Microsoft cannot protect your data While Microsoft offers protection against infrastructure threats like hardware and software failure, power outages and natural disasters, it does not protect data at your end from human error, illegitimate deletion, program/sync errors, malicious insiders, malware and ransomware.
Amazing. I didn't know any if this and I have the subscription account. I didn't even know that I had 6 TBs of space in my One drive. You're amazing. This content is fantastic. Thank you so much.
Your youtube videos are incredibly informative, entertaining and Needed by so many of us out here trying to use the basics of Microsoft 365. If possible, can you do a video explaining how an SMB owner like me can have a OneDrive for our business files and separate OneDrive for our personal files. Will be transitioning to OneDrive, but currently storing business files on physical server and personal files on each person's "C" drive . . not good. Lol Thank you Kevin, you're the best!
OneDrive is fantastic! Couldn't live without it and it's well worth paying for the Microsoft 365 subscription because of all the other benefits it brings. Great overview, thanks! 😊
Kevin. thank yo so much for these tutorials. You have no idea how it is helping me. At least you talk to me rather than some young person talking at me and I have no idea what they are saying. Thank you
One of the better videos out here. You are a sincerely good explainer. There is one thing that I would like to ask: Is there a way to completely backup and sync an entire drive (let's say the D: or E: drive) to OneDrive?
Love your channel. I just purchased a Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and I replaced my laptop with it. I love the Surface Pro and it was a great decision to replace my larger laptop. I travel to Europe and it’s easier to carry and can do everything I need it to do. I am exploring One Drive as well but having problems really understanding it. The navigation pane is confusing. Also I noticed I have multiple files in one drive but scared to delete them because I don’t want to loose them. I know they can be recovered in the recycle bin but they are important. I keep watching you videos and hope they will help. Thanks Kevin.
Hey Kevin, thank you for the always very informative videos about MS tools, I'm always learning something new with you. I have a challenge with MS for businesses, they have the photo options very different from the unpaid version and actually no focus at all on a tool to organize and review them. Any suggestions there? Thank you!
Explained very clearly Kevin, Thank you very much. I always refer to your videos whenever I need to understand any of the MS office products. I had a question, can we collaborate together on a pdf that's stored on OneDrive ?
Excellent, as usual, Kevin. A Sharepoint tips and tricks will be appreciated too, as some functionalities are similar to Onedrive but not quite the same. Thanks!
He's already created a recent SharePoint tips n tricks video (czcams.com/video/5nrxp7lc0so/video.html) also, for info, OneDrive *is* SharePoint, or rather the technology unpinning OneDrive is SharePoint.
This is a Creative criticism: Most people doing tutorials end up advertising how wonderful the program is or the item is. I am just looking for someone to show me how to use the program. Such as, opening the Program; in this case is: “One Drive”. Then, manipulating the device such as the phone or the tablet, to pick a photo or a file and upload it to “One Drive”, how to save it in a folder, and how to down load it to your device, and how to save it in either the Main Storage or the SD Card. That is all folks. That is what I am looking for someone to show me how to do it.
This was great!!! Kevin, are you aware you speak in a musical key? It'll take a better musician than me to explain fully, but it's a major key with all your "paragraphs" end on the root, and your "asides" modulate briefly into a different key like jazz solos do. This is genius! Anybody with perfect pitch able to ID the key?
hey Kevin, your presentations are always the BEST, would you consider how to use these same tools from Microsoft on a Apple PC, I am really thinking of trying something new, from Windows PC (all my life) to MacBook Pro.....just would like to see how Microsoft apps work, especially onedrive on Apple
do you have a video on what the difference is between one drive and Microsoft photos? because i have both and not understanding why they have 2 things for photos. love all your videos
Great tips. I don't have the camera icon in OneDrive on my Android like you have in the screenshot above. I have to press the + icon, for adding content, to get the Scan menu item
Thanks Kevin. Very helpful. One question. Is it possible to embed a folder into a Sharepoint site? Or is it only possible to embed a file? Or only on to a web site? Cheers and keep up the great Channel! Julie-Ann
Great tips thanks even though I have 1 drive for years never really thought much about it but I really like the idea for pictures & video however I not to sure I like to backup my banking files to it on the hand my banks are do it with their servers and cloud accounts So my concerns might be over blown
I only use the 5GB free version so I need to now how I can have some of my bigger folders only on my computer and not on OneDrive. I have an external drive for those folders instead. Thank you for posting!
Hello Kevin, Very useful tips, thank you very much. I have the Microsoft 365 Family subscription also, and I already use a part of the tips that you presented. In addition to this tips, I think it would be interesting to make a video about how to add shared folders or files (shared by you or with you) in windows explorer (in some cases is much easier to work in this mode), and regarding to this I have also a question: Can you add a folder shared from a business account to a private account to windows explorer?
Please!!! I need a logical flowchart presentation of the relationships and connections in explorer between 'This PC', Users, Administrators, OneDrive, File History, etc. Kevin, you do a great job of concise, complete presentations. I wish that file explorer and related parts of Windows worked as explained... i.e. When and how does 'This PC' match a user's folders and files? Which set is backed up in File History? Which are uploaded to OneDrive? When I tried to make myself an administrator to do some functions, why did all my folders disappear in both 'This PC' and as a user, then reappear, but just in 'This PC' and not the user?, etc. You can tell I was trying to get a new PC going and have had huge unresolved problems. Very frustrating.
Hi Kevin. Thanks for all the great videos. I just got the Samsung S23 Ultra and can't find the place to organize the photos by month. Can you help please?
Great video, and I agree with other commenters ... you are far better than the entire MS documentation-"team". However, I'm not a fan of the security provided by "anyone with the link can edit" ... this is not really security ... anyone with the link ... this must be a joke. Any mail server admin in between can pick up the link ... Please add a guide on how to share to specific people.
Hey Kevin, excellent as always. I watched your one drive video months ago and it inspired me to download the app and begin using onedrive. Problem is I live where internet service is sketchy at best. It took me over three weeks 24 hours a day to upload all the files on my computer to my one drive family account. My computer is now way too slow. Is there a way to instruct onedrive to only upload/download files once a week instead of everytime you make a change. My internet is way too slow for that and I am constantly sitting waiting on something to open, download or whatever. Thanks Paul
Kevin- love to see a video on how one untangles a mess of OneDrive, Desktop and Laptop files that have a double-secret schema of their own about staying synced/not. It's a hot mess and need to clean it all up. Ideas? Thanks!
Kevin I have a question: I tried to use OneDrive last month and I could not understand WHY all my "Documents" folder (C:\Users\admin\Documents) was copied into C:\Users\admin\OneDrive\Documents ? Is the process DUPLICATING all my folders and files? From now on I shoud be saving my documents in C:\Users\admin\OneDrive\Documents insted of saving them in C:\Users\admin\Documents? What do I have to do?
I really find your videos useful Kevin, thank you. I have MS Office installed on my laptop - when I try to open a document on OneDrive I can't see all the files, so I have to access the document by opening OneDrive then click on it - that way it opens. Am I doing something wrong?
Hey Kevin thanks for your tutorials but It would be very useful to me if you will explain business products also. You are the best I have ever seen who is explaining O365 products in detail. Waiting for your response
Hi Always nie videos...But I need your help . I started using One drive after watching your videos...but when I modify a doc I see something like a paragrah sign that has my initial( ad is not comments made) just changes to the doc. Traching is Off ...What to do ?...) Thank you Alberto
Can you create tutorial for Microsoft OneDrive tips and tricks for Apple Mac Book Air M1? OneDrive saves file in two places. Deleting one deletes the other one too😊😊😊
Office 365 has been rebranded as Microsoft 365. Microsoft 365 includes the typical Office apps as well as other services like family and safety, OneDrive, etc.
Great video.. Need to ask one thing that can one user (owner) of OneDrive Family plan use all the available 6TB if he wants or it will remain reserved for even if no family account added?
Can the multiple user edit while using the desktop app at the same time?? When the other user is editing in desktop app, let’s say excel, I am in read-only mode and the warning caption is shown like this …‘ This workbook is locked for editing by another user’. my edit stuff are not valid while I am using with deskto app at the same time. But it works with Desktop vs Browser, Browser vs Browser. Not Desktop vs Desktop! Hope you could have any good solution on this.Thanks.
Kevin - I'm having a terrible time with One Drive. Maybe it's me....all i want to do is work locally on my laptop and have one drive sync my folders and files. First I don't see how to choose any folders other than DOCS, PICS and DESKTOP. Secondly, if I try to drag a folder from file explorer to the one drive folder its says "move...". I don't want to move it, i just want one drive to back it up and sync it. I'm going about this wrong?? thanks...
I’m new to OneDrive and I’m looking to upload all my photos from iCloud to OneDrive but after following all the steps I noticed it didn’t upload all my photos. I have over 17k photos but it barely uploaded them. I have 1T storage so it isn’t a storage problem. It says “updated” so I’m not sure why I don’t see them all. Any help would be great!
Hi so it says my data will freeze after juny but i dont have money to buy more space but i have question if i delete something and after it will not say it will froze but if i install again will it refresh the freeze date or it will be the same date. Sorry for quite hard question beacause have no money and really hard moments in my life now.
I hate OneDrive so much. I keeps trying to sync everything, and I can't stop it. It doesn't give me an option to select what I prefer to sync. Then it fills up and tries to advertise to me to pay them for syncing more. Then I can't use the online Excel because the One Drive is full... so annoying.

I love how he's able to cram so much substance into such short videos.
Kevin does a better job selling the benefits of MS products than the entire MS marketing team.
Agreed!
Yes.. I like his style
Sure!!!! He made me buy a Microsoft 365 Family plan.
Microsoft advertise Bing more than Office
No matter how familiar I am with a MS product, I always learn something on this channel. Thanks Kevin!
Kevin, I appreciate your presentations. They are so incredibly helpful. Thank you. I share them with my students and colleagues.
Amazing. I didn't know any if this and I have the subscription account. I didn't even know that I had 6 TBs of space in my One drive. You're amazing. This content is fantastic. Thank you so much.
Thank You so much, Kevin! I was gonna search for this video today. Good to learn it from you!

Thanks for sharing! I did not know about the 'Restore' option; but, knew about the versioning option...

Thank you very much. You explain everything about your one drive to us.
Would you please explain us about 365 total 1tb per person for use to 6 people?
Would love to see a video on shared libraries and what happens when the owner of the doc leaves Kevin's Cookie Company
I love being able to back up my photos in Onedrive! So convenient!
Am liking this guy Kevin and am learning a lot. When I grow up in technology, I would love to be like Kevin
Hi Kevin, you are a excellent teacher! Thanks.
Excellent tutorial, as always.
Nice job, Kevin!
