Ozzy's vocal performance here is nearly better than the album's. Incredible job for a man who doesn't speak a word of English.
what
lmao
??
I’ve heard that people with speech impediments can sing better than they can talk because something about how the brain is structured. Idk if that’s true or not but it makes sense when you look at Ozzy.
@@jellyjub1690 ??
Man Bill is really hitting them drums like it owes him money
Lol 🤣
Easily one of my favorite 1970's drummers. Most people will cite Bonham or Moon, but Ward and Paice are equally as important to their respective bands. Ward's fills are unexpected and masterful.
Ward is hardly ever mentioned as a great drummer. Truthfully? I like him better than Bonham
@@dougtull4594 Absolutely Bill Ward is amazing.
@@thehunter7422 agreed 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
Imagine listen to this for the first time in 1970... Incredible
I still listen to the whole thing whenever it plays on my phone and I still get excited!
I imagine it would of scared the shit out of a lot of people on 1st listen. Then they would hear the pure genius of Sabbath. Obviously one of the world's most influential bands ever.
I get pissed every Friday night listening to Sabbath. I am happy as fuck
Indeed...I remember, and I was 6...
imagine listening to ANYTHING for the first time in the 60s and 70s smh... the beatles, HENDRIX, sabbath... an now we have trash and garbage... i love hip hop and classic rock but todays music is literally noise.
At the time this was filmed they were:
- Ozzy, Tony, and Bill 22 years old
- Geezer 21 years old
But like the Beatles they paid dues and honed their art with long gigs in the Hamburg clubs playing for GIs on leave ... hundreds of hours of playing onstage and improving as musicians
I know frightening
@@harrisonwintergreen1147 And faced their fare share of failures and humiliation before becoming big might I add.
@@sandipbiswas766 what sorts?
@@manonvernon8646 Well, Geezer Butler the bassist was actually the rythym guitarist who down-tuned his guitar to play it as a bass. So in their 1st gig, Geezer had borrowed a bass from a friend and kind of played it like a guitar so they were kicked out and were told that the singer (Ozzy) and the bassist were crap.
Later on they were beaten up outside the bar by 2 big men.
- From an Interview with Geezer Butler
Bill Ward used to have these huge 15 minute drum solos, because of which they were kicked out and no body would call them, so they had to change their band name.
- From an Interview with Tony Iommi
They never had a positive review about their album as they never spoke about peace, love, sunshine and girls like Zepellin did, and yet somehow continued.
They never got any radio play because they were deemed as "satanic", and they became popular purely on word of mouth.
- From an Interview with Tony, Geezer and Ozzy
Wow that was a handful.
i am turning 80 in a couple of weeks and Sabbath still rocks it so remember kids you are never to old to rock on keep it alive.

it's ludicrous that a band was this heavy in 1970
We loved this music! Parties were better when Sabbath was on the turntable. Fresh doobies, bonged water pipes & clinking beer bottles heralded favorite tunes. Good Times!
Check out Budgie
They're the fathers of Heavy Metal, that's why.
Many bands were “heavy” before heavy became a thing, sabbath just became the powerhouse of metal, I recommend looking up grand funk railroad, their live version of TNUC is heavy as fuck from the Midwest in 70

One helluva show my friend
Id give anything to be at this paris concert. If i had a time machine, id see the original funkadelic lineup with eddie hazel and tiki fullwood, watch em play super stupid and maggot brain, on some sunshine acid, then id head right over to see black sabbath in paris 1970.

Actually Black Sabbath is considered to be Thrash Metal NOT Heavy metal
+BECAUSE WHY NOT. And KISS is Pop Rock
+Abrar Shahid thrash is bands like slayer and metallica which really became popular after bands like sabbath had their climax

Must have been wild to be a young person in the 70's and hear this band for the first time, would have been one hell of an experience. They sound so fucking good in this performance too

Legendary. The 60s seemed rather sunny, and Sabbath came like a storm brewing from a unseen distance, caught everyone off guard and wrecked everything.
@R.H. Henker 🤟🏼
Black Sabbath has a philosophy. It makes the music way heavier than most.

@F MAC I think Led Zeppelin is way more important than Sabbath and floyd
@F MAC Led zeppelin was formed before Sabbath. Led zeppelin's first album was released in 1968. Then Led zep II in 69 and Led zep III in 70s. So no, if Sabbath didnt existed Led zep would still appear
