CAL vs Stanford. When CAL scored on a kickoff while Stanfords band began to celebrate as they thought there was no chance. Look it up its really awesome!
As someone who played for Plano East in recent years I can tell you I'm conflicted about whether to be humiliated or honored by my school's appearance on this show.
Ruining a great sport? What are you talking about? Our version of football came first. The CFL has a much more entertaining brand. It also requires more strategy on the parts of coaches due to all of the great and crazy rules. Oh, by the way, we know what a catch is!
EXPLANATION OF #3: In the CFL, teams are awarded (1) point for a missed field goal if a) the kicked ball travels through and out of the endzone (sides OR back) or b) the person receiving the kicked ball is tackled inside the endzone (or if said player gives up and takes a knee). The same rules and outcomes apply for punting. So, the game was tied and even though the kicking team missed the field goal, they still would have been awarded the (1) point if the guy receiving the kick was tackled in the endzone. So the receiver, instead, punts the ball back out of the endzone to prevent giving up that (1) point and, thus, sending the game into OT. However, the kicking team then kicks the ball BACK INTO the endzone (forcing the same situation to happen again) and because the receiver couldn't kick the ball back out (or prevent himself from getting tackled) and it was subsequently recovered by the kicking team, a touchdown was scored. All of this made possible because there is also no "fair catch" rule in the CFL. ALL kicks must be fielded and returned (or have the player concede by taking a knee). Did that explain it well enough for you guys???
Canadian football a touchback (other than one caused by a turnover, I think) is a 1-point play. What they failed to mention in this clip is that it was a tie game, so even a 1-point play would have won it for Montreal.
+Dustin Zachary The game was tied 30-30 and so if the field goal returner is tackled in their end zone with the ball, it is a safety so unless he can run it out of the endzone and take a knee, he has to kick it out of the end zone and hope it stays out.
+Dustin Zachary In the Canadian Football League, you get a point if you punt the ball through the opposing team's end zone, or if the other team kneels (or is tackled) in their own end zone. Since it was a tie game, all the receiving team needed to do was keep the ball out of their own end zone, so they attempted to kick it out.
Although this was pretty crazy, with it being TSN the home of the CFL, I'm surprised that they didn't show the grey cup game where the Roughriders lost because they had one extra player trying to get off the field before the ball was snapped.
It doesn't matter where each person is, all that matters is the ball. Don't be an idiot. Look it up on a video where it shows every perspective and it's obvious that it's a legal play.
That Plano East-John Tyler game was crazy. Plano East was down 41-17 with under 5 minutes left. Took the lead then lost on the kickoff return. Sick game!!
You are a moron. Jay Onrait and Dan O' Toole are some of the funnest anchors out there! It'll a lot better than the shit im forced to watch on ESPN. With the exception of John Buccigross and a couple others they all have as much personality as a lamp at a Kentucky yard sale. Im so happy a sports station in America picked them up because as a fellow America sports lover they brighten my day up during their hilarious highlights. You much be a sadist or something to not find them fun and entertaining. Reevaluate yourself mate.
Apart from the beginning where they mock the foreign guy's accent and the fact there are no clocks or scores on many of the videos so we can't see the context of the game, that was a good video.
Oj Simpson It's safe to assume that. In fact it's an intrinsic element of the video. But how about context so we can see who is playing, how little time was left and what the score was? It's not a controversial point I'm making. I enjoyed the video.
Immaculate Reception was better than the Music City Miracle, there's been a couple plays similar to the MCM, but there's only been one Immaculate Reception.
That gigantic bar they have at the bottom of the screen ruined some of these - especially "The Immaculate Reception." You couldn't even see the ball in Franco Harris's hands.
NFL Films analyzed this play pretty extensively. They concluded that the ball did go backwards, by about six inches from where it was released to where it was caught. So the play is legit.
I wouldn't say CLEARLY... BUT I do agree it was forward... The pass was made on the 25 yard line (the planted foot on the pass release was on the 25... The ball was caught on the 25 and 2 inch line... In the day of reviewed plays and challenges, this most certainly would have been over-turned, BUT alas it was dependant on only the line-judge and he was probably doing his nail or something not expecting the pass back so it went un-noticed by the official on field. What surprises me is the announcers made no mention of it either.
LOL. It isn't much different from the NFL, except some minor differences. But, I have no freakin' clue what the hell was going on there with the kicking back and forth. It made it seem like rugby.
It's weird because it developed separately than American football from the same root (rugby) despite that they are similar mostly. Big differences are forward motion before snap is allowed and what you saw there where you can clear it from the end zone and you get a point for that. There is also 1 less down. I'm american and so I don't know it all but I did a paper on the differences for a college class lol so i at least looked it up What's weird is the forward pass became legal LONG after it was in the US yet they pass the ball far more now you would of never of guessed that. Mostly because you need more yards per play due to less downs.
assmane999 The reason they were kicking it back and forth is because in the CFL if a team gets a touch back the other team is awarded a point not just lets go up to the 20 yard line.
+jo Smith the ball did not trackel backward it traveled a yard forward . The dude throw the ball from his 24 yard line and his dude catches it on his own 26 yard line that's called forward just simply watch were he throws and catches it from
I like that answer, but why even put effort to comment then? curiosity, to be proved right, a boost to the ego, just killing time? Ah good be anything, still suprised they left out standford vs cal, cal winning kickoff return with stanford band on the field. Good talking to you
+FDzerzhinsky It was the last few seconds of the game, he was trying to run out the clock so they couldn't attempt to do what he just did, score off a kick off return for the win.
The reason you don't "understand" the game is it takes a thought process... It's not really your fault though... sine you have no real sports on that side of the pond. Try reading a rule book on the game or something... Then perhaps, if you can hold attention long enough, you MIGHT learn something.
Try this for three, 1) If you kick the ball out of the back of the end zone, you receive one point. It's called a single, or rouge. 2) You are allowed to advance the ball by drop-kicking it. When Montreal lines up for what looks to be a field goal with time running out in a tie game, they're not even necessarily trying to split the uprights. If they can get it out of the end zone (rule 1), they get a point and win the game. That's why Toronto sends a couple of defenders back. I found this at Deadspin, by searching for the strangest ending to a game, you will see the "#3" video :)
Where I am "Americans" typically refers to people from the United States. Not sure if the original poster meant people from the United States or from the Americas. Personally, I've never really understood using "Americans" as a catchall. It just seems odd to me that one could use that term and mean Canadians or Venezuelans or both. The two are so geographically and culturally different.
***** Your pathetic, weak, punk ass wouldn't last five minutes playing in any NFL game. Hell, you wouldn't last five minutes playing in any college football game.
***** you have your opinion, like everyone else. I'm a passionate nfl fan (as seen in my pic) so I have a different opinion. But I do appreciate you sharing your and hope you continue to do so. Have a nice day :-)
Not a forward pass. It's not where the feet are, it's how the ball travels. There have been scientific studies on that play, and it was a true lateral pass- ball was thrown with his arm just beyond the 25 and was caught just beyond the 25.
CAL vs Stanford. When CAL scored on a kickoff while Stanfords band began to celebrate as they thought there was no chance. Look it up its really awesome!
Its called "CAL vs Stanford (The play)"
I was about to mention that, my dad was a Cal student at the game and he said it was just amazing.
Luke Connolly The knee was so blatantly down.
Statalyzer
No, the knee was very clearly NOT down.
blackeyeddog How long have your optic nerves been deteriorating?
That nascar finish watching it live was amazing!!
Haha 'this is the greatest comeback of all TIIIIIEH!!!'. Texas you crack me up.
gotta add that auburn bama game now on this list
agreed and the bcs championship
yeah and the superbowl....wait....
mike p lol so wrong
the "fail mary" should be on the list when it gets updated.
I agree they should add auburn alabama
the best one was the nascar guy finishing the race on his roof.
ungratefulmetalpansy I think when you're on your roof it means that you didn't steer right
Itchy Dupa Haha that was still one of the best finishes I have ever seen.
ungratefulmetalpansy Check out Watkins Glen, Sonoma Raceway, Road America, and Mid-Ohio.
Smartass.
David Daniel Its a joke.
Dumbass
As someone who played for Plano East in recent years I can tell you I'm conflicted about whether to be humiliated or honored by my school's appearance on this show.
lol
I want to to give a big hug to anyone from that school. That game was the most heartbreaking thing I've ever seen.
2011 Indy 500. Wildest finish to anything ever.
This list is invalid without Cal/Stanford.
"WHERE AM I?!"
"whats goin on?!"
Canadian football is CONFUSING!!!!!!
thanks canadians, for ruining such a great sport :)
you sir need a lesson of history Lmao The cfl are the old school rules Now get outta here
Ruining a great sport? What are you talking about? Our version of football came first. The CFL has a much more entertaining brand. It also requires more strategy on the parts of coaches due to all of the great and crazy rules. Oh, by the way, we know what a catch is!
OK, I admit, you definitely have us on that last point. I'm STILL trying to figure out what an NFL catch is.
I'm Canadian and I have no idea what the heck happened in that CFL game either.
#1 should be 5 or higher
Only missing the Benny Hill theme. CFL is retarded.
What the heck was happening on number 3? Crazy Canadians.

The only time the Titans have won something.
Who are the Titans?
+Murd3rBrigade tenesee titans
+Sweg Moose I know I was making a joke as to make fun because he said they never won anything so not a lot of people would know about them
+Murd3rBrigade I just realized! agh! stupid brain!
+Sweg Moose lol it's ok
The Play? Cal v Stanford
His knee was down. And I have no dog in that fight.
@@Statalyzer and there were a few forward passes
"The band is on the field, the band is on the field..."
What kind of football are they playing in Canada? Kicking the ball in and out of the endzone?
+Dustin Zachary The kind of football where more than one player gets to use his feet.
+Nicholas Hartle hahahahahahahaha
+Dustin Zachary The game was tied 30-30 and so if the field goal returner is tackled in their end zone with the ball, it is a safety so unless he can run it out of the endzone and take a knee, he has to kick it out of the end zone and hope it stays out.

As a Finn the beginning of the video warmed my heart x) Olli is so nice guy. And I'm so addicted to these TSN Top 10's
Big Mac meal
what about Stanford the band is on the field
Auburn VS Alabama?.....
That finish? A 109 Yard returned Field Goal?
this was before that
Michael Cosentino
(I know im just saying its friggin amazing.)
insane luck
This was made before that
SECfootball7
(I know im just saying its friggin amazing.)
Jay, the one reason I don’t miss TSN.
Number 3? Wtf did I just watch?
***** Is that even a thing
Maya Blackmun It shouldn't be. that game could have gone on forever if those canucks had kept kicking it, why?
***** Haha yes it is the CFL. Living in ND im close to it and see it occasionally, but yeah I couldn't even follow it. Is that even football?
if you kick a ball into the endzone in the CFL you get a point so the kick returner was trying to kick it back out so the game could still be tied
***** Wouldn't it just be simpler to just return it and run it out?
2:22 clint bowyer came across the finish line upside down.
No shit we all have eyes
Immaculate Reception is the number 1 miracle of all time!
One of the best ever, along with Stanford and California.
Now I DO want to see the Top 10 Finnishes.
Immaculate reception! Black and Yellow!!
The next time they do one of these, they need to show that last 35 seconds of the grey cup
If only this was posted after the Alabama-Auburn game yesterday....
the field goal return would have probably made #1
There is a lot more to #8. The punt return was just icing on the cake.
3:55 "OH NO. OH NO. OH MY GOSH, NO D: OH, GOD D:
goddammit...i should never have clicked on a sports centre top 10...i guess i'll be on youtube for the next few hours...
Technically #4 isn't finish it went to ot
true
+X. Liner Actually neither is #10 because Blake Hoffarber's shot forced double OT (it also won the ESPY for Play of the Year).
Maybe a finish of that period
X. Liner a couple of them weren't
2:22 'Cliff Boyer came across the finish line on his roof'
LOL that ending "What's going on? WHERE AM I????" tfw when you realize, sports center is hell.
6 shouldve been higher
4:10 that was definitely an illegal forward lateral
It actually wasn't
It wasn't. If you did any research you would be able to figure that out
It was not an illegal forward pass. it was on the 25 yard line, and the pass went strait on the 25 yard line
0207xander it was illegal. He was behind the white line and the ball was caught in front of it.
Sick game!!
The second to last one I thought was the best. I cracked up when he said "I wanna throw up" loll
can someone please fire that host...

Darren Haga you are the moron.
Ive never seen this host before and I agree he is unfunny and wooden.
Call that entertainment?
Apart from the beginning where they mock the foreign guy's accent and the fact there are no clocks or scores on many of the videos so we can't see the context of the game, that was a good video.
+C Chadwick and the lack of nudity
+C Chadwick I found the crazy Finishes joke quite amusing...
+C Chadwick its pretty safe to assume all the clips had no time left and the team that scores needed only so many points
Oj Simpson It's safe to assume that. In fact it's an intrinsic element of the video. But how about context so we can see who is playing, how little time was left and what the score was? It's not a controversial point I'm making. I enjoyed the video.
#2 WAS THE GREATEST COMMENTARY EVER!!!!!!
"OH NO! OH NO! OH NO! O'MAH GOSH NO!! OH C'MON NO! God bless those kids. I am sick. I want throw up." lmao
#2 was crazier than #1, had you watched the last 3 or 4 minutes of the game
3:41 Well, we know who those commentators were rooting for. Clearly no bias whatsoever. LOL
Doctor Jones It's like Baseball commentators each team has their own.
The immaculate reception should definitely be number 1
"I'm so sick I think I'm gonna throw up" hahahaha
#6: Clint Bowyer, ur doing it wrong...
suomi mainittu, torilla tavataan!
Djkana 13 nähää
why did number 2 bring a tear to my eye. those commentators tho
Cal-Bears?! That's one of the classics!

Its espn thats always there.
THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD!!!!!
I love DeShawn Jackson having the presence of mind to make sure the clock was at 0 before crossing the goal line
#1 was a forward lateral
No it wasn't
Bryan Bordes Are you blind?
No I just have seen it many times and it barely went backwards. Look for the angle from the sideline and you'll see what I mean
NFL Films analyzed this play pretty extensively. They concluded that the ball did go backwards, by about six inches from where it was released to where it was caught. So the play is legit.
Okay Bills fan. I guess I'd be bitter too after 4 Super Bowl flubs.
2013 iron bowl
Awesome Bomb 03 ya wtf
Awesome Bomb 03 llnkxxxxcxxx🤡😔😔🏌🏽
"Greatest comeback of all tam!"
Tom Coughlin mad/rage/upset is the best lmao
how is the stanford cal game with the band not on here?
+Mike Hawk its pronounced "Cal Stanford game" thank you very much
last one was clearly a forward pass
No, the ball was in front of the 25 and caught in front of the 25. It's not where the player is, it is where the ball is.
I wouldn't say CLEARLY... BUT I do agree it was forward... The pass was made on the 25 yard line (the planted foot on the pass release was on the 25... The camera angle makes it look a lot worse than it was. In reality it was too close to call.
I wish they would have given some of the context to number 8, because the entire 4th quarter of that game was absolutely bananas
one of the greatest comebacks of all tame!
uhhh... #1 was clearly a forward pass..
uhhh... I think you need some glasses. Dope.
there are no flags on the field
No it was a lateral
It was forward
It wasn't illegal. If you knew anything about the play or cared enough to look it up, you'd find it went slightly backwards
How the fuck do you play Canadian Football???
I'm american and so I don't know it all but I did a paper on the differences for a college class lol so i at least looked it up
What's weird is the forward pass became legal LONG after it was in the US yet they pass the ball far more now you would of never of guessed that. Mostly because you need more yards per play due to less downs.
I find it a little more exiting. Its like anything can happen.
ask your lil brother
assmane999 The reason they were kicking it back and forth is because in the CFL if a team gets a touch back the other team is awarded a point not just lets go up to the 20 yard line.
I wish they would just take clips from the Esa Tikkanen archive and create a top ten. That guy is a legend. :D
Oh crap, #4 is hilarious every time
Number 4=Biggest fail ever!
Where's "The Play"?
haha i laughed too much at that finish joke
Actually laughed out loud at #4!
How was that not a forward pass in the Titans Bills game?!
+TommyCage0736 i have no clue
the ball traveled backwards
+TommyCage0736 The replay showed it as 1 yard backwards pass
+jo Smith the ball did not trackel backward it traveled a yard forward . The dude throw the ball from his 24 yard line and his dude catches it on his own 26 yard line that's called forward just simply watch were he throws and catches it from
Check the slow motion replay: 1 yard backwards
why is number 1 on number 1?
I love these anchors
For #9, I was there at the RBC Arena that game and when the goal was scored... man that place was sooo loud. Gives me chills watching it again.
what the hell was happening at no.3?
Canadian football
If the ball goes through the end zone or they get tackled in the end zone it's 1 point for the kicking team.
lol this could've been all basketball
Being from Tennessee and remembering the Titans game against Buffalo, it was good to see it as number one crazy finishes.
Growing up in an Indiana family, the Watford shot in 2011 was pretty crazy.
HOW THE HELL CAN YOU GUYS MISS CAL VS STANFORD, AUBURN VS ALABAMA!!!!?????!!!!
Did you read the date when this was published? How is Alabama Auburn gonna be on this. Explain
No I didn't oops, but sure as Hell know Stanford vs cal was before that date
Always funny to see people chicken and hide without having a picture, can you explain?
I don't need to spent so much time on youtube that I need a picture
I like that answer, but why even put effort to comment then? curiosity, to be proved right, a boost to the ego, just killing time? Ah good be anything, still suprised they left out standford vs cal, cal winning kickoff return with stanford band on the field. Good talking to you
How about the Browns vs Ravens kick 6?
You do realize this was made like 2 years before that happened right?
Honorable (or honourable) mention to Alabama and Auburn which I believe happened after this was made.
I graduated from John Tyler High School. I remember that game in '94 vs Plano East. 16-0 State Champs!
After that run along the goal line, I always wanted DeSean Jackson to get smashed to bone meal. What a jerk.
+FDzerzhinsky It was the last few seconds of the game, he was trying to run out the clock so they couldn't attempt to do what he just did, score off a kick off return for the win.
He wanted the time to run out.
+BestChampify no there was already 0 seconds on the clock before he even got to the goal line, he was just being typical showboat Jackson
Like y'all never did that in Madden stfu
I'm surprised that he didn't drop the ball at the 1 yard line.
I don't understand Canadian hand-egg at all.
I never understood why it's called handegg, a an American football has 2 points on the end, an egg has one and round on the other.
Most of the time its in someone's hands, so hand, and it resembles an egg more than a ball, so egg. Handegg.
Shedio No but it doesn't resemble an egg, it resembles a Bolillo bread. Like I stated an egg only has one pointed side not two.
"it resembles an egg more than a ball," meaning its more like an egg than a ball. It sounds funny too.
The reason you don't "understand" the game is it takes a thought process... It's not really your fault though... sine you have no real sports on that side of the pond. Try reading a rule book on the game or something... Then perhaps, if you can hold attention long enough, you MIGHT learn something.
How the immaculate reception wan't 1 is beyond me
Try this for three, 1) If you kick the ball out of the back of the end zone, you receive one point.
Apparently there are only 3 sports in the world according to americans lol.
Canadians
ClosestToTheSun canadians are not americans. check. are they europeans?!

Hard to believe Boise St. Fiesta Bowl wasn't in there. Epic game on the crazy finish scale
Guess the craziest play now is the seahawks throwing a pic at superbowl 49. Craziest and dumbest finish I have ever seen.
Number 3; is that even football? Why are they kicking the football back and forth??

Where is watford vs. leicester city?!? All of these endings are garbage compared to that.
Aguero too
The commentator was like "the greatest comeback of all time, all time"
THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD.
A lot of handegg bullshit that no one else understands... :-(
american football.... such a lame as game
Better than Canandian Football
The Immaculate Reception
#1- Mike Keith with the call of "The Music City Miracle"
