I can't figure out why Casio doesn't make their entire line Solar and Multi Band. Love that green strap and the quick release pins. It's about time. As if I needed more reasons to add to my G-Shock fandom. I'm all in.

For me, the GWB5600 is a better value. For the you get solar, Bluetooth, multi band 6, and the combo bracelet and a slightly larger case for the same price. Granted, you don’t get the camo colorway which is awesome, or the larger buttons, and of course the metal. But pound for pound the GWB is the a better value even if it’s missig some of the X factor this one has..

Every time I look at my BB model I grin, because the murdered-out, all black just seems so anti-Casio and anti-G-Shock in its simplicity. This new camo one looks awesome. I like the way it looks better than the other metal iterations, and I'm not big on camo.

I'm new to the whole world of watches, let alone G-Shock. I've never owned a watch that costs over $20 from like Walmart. I decided recently to just jump in. I knew I wanted a G-Shock due to the durability and nice build quality. I went on OfferUp and after digging around awhile I found this exact same model the GM5600B with the steel square and camo/black design for just $75.00 brand new with the tin because the guy got it as a gift and didn't like the camo design. I'm definitely in a honeymoon period with this watch, it's absolutely stunning and it's my first 'real' watch I've ever owned. I'm in my very early 20's but I think this watch could well last me decades with how sturdy it is. It tells time, it tells the date, it lights up when you need it to, and it's a steel G-Shock. I'd rate this 10 out of 10 considering I only paid $75.00 cash for it. It was a hand to hand transaction with a dude so no tax either.

Just bought this today in all black for 1200 Hong Kong dollars (154 usd) and I'm really happy with my choice, I also own the gmw5000 in gold and I was scoping the black one. I didn't really want to spend that much today and was a bit weary of this one you are reviewing. I can say it's a really good alternative, I only use solar and sometimes Bluetooth on the full metal and I only really like metal straps but I was really surprised when I put this on, very sexy, I'm still going to get the black or silver gmw5000 at some point and I could do with a red lcd on my next buy , anyhow I digress- this is a great buy! - my 2 cents🤔

I just bought this watch 2 hours ago. I was first looking at the base model at $90 but the buttons did indeed look a bit off putting, and the case screamed cheap at my face. It's hard to justify a $100 price increase for pretty much the same watch, but at the end of the day I am the one who's gonna have to wear it, it should look appealing to my eyes as well. My only uncertainty right now is if I can live with a negative display. Still contemplating whether I will return it for a model with a positive instead. It's so incredibly impractical! 4:15 - Yes! Yes, yes, yes! I DO! Want to change the stupid strap.. on my B5600.. because the stupid combi brace end links are overhanging and have absolutely no play/adjustment/flex... nothing..
Stupid design choice if you ask me.. I am lucky that my M5610 just perfectly fits me with the combi, but that is just pure luck, not a good design.. (also, it just so happens that the B5600 fits perfectly fine on my right, slightly larger wrist.. 🤦‍♂️) So.. yes, I do want to change my strap on the B5600 as it overhangs and I cannot stand it like that, thus it doesn't see any wrist time, although it's my favorite square.. A strap with some flex/play, or with a narrower angle from the lugs, going more at a right angle than the original might just fix this issue.. Maybe Casio could make some custom or adjustable end-links for the combi bracelets.. or I'd even take a standard resin/silicone one if it's going to conform to my left wrist.. (which it's actually what I've ended up doing just today and slightly alleviated the overhanging issue.. just because of the flex in the band, but still not quite enough.. and only when I tighten it around the wrist nearly to the point of being uncomfortable.. so, not really a good fix.. )

I find it interesting that 20 something's are calling this a "Real watch" Do people Read anymore!! I am amazed! At the peak of the information age,,these kids don't"care to" know the history of Horology! A few keystrokes and they can be there Is it! they just don't know that they don't know or they just don't care!

I bought my first Casio G-Shock in 1987 because of the incredible durability and price point! I didn't want to bang up my Brietling Navitimer cosmonaut, my "Real watch" I have been collecting G shocks since then but they are not the wonderfull mechanical timepieces I later learned to repair! Enjoy but Don't delude yourselves!

Do you think this will have strap breakage issues like the full metal square with resin strap? That blue square is gorgeous, by the way.

I like the squares (I have 2) but I’ve never fancied going for the metal versions. I’d start worrying too much about damaging them.

    • @Pete…NoNotThatOne

Bugster987 go for it, I’ve got a gold bling master, I do crap with chainsaws and wrenches and it’s fine. Considering Casio do all the same tests on the full metals as their resin ones, it’s not even an issue.
