Enjoyed your video! i'm in nothern michigan with ten wooded acres. I have a 2016 1025R with close to 500 hours on it, mostly front end loader and backhoe hours. The backhoe has been such a blessing to have in my situation. It is small and limited in various ways compared to "real" backhoes but will certainly amaze you with what it can do. Countless stumps and trenches in tight wooded areas where I don't want to cut my beautiful trees down. Small pond. Loosening severly rocky clay soil before using my front end loader to relocate the dirt to low damp areas around my house and sand too. I just wanted to let those out there that might have a need for a backhoe to hear some testimony about how good it works.

Thank You. With over 500 hours have you had any problems with the tractor, loader, or backhoe?

    • @vinsonhelton7141
      @vinsonhelton7141 Před 4 lety

The only problem I've had is the rubber strap that holds the air cleaner canister to the aluminum bracket attached to the engine broke. I have been running it for quite some time without any strap. The air hoses have been more than sufficient to hold the light air cleaner canister. No other problems with tractor, backhoe or loader.

Master of Everything, I am going to be the owner of a new 2019 1025R from R&S this week. I went with the bucket, mauser cab, ballast box, 60D mowing deck with mulch kit because of your video and thoughts plus I did the 54 inch snow blower. Since no side walks and just long drive way. I like your comparing it to the swiss army knife.
I hope for many years of performance and durability.

I also have a 1025R with a Mauser cab. Love the cab. Very well made and the heater is great when removing snow. However, you will find the hydraulic couplers to the loader are next to impossible to get to as they are virtually buried under the cab floor. Unless you have very strong and nimble fingers you cannot get enough leverage to connect and disconnect the hoses, especially the black one. I have resorted to just leaving the loader frame on the tractor and taking the bucket off when not needed. Also, the Mauser cab has a fuel filler that is recessed too far and makes it difficult to completely empty a five gallon can of diesel. My comment on the mulching kit for the mid mount mower: it is worth every expensive penny !! You can trim on either side of the mower and no more grass clippings and dirt flying into the flower beds or on the sidewalk. And NO MORE RAKING !! WOOHOO !! And your yard looks great. Love this little green beast.

This year I bought a 2016 John Deere 1025R with only 150 hours on it. It works very well and is easy to handle. I blew snow with it and found the heated Tektite cab to be extremely well built and comfortable. Within 2 minutes I have heat no matter the temperature. It also came with a mower and front loader/bucket. I may get it a backhoe for the spring. We'll see.

5th year for mine and still going strong 👍🏼. I also have a x720 so the 1025 don’t get many hours for mowing. I’m only at 113 hours. I still prefer to mow with the X7 it’s a lot smoother ride. It’s less of a handful too in tight areas. I probably shouldn’t even bought the mower deck for my 1025 lol. Works well with my JD 413 Bush hog though 👍🏼

Started out as a side job but starting 1-1-2023 will be a full LLC. Personally I would go with a 1025R over a X700 any day of the week. The 1025R is build heavier, has more attachments, is more versatile, and more cost effective. Take for example a X750 a mid range X700 cost 13k bone stock and it can only really do two jobs (snowblow and cut grass) A 1025R may cost more but you can do so much more with it. (Loader work, Mow, Snowblow, Backhoe, run 3-point and pto powered attachments) Not to mention the 1025R is diesel which will outlast the gas motor on the X700.

The 2018 models don't have the dual wire set up on the ROPS. Single +/_ on the left side only. JD now has a skid steer quick attach and so do others that fits on to their quick attach but you are adding a lot of weight so it reduces the lifting capability. I do like the lights and have the LEDs but plan to put added LED work lights front and rear. I also saw garage guru who added strobes inside his orange warning lights. I think that is a good idea. I run dual R4's on my JD because of steep slopes in my pasture. Thanks for the update.

Good to know about the wire mine is a 2017. And with the skid steer QA in someone is worried about losing 100lb of lifting capability you already bought too small of a tractor. Next spring I plan on updating my lighting setup.

Very good review. The weight and balance issues you have described are my greatest concern. Having to spend more money to correct them leads me to purchase a 2 series instead. Afterall, many of the initial trade-ins lean to ultimately need "more tractor" than what the 1025 can provide naked.

Why are you so down on JDQA? The extra weight of the SSQA robs that little tractor of much needed lift capacity. And every attachment is available in both JDQA and SSQA at identical prices. The only reason I could see is if you share attachments across brands, but usually the other equipment would be different sized and require it’s own attachments anyway.

After watching this, definitely pushing me to a Kioti or Mahindra. Know people with both and operated both a lot, and they seem set up a lot better. The Mahindra branded Bercomac blower on her MAX 26 XLT makes that blower look like a toy. It'll pick the front end up right off the ground for scraping ice and has a very nice replaceable carbide cutting edge. No plastic in any of it.

Snow removal, maintaining my woods, moving around dirt and mulch for yard work, moving project vehicles/engines/parts around, I'm thinking a CK2610 or 1626 are more the size I want to go for, and they can be had at a better price point. I don't want/need a belly mower on it, I have a Simplicity with a 60 inch deck that's already hard to get into certain parts of my my yard around my house and shop. Going to go the route my mother's gone and upgrade to a zero turn when this mower has reached the end of its service life. I'd prefer the higher capacity loader and larger frame with more stability and ground clearance. I just don't think this is the right setup for what I'm looking to do.

The MAX 26 XLT my mom has is actually built by Mitsubishi, which many of their mid range tractors are, their small E MAX series are built by TYM, and they build the larger ones themselves. Depends which you buy for the quality level. I'm heavily leaning towards the Kioti, from Swiderski, they have a lot of stock on hand and great prices. Need to get out and actually drive the exact models I'm interested in though. Also open to an L2601 Kubota. I don't think I could go wrong with any of them around here with how many dealers there are for all 4 brands and I don't think any of them make a "bad" tractor, just gotta see whose got the best pricing and which I feel most comfortable operating I guess.

Loved the review MOE. Really thinking about getting one of these with a mower deck and loader. I have a few questions... Have you had any issues with reliability on your tractor or mower deck? I have read mixed reviews on the mower deck not mowing as good as a typical riding mower, however, based on your videos it seems to mow your lawn very clean. I live in a rural area so the mow quality doesn’t have to be perfect but I am hoping for a mow as clean as my current Cub Cadet 3225 with a 54” deck. When lowering your mower deck for use, is there a gauge or something so you can see the mow height? Are there any recommendations you have for must have accessories for someone buying a new one...Quick attach hitch, rear weights, etc.? You commented on the wheel weights vs fluid and you preferred weights. My experience has been great with fluid. Original tires with fluid for 23 seasons. It dramatically improved ride quality and traction over the years. Does your ride better with the wheel weights or without? Any info you can provide would be appreciated.

Sorry for the delay I have been busy... No Problems with either. If you mow at 2.5in or higher the cut is as good at my commercial mower a John Deere 648R. If you plan at only mowing at 1in you will scalp the lawn. The mower height is set by a knob by your left foot. if you get a loader get a heavy hitch for rear weight.

I think R&S is probably one of the nicest and most professional dealers I have worked with any problems I have had are all ways resolved quickly. Anytime I go into my R&S everyone knows my name from the salesman to the parts manager so either I'm in there too much or they care about there customers enough to remember there first and last name. Both salesman I have dealt with have been knowledgeable about what there selling even when I ask a hard question I think should stump them. When I bought my new 648R a few weeks back I actually had one of the Riesterer kids as a salesman. If you don't mind me asking which R&S are you looking at buying from?

@@patrickp4827 No, There is nothing for the front. You can do it with the 3-point hitch. I back a camper in to a seasonal camp site with mine. There tractor is so small the only problem is you cant see past the camper so you need help to guide you. Also you will need a loader too for weight in the front or all you will do is a wheelie.

1000 Curtis soft cab well worth the money with glass windshield and wiper put a golf cart heater in it you will stay warm and the windshield will stay clear. Transferred the blower from my 425, never had a problem with the quick hitch. The one on the 1025 does have that extra part to deal with.I like that you can put down pressure on the blower to scrape ice. My 425 AWS was great for mowing with the power flow bagger. I just got rid of it and picked up a ferris is2100z efi 60 inch with oil guard and the premium suspension seat. My back needed a break. I agree the 1025 should have come with one. I have the 60 inch auto connect deck and wasn't thrilled with the cut.I took it off and keep it up for a backup. I ended up reinforcing the bucket,it was a little flimsy. I wish it was a little heavier tractor like my old yanmar 226D.I had a 3 point backhoe for it and the flow was good you could actually get some digging done with it.Other thing I miss is no split brakes, and power beyond. And with the emissions on it it drinks fuel compared to the old yanmar which was the same displacement and horsepower. But still a great tractor
