heating a home

No top 10 extrem fast machines that plant and grow trees??
Ppl seem to oversee that some of those trees are 50-100 years old, yup so many years, thats how long it takes for big trees to grow.

And people like you are too blinded by your own ignorance that you don't want to read that there are far more trees today than there was 100 years ago. Most companies plant at least 2 trees for every one they cut down. RENEWABLE RESOURCE. Isn't that what you tree-hugging alarmists have been hollering for?

Such a shame to cut up those huge logs for firewood should have been made in to hardwood floors and furniture
