It is no coincidence that Celtic,s rough patch, came when CCV was injured, he is the rock. We absolutely need to keep him this summer
Maeda missed the draws to Motherwell and Aberdeen and the loss to Kilmarnock and the first half of the first loss against hearts (the second half he came on for the first time after injury having missed 7 games)
He’s already said he’s happy where he is, unless we get an outrageous offer he won’t leave
The Rangers* ball spammed on Saturday. I still find it unforgivable that countless European teams with pedigree fail against them. About time that changes.

Really liking these player focus reviews Paul, good job! We need to give the likes of CCV and MOR more wages to retain them for a few seasons more than they normally would so we can start getting a 4-5 year rotation of very good players that see us progress in Europe. The rotation is about 2 seasons and then gone, not enough time for a team to develop together properly.
I think the only chance we've got of keeping players is by showing them that we are ambitious. Yes, they'll likely still choose an Atletico / Inter Milan for treble the money but if Celtic can't show them we mean business then why should they stay?

Hopefully Johnston is fit but if not I’m sure the Brickie will step in and do a job. Re Forrest, he’d a great game v them, only criticism I have of him on Saturday was at their goal. He didn’t track Barisic back. Johnston had both Silva and Barisic to deal with, he had no cover. Armstrong has been key to Kilmarnock v us so we will need to ensure he’s covered whichever wing he plays on.
Yeah, Rodgers confirmed Johnston is okay. Good point on Forrest for their goal, he did lose concentration.
The knowledge that we don’t need to win is a massive pressure buster, we can go play our football & hopefully that should be good enough to beat Kilmarnock. I’ll obviously take the draw, but expect us to win..🍀

The result is not all that matters. Brendan Rodgers has last years team who nearly lost the league. Dont put a gloss on it. I would like to think you can be honest.
At this stage of the season it is all that matters. The season has been difficult, we have to get much better but it's completely wrong to talk about being honest after saying 'Brendan Rodgers has last years team.' He doesn't and never has had it. We lost Jota & Starfelt - two key players. Arguably 3, because Aaron Mooy more than contributed in 2022-23. He's been able to field McGregor, Hatate & O'Riley together 7 times all season. Carter-Vickers has missed 12 league matches, a third of the season through injury. Abada wasn't able to contribute anything from mid-September due to injury and then the political circumstances that ensued. 4 key contributors gone from the club. Another 2 missing for long spells with injury.
Of course, we have vast improvements to make on and off the pitch. But it's disingenuous to say he's had last year's team.
