- Conversion to bullhorn from riser bars using regular breaks and a mountain bike 7 speed shifter. Bar wrapping with cabling under the tap. The bike is a fixie modified to have gears.
The new bars were ordered on Amazon, the cabling and tape is from Decathlon. - Sport
gears and brakes. nice to see someone adding them for a change.
agree
Had some idiot on a velodrome bike with no brakes kill a pedestrian a few years back here in the UK. The POS had previously boasted online that he liked the rush/danger from riding brakeless. I'm a cyclist myself who has been hit by drivers not paying attention and I've had numerous pedestrians step out in front of me, usually kids on their phones, and I don't even want to think about the consequences for not only me but the other person/people involved if I didn't have brakes. At best someone is getting hurt if not worse.
was he charged and convicted?
@@littlegoobie yeah I think he was found guilty of manslaughter and rightfully so. Could have easily been avoided had he not been an A hole with no brakes.
wow, what a clean finish damn that's a nice looking bike
Ok. I already ordered some new levers, but will try your method first! Sick bike btw.
Great job! looks really nice. I want to do this and convert my setup out of drop bars. I'd like to add in a set of bolt on tri bars too so I'd need to slide the shifter a bit out. looks really clean.
Very clean, nice going- way more hand position options!
oh man. i really love your bike. do you have any picture of your bike that i could look at to?
Looks clean
Nice look, will do the sale with my bike, what is the model of your speed shifter? Mine dont fit with my bullhorn bar
Hey, I love this setup! I read that you re-used the brakes. I assume the bar has to be 22.2 mm compatible at the ends?
Would you be able to provide the part name of your handlebar? Cheers.
Did you have any issues getting the shifter bracket round the bend of the bars? Or was it a clamp style bracket?
could u tell us what bike u are using in this video.
thanks
what's for to change shifters if the ones have the same system?
what kind of wheels are those? Looking to upgrade my bike
I also bought bullhorns 28mm, but my revo shifter (7 speed internal hub shimano) fits on 23mm bars...what shifter did you use?
microshift
Where do you buy that bar end brake lever?
amazing gonna do the same thanks
Did you just slide the shifter to the center of the bar? If yes, could it be possible to slide the brake levers as well? I have MTB and I am interested in bullhorn bar but with MTB position, i.e. shifter+brake levers near center of the bar.
oczywiście że możesz
What is that brake levers?
Hi just wondering where did your order the brake levers?
I put a twist shifter right beneath those break levers, I just twist my hand and never take my hand off the break while doing so.
Megadeth6633 do you have a video?
Thats smart. Kinda like Ultegra di2
What bullhorns and shifter did you order?
Sick change up! What brand are the bullhorns? Thinking of switching my straight bars

thanks bro
Ok
Always take regular breaks and stay hydrated 😉
What do you call these 'type' of brakes please? Nice job of the bar taping and nice bike!!
It's bar end brake lever i believe
Did you reuse your original brakes? If so how did you reverse the direction of the cables and get rid of the barrel adjusters?
Stan Lee, I unscrewed and removed the barrel adjusters and routed the cables in reverse. The cable jams in the lever so the break still works despite being backwards.
What brake levers do you have? I have a vintage road bike with straight handlebars but the brake levers are not meant to be used by the caliper brakes i have on the bike and they are kinda weak. Do those brake levers work good? I'm also thinking about switching to bullhorn handlebars in the future so I think these brake levers would be the best option for me if they work well. If you gave me some keywords for finding brake levers like this i would be grateful :)
what bicycle is that
Awesome & Thanks :)
What music?
did you remove the barrel adjuster on an inline brake lever or is it a barend brake lever specific for bullhorn handlebars?
Can i put on a shifters that is 3x10? Just like that?
Nice
Give me a brake
I need a break after watching this video about brakes.
what kind of tires do you use?
Good Good Good
Hello! Tell me the model of the brake levers?
I need to have a bell within reach of my thumb. Any ideas?
Sideways, on the "inside" of the handlebar.
A flick bell
Eu comprei uma speed não gosto do guidom oque devo fazer amigo
What's the name of the song?
What type of bike is that?
Hybrid
Can i know what is yr shifters?
Richi Zai sun race thumb shifters, probs 3 speed or 7 speed
Videazo papu
opening a package has never been romantic.
BaR enD shIFtErs!
Are you being sneaky? That brake lever is not meant for "regular" flat handle bars. The pull is reversed. You have the barrel adjuster on the wrong side at the beginning of the video. Regular brake levers cannot be reversed like that. Also, your rear brake and shifter are one piece in the original set up. Maybe I am wrong but that's how I see it. I'll check out your other videos.

He's not going to know what the hell you're talking about. Edit your comment and misspell "brake" as "break" so he understands.
That's what i thought exactly.
Your old brakes would've worked on the bullhorns
*BRAKES*
Yo hice lo mismo con mi bicicleta
those are not standard brake levers.
Those aren't, indeed.
Why is your bike broken? Break means that something has been damaged or no longer works... Brake means to slow down.
Brakes not breaks. Schooling?
weird song choice
normal song choices FTW

My immediate thoughts are: has any thought been given to the relationship from the old bars be it whether they were drop bars or straight bars and the reach to the new bars? Also a very big peeve, if the person who posted this cannot even spell as in “breaks” (as in when something is broken) to “brakes” (a device that is used to slow or stop something), then what do they know about anything else including bicycles? No dialog or explanation. PPP! (Pretty piss poor! In my opinion!
Really, really annoying music. Sorry
You need to learn how to spell. It’s brakes not breaks
