Green Goblin has often been depicted as Marvel’s Joker. But this particular version of his character is probably the closest I’ve seen at resembling Joker’s personality. He’s dangerous and extremely smart, but also has a constant sense of humor, combined with his witty personality and sheer insanity really makes him feel like Mark Hamill’s Joker. It’s a shame we only got 1 Season of this Green Goblin and of this show as a whole.
“We all wear masks, Spider-Man. But which one is real? The one that hides your face or the one that is your face?” Oh crap, Green Goblin is a first year psych major
The fact that the stern Norman Osborn is the one behind the mask, doing this voice, making the facial expression, belting out these lines and laughter still blows my mind. The duality of his two “masks” just makes me love this character and makes him so easy to connect to. I think he was right in saying “we all wear masks”, and seeing Norman let out his inner self in the form of Green Goblin is just so fun
I honestly thought he was voiced by Mark Hamil at first. I then saw the credits and he’s voiced by one of the biggest actors in the industry. Credits to Steve Blum for giving us an amazing Goblin!
Agreed, most everything about this series was just pure gold. Tombstone was so well written that you'd never expect he wasn't their first choice for the villain.
The one thing I have an issue is when Norman is discovered as the goblin he just goes back to his normal voice the moment his mask is off and never uses his goblin voice. Always through me off
The mask most likely has a voice changer in it, which I hate. He has 2 VAs because its easier to hide his identity that way to audiences. Steve Blum's voice is also way too recognizable no matter how much he pitches it, so him voicing Norman as well would have been a dead giveaway.
You’ll also notice how his personality changes from Goblin to Norman and that’s not like dual personalities or whatever. Norman was just pretending, acting like a loon. Cuz Norman stated that how he got the green made it so he didn’t loose control

You really get the sense that Spiderman wasn't his *main* concern snd that he had bigger plans and he probably *could* have legitimately *won* if he wasn't so ridicilously arrogant.
