    As a Cardiff fan, I think it's near undeniable that Swansea's management and instillment of footballing culture over the last 10 years has been miles more successful than ours. Of course, we have a greater historical presence, and I am proud of that. But in recent years, the Jacks have enjoyed much more success in terms of footballing style and longevity in the top flight. Only in the last 2-3 years Cardiff have looked to use more homegrown Welsh lads, which is fantastic, however it's something we should have been doing consistently beforehand (which the Swans were). The fan of ours in the pub who plowed on about how great we are leading the line in Welsh football is blind to the fact of how poor we have been in recent times (I'd say since the 17-18 promotion year). All in all, I'd love to see us attempt to implement a real footballing style and culture at Cardiff because at the minute we are heading down a slippery slope. I know the Jack's aren't exactly flying either, but I guess the 3-0 result at the Liberty speaks for itself.
    Loved this video. Fantastic to see more people taking a greater interest in Welsh football. Dewch ymlaen, Cymru

      How? You've never been a bigger club than Cardiff. Your lot was pissing irrelevant till your promotion in 2011. Before that you could hardly fill your ground to the max cos you had much less blinking fans. Even when we went back down to the championship first time in 2014, our fans were and still are to this day much more louder than the Liberty's. Your fans resemble the faint sound of a Library. The CCS has seen more trophies than your place has since your time in the Premier League till now. With two promotions, championship title in 2013 and second place automatic finish in 2018. We've got more trophies and history in our cabinet and past than your club as a whole. Despite our 3-0 defeat which we didn't deserve to win at all in the end, you're still behind us on derby win with 38 to our 47. You've failed loads of times to do the double over us when you've had the first win and probably will again this season. Even if you do, you'll still be in our shadow with less history, less relivence and less derby wins. Face it boyo, we are your capital!.💙🤍💙🤍🐦

      @@hywelevans3084 I think what I’m hearing is a sad, salty Cardiff fan that is so hurt that they got battered by us that he has to spout bullshit to try and make himself feel better about his poor little club. Shame. Currently, Swansea and Cardiff have the same amount of attendance each game, and you have the bigger stadium because you decided to upgrade stupidly. Nobody wants to see your style of football, if it can be called football at all. Cardiff is a bigger city population wise. And yet you STILL can’t fill your stadium. It’s been 10 years Hywel. We are far more successful than you guys. And you’re scared of that. We’ve had 7 years in the premier league consecutively, 2 play off finals, the League Cup, European football AND a beautiful playing style. Stop living in the past.
      Also, statistics show that since being in the English Football leagues, Swansea have actually won more derbies. Stop living in the past. Face it boyo, you’ll never compare 🦢⚫️⚪️⚫️⚪️

    There is a broader tapestry here to consider and that is regardless of the rivalry Welsh football has come on leaps and bounds in the last 10 years. Neither team may never be as successful as Man U or Arsenal, but not so long ago we were playing these teams in their league. We've both got there before and we can both do it again. In an ideal world both teams would get on and support each other, but nobody is going to make that first move are they? This documentary proves that. Then again maybe the rivalry needs to continue. That kid in the pub 🤣🤣 no idea what he's talking about bless him. The swans are by far the superior club, better footballing side, better run club, bigger fan base and more recently the past decade or 2 far more success on the pitch than Cardiff have achieved in their history. By watching this short film on its own you realise why the swans fans always feel they have to get one over that lot up the road. Horrible conceited arrogant lot.

    When you consider just how " big " Cardiff City is made out to be, i.e. , representing the Capital of Wales, much larger catchment area, larger ground for that reason, etc., etc., it beggars the question, " Why don't Cardiff beat Swansea every time they play ? How come Swansea had a seven season stint at the top table, while Cardiff could only survive one season, albeit on two separate occasions.
    Cardiff City brought shame on both themselves, the City and the Nation, by having to fend off numerous threats of being wound up for not paying their taxes. Is that what " big " Clubs do ?
    Cardiff City STILL haven't settled the transfer fee they owe Nantes for the unfortunate Emiliano Sala. They trotted him out as their player. Had him holding their shirt, scarf around his neck, etc. Yet when push came to shove, claimed " He was never our player ". Disgusting behaviour from this self appointed " big Club "
    The bottom line is that Cardiff City, the football Club, are reviled throughout the land, and further afield.
    I don't know any neutral who has a good word to say about them.
    Swansea City, on the other hand, are admired and revered on the world stage.
    Come on you Swans'.

    It's a really good documentary and as a cardiff fan I have my bias but as much as we hate it Swansea have had great success, but still has got them nowhere even with 7 years in the prem and a league cup win the fanbase hasn't grown at all but Cardiff's history is still greater and always will be and nothing will change that and Cardiff will have its resurgence but right now we are in a pit and Swansea are still showing us up on derby day which is just embarrassing

    • @andrewramos5938
      @andrewramos5938 Před 2 lety +4

      Swansea have a massive international fanbase and multiple times the social media presence that cardiff has. They have the largest amount of followers on social media of any efl club besides stoke and that’s directly due to the years spent in the prem and the time in europe . No one really knows cardiff outside of the uk because they went up just to be cannon fodder for everyone else while swans made things happen. In terms of a world scope swans have a much bigger fanbase than cardiff now and the numbers back it up

    Abbandonato/Legg and the rest are conflating two issues - yes Cardiff are the bigger city, but that doesn't make them the bigger or more successful club in any way, and no footballing inferiority is felt (that's obvious) on the part of Swansea fans. As for city size, to feel an inferior human being based on how many people live around you is just ridiculous, and not very realistic either. I suppose Cardiff fans would like to cherish the illusion that people are jealous of them, but that just doesn't make sense in the real world.
