Having Admin Lt. telling you not to carry your holster inside the institution after you just got done taking Richard Alan David to Marin General does not help when asked why? It might intimidate the inmates and they will sue. Kern to Vacaville, SQ, Tracy to Corcoran, Salinas valley or CMC! How much money did they blow on new patches that added rehabilitation to the patch? No one ends up at CDC-R on accident. One in 3k might get rehabilitated but stats don’t lie. Sadly you would go to prison for what was acceptable practice 25 years ago. Inmates are definitely running the asylum.

I really love your channel man. I know he's an intense guy but I really appreciate that he didn't let bad things in life crush him and take him down a worse route. He was given lemons and made lemonade. My father and my siblings all grew up in somewhat similar situations to him here in Australia. We were kicked out of home in our early to mid teens, working, renting, going to school and there was an easy route to go to drugs or turn to crime but we pulled through.
It forced us all to grow up very fast.
For me, I was very lucky to have a good community of friends and an older brother. The army was a good place for me to go to so I could get my shit together too.

This man has unending compassion for others given the life he was handed. This is a great video and peek into a life that most of us know nothing about. Oh humanity……….our choices-great consequences.

This is a total gem of a guest.
    Lots of life experience.
    Very personable.
I could hear him talk for hours.
The insanity that he saw in the prison has molded a very unique personality on top of his upbringing. Several times I couldn’t breathe I was laughing so hard.

Man, when he mentioned "it's luck" that hit home. I worked in the cemetery business for a bit and as logical and rational as I tried to be about things sometimes, I learned that luck really does have a lot to do with life even if you don't believe in it. I relate to his story in some ways and there's been plenty of times in my life where I know I shoulda died, but I'm still here. Why? Cause sometimes it's just luck.

Super interesting guy. Love… how he didn’t allow an unfortunate start in life to prevent him from working hard to do and be better; how he has the personality to get along with everyone; how he was and still is wise enough to learn from older people; his no-nonsense, yet fair mentality; paying it forward; appreciating the little things…

I dig this guy so much - the way he talks straight, always has a story to tell, his whole attitude...
He's been through a lot, and had the perseverance to make something of his life. That's something that you're born with. He's a role model of sorts for those who experienced a rough childhood - a walking example of life's possibilities.
    👏 👏 👏 👏 👏

    You are inspiring!
I’m similar (only child to an only child). Ran away from home, put myself through university.
Everyday I do my best to be my best.
I was a flight attendant out of university so I could finally travel and see the world.
Now I’m a teacher, trying to make a difference.
I have been determined since the age of 5 that I needed to become successful and I knew I would be doing it alone.
You have given me a lot of great stuff to think about.
