Hey Buddy. It's not an easy job to replace a window. Plus the first time you do it the more confidence you build and the next one will be a piece of cake. Thanks for sharing.👍👍🍁

Hard to believe how hard you have to pound on that glass to get everything seated correctly!

I did both windows my’57, if I think a job will take an hour, it normally takes 4. Good video, have fun, stay safe.

Well! I learned the hard way that but basically I did what you describe herein. Interestingly my two windows needed replacement. One went just as it went for you in the video. But the second one became a bear! The channel for the second window for some reasons beyond me was too narrow and I could not get the seal and glass to fit the channel. I measured the old glass and the new glass and the both measured about .240'. The seal, as you stated, is way thicker than the original one (the new was .062" thick so when you insert it into the channel it becomes twice the thickness or .124" of an inch.) Since I was able to save the old seal, which is .032 inch thick, and the glass / seal fit ok. The bottom track on this window also did not allow sliding of the glass into the channel. So I thought like your referenced Canadian person who took tape (I used Gorilla black tape, doubled it in thickness) and it worked fine.
Now I have to replace the both window regulators rollers. That appears to be another challenge! Pressing the roller pins to mushroom the pins doesn't appear easy.

Glad to see you've conquered the glass job. I don't think there will be any problem in using the Gorilla tape. Good luck with the regulators.

Hey Dave, nice job working the tape onto the glass, my 53 has a wing as you know, but anyway the big glass on the drivers door was out of the track, at the time i was working on it i had not bought the truck yet, so i was doing the work for the owner to sell, lol, wouldn't you know i would end up buying it, but i was trying to do it without taking the track out , even went over and got setting tape, but try as i mite couldn't get the tape in so i siliconed it probably work fine till i address it someday, i had another question have you done any work or videos on the foot starter, mine has just lately been not kicking over on the first try, and seems to be doing it more and more, and do you know if they are all 6v, i have a 12v system but i don't think it matters, thank Mike

Hey Mike. Sounds like the contact switch on the starter might be worn out. I believe NAPA carries them and I also think several aftermarket shops carry them too. I'm still running the 6v starter I had on the 216 on the 235 without any issues. Back when I 1st got the 216 running I had to swap the starter and I got it from NAPA with a new contact switch on it. Been work great for many years.
You've got a nice truck, definitely a keeper.

@@Volfandt so if I pull it off i should be able to tell if that is the problem? And if it is I just ask for a contact switch

@@DesertRatFabrication Heres a link to the switch:
      www.chevsofthe40s.com/detail/5955/Chevrolet_Starter_Switch.html
Shop around you might find a better deal.
What happens with these switches is the contacts get burnt and worn and they don't make contact good.
      Good luck
