*Triangle flashbacks*
Lol
whatever happened to Melissa George anyway
NO NO NO NO NOOOOO!
That f movie
Triangle.. Triangle.. Triangle..
No one gonna talk about how one of the first people to write a Time Loop story is named Loop-Off?
I noticed that immediately.
Haven't watched the video yet but I remember watching and enjoying this movie quite a bit. If I recall, it features the line "Can't talk mom, the day's repeating"
I love it when Phelous explains the explanation of his explaining the explanation of his jokes.
I love when the comment sections explain the explanation of the explanation of the explanation of the jokes.
If Wabuu is a time traveling raccoon, He could time loop many times just to kill Wuschel over and over.
I'd pay to see that movie.
Let's contact Dingo Pictures!
For you.
Since Supergirl is in this film, perhaps she could have repeatedly flown around the earth to break the time loop just as her cousin Superman had done before, lol.
*Science:* "The atom bomb might set the atmosphere on fire. And the CERN accelerator might create a blackhole. And this device might create a time loop."
*Scientists:* "Meh."
I mean, both with CERN and the A Bomb it was only a few crackpots who thought they might end the world.
Well, two of those things turned out to wrong.
Well this is giving me flashbacks to your "Triangle" review.
Triangle, Triangle, Triangle, Triangle...
That song he sang was in my head right away.
Kurtwood Smith doesn't get enough play. He is such an amazing actor.
Never heard of this movie before, but this review was quite solid
Video went up 9 minutes ago, comment went up a month ago?

Thanks for this review.
"Groundhood day" is my favorite Bill Murray's movie. Investigating about that one I discovered the short story and the lawsuit. Really wanted to know about this TV movie too, and what better way to learn about something that "the Phelous way"
Wow, I actually remember watching this when it aired on TV as a kid. A fond memory along such great 90's made-for-TV movies like that one where Paul Reiser is being targeted by his office's security AI system. Or the one about killer bees that starts with a caption, "This WILL BE a true story."
I remember seeing it as a boy too, as well as the one with Paul Reiser, called "The Tower". Both came out in 1993 on Fox.
I remember seeing this, too, when I was a kid.
This was one of my brother's favourite movies as a child, so I used to watch it all the time. In hindsight, it's kind of an odd choice of a favourite movie for a little kid, but whatever.
3:06 he really should let out his inner Red Forman and just scream at the lady: *DUMBASS!*
XD
honestly being under quarantine felt like living under a time loop at times
Agreed😅
Covid was and is a SCAM FYI
The fact this movie came out not just the same year as Groundhog's Day but literally months apart tells you everything about why it's so poorly remembered. It's surprising how often that happens. It's really sad when both are good or even the one that's forgotten is better in this case though no huge loss.
I'm waiting for the Dingo version of 12:01PM. They already have their animation drawn in a time loop.
Wabuu is thrown through a loop
I wanna see old man in a time loop
I mean, this is not the first time Phelous has been stuck on a time loop. Remember Triangle? At least 12:01 is good.
There was Happy Death Day and it's sequel as well!
So 5 time loops!🤣
🎵 LET’S DO THE TIME LOOP AGAAAAAAAAAIN! 🎵
(Edit: The author of the story this was based on is literally named “Lupoff.” Wow.)
Out of the 2 versions, the short film with Kurtwood Smith looks more interesting to me, and I like that it ends on a darkly ambiguous note. Also, while it would be interesting, I feel like if someone made a 12:01 theatrical adaptation it'll will unfairly compared to Groundhog Day.
The Kurtwood Smith version is amazing and really pulls you in well.
Much like Picasso, Phelous appears to be going through a Blue Period.
I'm afraid this channel is the event of blueing itself.
Eh😎
6:34
I like how Phelan delivers the line to sound as if it were edited
This should've been used as the plot to Supergirl 2, but with her flying superfast around the Earth each time.
I enjoy learning about new movies from this channel.
I remember the Kurtwood Smith one. I was a youngster and that scarred me.
Having seen the anime adaptation of ‘The Girl Who Lept Through Time’, I wouldn’t classify that one as a ‘time loop’, since there’s some control over where and when they go. But I guess maybe the live action film is much different, they’re both based on the same book so I don’t even know if either are accurate adaptations at all.
The anime adaptation was actually a loose sequel to the original book that the film was based on as the main female protagonist of the anime film is supposed to be the niece of the main female protagonist of the original story.
What a fantastic review! "It's kind of silly," is one of those lines Phelous could say endlessly. It's sad, if I was in a time loop, I'd still be watching these videos, but it would only ever count as one view. That's very unfair to such a great content creator! Although, if a new video dropped, I could use it to convince someone I was in the loop. "Now Phelous is going to point out how this character is a jackass, here he makes light of how stupid this whole situation is, and this is where Wabuu makes an unexpected appearance to make fun of him for even watching the movie...."
Hey, Phelous, if you read this, I wanted to let you know that this is the guy who has compared you to an alchemist in the past, and I recently made and uploaded a horror film essay video. It's a start, more for fun than anything, so I'm not encouraging you to watch it. But I do feel like I should let you know that at the end I thank you along with a small handful of other creators for being inspirations. If you're mentioned somewhere, you deserve to know about it. What it took to make my even very rudimentary video shows how amazing your work really is and I doubt my production value will ever even remotely approach yours.
I remember my dad roasting this one
"Yaaayyy, I just saw a man blow up, but I still wanna make kissy face"
I love the cartoon reviews but always happy when Phelous does an old school review 🥳
with Phelan's videos always looking like it's taking place in Outworld, I expect at least 1 Mortal Kombat character to show up at pure random. XD
Happy that Phelan gives Kurtwood Smith his due. Most people know him as Red from "That '70s Show," real ones know him as Clarence Boddicker from "Robocop," but he's so goddamn good in everything he's in. Just one of those actors incapable of not giving 100%, even in crap.
And there's very little barb wire deathmatch action in this movie, considering it prominently features Moxley.
I know Kurtwood Smith as Clarence Boddicker from RoboCop Btw I already him as The Pentagon Chief in Under Seige with Steve Segal and Under Seige 2 Dark Territory
in my headcanon I like to think of Smith's character of Castleman being Fraiser Crane's maternal cousin.
The most impressive part is you pulling an early end credits joke at the end of the video. Nice touch.
Triangle triangle all over again...
Yep. whatever happened to Melissa George anyway
@@theitfactorjameswheezer2852 oh I get it. We’re ALL in a time loop!
I was wincing as the credits were going. I could almost feel the Triangle Triangle jingle coming up
I got caught stuck In a timeloop watching this video, then I learned the valuable lesson about switching off the loop video button off, truly a happy ending
If you want to go deeper into the rabbit hole. My mother would always say that Groundhog Day took the time loop idea from Mirror for a Hero (Зеркало для Героя) a Soviet 1987 movie based on a 1983 short story of the same name. The whole movie is on CZcams, so easily accessible. Not sure about subs for it tho.
I love Phelan deep dives into specific stuff like this
Glad to see you do a live action movie, again - it's been awhile. Don't get me wrong, I love your animation reviews, but I also love your live action movie reviews, and it's just been awhile, so it's refreshing.
His horror reviews are a Phelous
Man, I didn't think anyone else remembered this movie. I'm so glad to see you talk about this.
I watched the *Kurtwood Smith* movie back in _2011_ after watching _Groundhog Day._ It's great!
It's nice to see your review.
My only wish in life is to have the outro sung in the wabuu voice
This current outro is sooo stupid
Phelan! Your Not Dead!!!
I skipped over this video when it was uploaded four months ago. Watching it now in November, 2022, that joke about incompetent people in positions they're unqualified to be in has so much more bite to it.
ok, here's the strangest thing I have to share with everyone: right before Phelan uploaded this review of a time loop based movie, I was literally watching his 2 part The Time Machine (I Found At A Yard Sale) reviews. that is one hell of a coincidence. ^-^
Neato
wow
And I was just drinking a glass of orange juice.
What the..
@@Menjoood that's crazy
I was just thinking of maybe watching his review of Triangle... for the fifth time.
Wish I still had the Kurtwood Smith one it felt like a missing episode of the Twilight Zone one of the 20 VHS tapes of mine that got ate by my VCR
was just recently rewatching your older movie reviews and wishing you did them more frequently, and then you release a new one! awesome!
Woah!
This is an unique upload considerin' ya uploads this year!
I LIKE IT.
I instantly thought of that supernatural episode.... HEAT OF THE MOMENT
Triangle Triangle Triangle Triangle ♫-wait, that's a different movie
"IT HAPPENED AGAIN?!" - Jay Bauman
Awesome review dude! Awesome review dude! Awesome review dude! Oh shit I’m stuck in a time loop!
Phelan I'm so happy you aren't dead! Love this review, I've been into timeloops lately so the timing was perfect. Triangle, triangle etc.
There is a feature film called "A mirror for a hero" 1987( premiered 1988) that features both time traveling: the main hero goes 40 years in the past and time loop, due to the fact that he is reliving the same day over and over again. It's Russian and seems to be quite good , winning several prestigious nominees and prizes.
This could not have come at a better time thanks, Phelan. I now have a good reference to research when discussing time loop stories and what to look out for. I may have to watch this video again a few more times just to make sure I understand it better. Doesn't hurt to loop it at least twice.
What a great way to bring in the weekend - a new movie review from Phelous! I’d never heard of 12:01. How did this particular piece of the past come to your attention? I just love it when you review an obscure movie! I always learn so much more than just the basic rehashing of the plot most reviews give. This was especially fun! Got to love that early 90’s made-for-TV cheese, lol. Thank you for another awesome video, Phelous! And as Barry might say, I’m so glad you’re alive!!!🖤
I'd _heard_ of "12:01," but only in passing in the context of the abortive suit against _Groundhog Day._ And even then it was with respect to the short story, not the film.
And like that, the timestamp comment of the year is 12:01.
Great review 👍i LOVE time loop films !!!
I have had the flu for 2 days and been watching Phealous reviews horror movies, thank you for the company buddy 😊
Also red is stuck in a time loop cause Foreman messed with a time machine in the basement, Red is gonna put his foot up Foreman's ass when he gets home (if he isn't stuck before his hour is up)
my favorite time loop story is Flower Sun and Rain, really amazing
Oh man this is awesome, I miss these.
Aghahaha i caught this on tv years ago, had completely forgotten about it! now gonna have to go rewatch it, thanks :)
"A twist in the fabric of space where time becomes a loop where time becomes a loop where time becomes a loop where time becomes a loop where time becomes a loop where time becomes a loop where time becomes a loop where time becomes a loop where time becomes a loop"
I was going to watch something else when this poped up and switched over to this, just realized it was 12 (maybe 12:01?) when I started lol
Wow, that clock title effect was wild!
Great review. Love your humor! I had never heard of this movie. Some of my fave time-loop plots are "Cause and Effect" from Star Trek: The Next Generation and “Window of Opportunity” from Stargate SG-1.
Thanks! Yeah, I really enjoy both of those episodes as well!
@@phelous What about the Mystery Spot episode of Supernatural?
A movie review!!!! I miss these so much, THANK YOU!
Um are you one of those people who doesn’t believe animation counts as a movie or something?
If you were subscribed, you’d know he updates weekly
finally a sequel to Triangle!
I remember seeing this on tv when i was a kid
Jim Belushi's time loop film Retroactive was just bat shit insane.
I saw this briefly on a local station back in 01.
I remember this movie from a sci fi series Fox tv put on decades ago. Lifepod was another film in the series.
oh wow, made for tv films like this always make me feel like I just imagined it because no one else talked about it. Cool review.
I remember renting this movie at the local Blockbuster when it first came out. I enjoyed it enough for what it was.
Yes, I remember. I saw the movie on TV a long time ago (about 20 years ago). Is a really underrated/forgotten sci-fi movie. Like The Arrivial with Charlie Sheen, for example.
I really enjoy how the plot shows a lot of variation in what can happen even when you have the same situation play out repeatedly and know a lot ahead of time. Little decisions pile up to very different outcomes.
I often fantasize about going back in time to fix my mistakes or take advantage of new information, but then I think about stuff like this and I bet I'd just make a ton of new mistakes that would take a thousand playthroughs a to actually improve things.
It walked so ground hog day could run.
It was the heaaaaaaat of the moment
I’ve always liked time loop narratives. Edge of Tomorrow is a really fun action movie with that set up and I really like the anime ReZero that explores that idea (despite the show’s flaws).
Yeah but except he has to die and depending on the situation he stop in a different time once he kill that time
Does the disappearance of Haruhi count?
@@gracekim25 no I think you mean the endless 8 arc
@@desmondmalone438 yeah, it is a bit of a different take. He’s got “check points” 😂
My favorite game of 2021 is Deathloop. Love Colt and Juliana’s dynamic and exploring Black Reef.
I really like groundhog day. So I'll have to check this out.
Can't wait for new Resident Evil review! :D
Ah a good old time loop movie review. Very interesting that its a based on a sci fi story that predates groundhog day. Looking foward to seeing more fun sci fi movies & maybe some horror movies later in the year.
This is so grant and I love it
I consider Groundhog Day the holiday where I celebrate the release of the movie Groundhog Day, so clearly that means I now have to consider 12:01AM a celebration of the movie 12:01AM and must watch it every day at just after midnight. On second thought no I don't think I'm going to do that.
I remember renting that movie from the video store and liking it. Funny enough, I forgot about it until this review. xD
It's weird that the writer of the novel 'Replay' believes that he was plagiarized by the movie Groundhog Day, even though that movie has far more in common with the older 12:01 story (Lupoff should have probably sued), but later time loop movies would end up being much more similar to his novel, such as Edge of Tomorrow, and this adaptation of 12:01 for some reason.
Wait, I'm confused. Did Phelous ever explain why he didn't explain why he didn't explain the explanation of the explanation of the explanations??
Guess I'll just have to watch the review gain, after I watch it again . . . I don't want to finish.
Soon as ya mention Chuck, Silverman here does have a resemblance to Zachery Levi.
How about a timeloop movie where everyone is aware of the loop? Could be interesting
They should do a sequel where Jeremy Piven is perpetually banned from the SummerFest!
This works because the video can be replayed, looped if you will....
I don't think it is a time loop in the "conventional" sense, but arguably the myth of Prometheus could have inspired some time loop stories; while time itself isn't repeating, he is undergoing the same day over and over. Same with Sisyphus. Greek gods, and gods in general, are pretty twisted...
Anyway, excellent review as usual. I liked the bonus concise review of the Kurtwood Smith version at the start, too.
I was born at 12:01 AM. To think, if I had been born two minutes earlier. . .nothing of consequence would’ve happened.
My fav time loop story was a short segment in Buffy Season 6, when a customer comes into Giles' store asking for a mummy hand, and the nerds outside put her into a time loop. It's short, doesn't fill the whole episode, but it still cracks me up. 😂🤣
I like the hour loop concept. Is far worse trap than a day. Since only so much can do in an hour. Like travel & find stuff not seen yet.
Hey! It’s the kid from Girls Just Want To Have Fun!
Have you seen ‘Palm Springs’ or ‘Boss Level’? Both good time loop movies that I think provide an interesting twist on the concept.
*Triangle, Triangle, Triangle, Triangle, Triangle, Triangle*
