    That Merek Malik goal was after 12 or 13 tries from each team for the shoot out at the end of the game, the NYR coach at the time said he had hardly anyone left to take a shot, that's why that play is crazy.

      @@will4486Respectfully I'd have to disagree - what's the over under on the percentage of players that in that situation that would either just let themselves be tagged or simply just turn right and head back into the dug out. I guarantee you it rounds to 100%. Have you ever seen somebody even attempt that play? Heading all the way back to home plate in an earnest attempt to avoid making an out. ATTEMPT It? Baez instigated the play. He caused it. 100% of other players are out in that exact situation. In the dictionary under "Making something out of nothing" It says "See Javy Baez".

      @dankubus1633 Před rokem

      No, he didn't. I had been concerned about that, too, because if he had missed third, it would have made the jump far less impressive, even if the Cardinals had never caught it. But you can see it for yourself. At 2:02, it's possible to freeze the video with Coghlan's foot firmly on third base.

      I posted a link to a photo from that play that shows Coghlan's foot on third base and not touching the ground. The post was removed, possibly because someone in charge of the channel didn't trust the link. The photo is convincing enough to summarily and concisely end any argument. If the moderators would not be too suspicious of even harmless links, perhaps people could actually have a conversation.

      That photo sucks and it doesn’t show anything from that angle. He was inches inside third base and the photo shows his foot above the base because that’s when the video was paused. Slow this vid to .25 speed and watch it again.

      This collection isn't so bad but I know what you mean. The play was skillful and athletic but he couldn't do it again in 1000 tries. "Luck" is a dirty word in sports. Everybody can sure enough see BAD luck when it happens, sometimes carried off on the cart -- but GOOD luck? Never happens. Skill and preparation. Instinct and reflex. Never luck.
