If you decide to weld instead of using those clamps, id suggest using vbands, black horse racing has the cheapest priced ones ive found. Unless jackspania donates some to the build

@@sinformantyeah most definitely. I was thinking just welding the one spot not the entire thing. Clamps up top and weld by the flange to cat back part but either way I think I have to get their shorty headers anyways. This header combo would be great for the 2000-2003 Chevy truck though and I wouldn’t mind having that one day
Motors looking good. Before u do too much with the heads check over them really well. Apparently the 5.3 heads are notorious for cracking. Iv been looking into doing the swap on my s10 as well. Oooo btw figured out my issue with the civic motor. Thanks for your help n thoughts on it.
You are correct on the 706 heads if they are the castline heads. You can tell if you pull the valve cover and see the little battery shaped logo
@@waynesworkshop7069 thanks. Wasn't sure which ones were the ones to look out for. All iv read so far was basically just watch the 5.3 heads. Pretty much figured I'd just go with older 350 with vortec heads and good carb setup once I get to that point on my build
