Man installing those windshields can be such a pain! Best to you brother, you are doing a wonderful job on this truck!

The lmc and soft gaskets are like night and day. I'm glad mine ripped when it did.
Good video Mark. I feel like it's time to pivot though.

Hey Mark, wow that windshield, I have to give you credit you have a lot of patience, you haven’t broke out the sledge hammer yet, lol, all lubed up with soap and water an a set of extra hands I would think you should be able to get that sucker, I think you have the right idea step back and have a cup of coffee and revisit it, catch you on the next one 😀😀

Use butchers twine instead of the thick rope. I've watched so many videos of roped in windshields being put in with too thick of rope. I have one of these trucks with the stainless trim around the windshield, it took me a few days on and off to finally get it installed. The centre is a pain, I had my glass fully seated on both sides beforehand, but after installing it in the truck the right pain pulled out of the center. I got it to slide over a tiny bit and filled the void with urethane.

The Aftermarket Parts Suck !!!!!! Good Luck Letting the sun warm the rubber helps

Hi Mark. I put a new windshield in my mustang. It went well. But the Rubber was well made. Seems like you are being sent very poorly made Gaskets . I need to replace the headliner in my old mustang and hope I can save the gasket. Who knows what kind of a mess they would send these days. The very best of luck. As always I liked and shared. All my very best.

Thanks, Bobby. I’m already searching for a better gasket. Hopefully it will be higher quality.

OK by the end of the video you have the windshield partly in the truck. Im still thinking warm the gasket may help it move and flow better. I see you have a plastic bar as well good idea. So maybe hair dyer or heat gun. Warm Soapy water.

Find a garbage can for that gasket and get a soft seal gasket, are you sure the stainless trim goes in with the windshield or is put in place after the glass is in? I think I have seen the trim installed after the glass is in but not sure , my 51 GMC didn’t have the deluxe trim.

You were probably cussing us the whole time. Glass Cleaner is a trick that I learned from an old master. The tape will stick soon after it dries out. Did you soak the rope before trying to pull it in? What diameter rope were you using? Pulling down and pushing in about killed me when Hiett and I were installing mine. I know what you are talking about with the sore hands. I used to want the Deluxe chrome on the outside, not anymore. I am so sorry it is fighting you. I liked the video but I feel bad about it.

Warm the rubber in the sun. then install the glass first then the trim.
