- Hey party people! Thanks for hanging out with me while I share this new around the house happenings with you! I got some things done around the house; I packed some nurse gift baskets which came out looking amazing!! So excited to give them to the nurses while I go into labor with this fifth and final baby!! I also share some amazing, quick, easy, simple, and delicious football food recipes!! My fav. I also clean up around the house a bit - you know, the kitchen, laundry, etc. That's life as a mom! I'm 58 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, we are finding it impossible to replace it. We can get by, but cant seem to get ahead. Can I just say, as an L&D RN, that you are my dream patient?? How wonderful of you to show your appreciation to your nurses this way! I can count on one hand the special gifts I’ve received from patients over the years. Not that it’s necessary, but let’s face it. Nursing is tough! And to know you’re appreciated is beautiful!😘💗💙💗💙

Mom of 3 young adult kids...... we all know the nurses actually do all the hard work to bring our babies into the world, the Dr. is called, comes in, delivers the baby & gets all the adulation. But us Moms, we know who deserves it the most on that day!!! I am now recovery from Appendectomy. My nurses meant everything to me & I told them so!!
“Pregnancy isn’t my thing” … Does it 5 times… lol I love you!!!! Stay healthy and safe through this storm!
I worked as a L&D Nurse over 25 years ago and it wasnt common practice to get nurse gifts so I never had a Mama thank me with gifts. Looking at your baskets.... That is really going to mean so much to your nurses. We end up missing lots of breaks and lunches and sometimes, just a little grab and go snack is just perfect to keep us able to be where we need to be, when we need to be there. Seriously, the gesture from your family speaks volumes of the kindness in your hearts. Also, just a quick easy trick to attach cards to baskets... A hole punch for the corner of the card or tag and a bit of curling ribbon or anything that ties, even a twist tie works. Okay, I have to unpause to get back to the foooooddddd!!

After delivery I came back to the hospital with homemade cookies, even for cleaning ladies (for my first, one of her took my son, explained how to have him calm, I loved her so much daring to come because we always need someone no matter the job)! You are so sweet! They deserve it so much❤

When I was hospitalized for 15 days in a solo room, as I slowly got a lil better from Covid, I ordered a large pepperoni pizza with wings ,one night for the floors nurses, another evening, I ordered a large platter of cookies and decorating stuff and icing .Just to say thank you.
Wow! Those gifts are literally perfect. The chapsticks are so thoughtful! The pens- perfect for nurses. And protein bars, who thinks of these things?! Kim- you’re a genius!!! I would be stoked to dig into that. 🥰🥰

Oh my gosh, Kim. It hit me when I was about to leave the hospital with my final baby. I broke down to a nurse (a stranger) and I never cry. That has been the hardest "last" time so far. He's 5 now. I'm thinking of you a lot this week since I know you are about to have a baby or have a newborn and Ian is on its way to your doorstep. Stay safe and I'm looking forward to that story time after the dust/water settles.
'last time' moments are so precious. With all of our kids as they grow we think - is this the last time I will carry you... etc. so many emotions!

The baskets are great! It’s better than the mountain on the counter & yes it’s oh so satisfied to clean the lint trap! We are so weird & easily entertained! 😂
It helps to add the sanitizer to the softener reservoir. You can pour it in any of them, but from what I understand, it runs that as the last cycle before the final rinse so everything is clean and Then it's all sanitized :)

Your nurses gifts are wonderful! They definitely deserve many thanks for their hard work. My first son was born 38 years ago, and I had one nurse. She was an angel. I was in labor for almost 22 hours and it was back labor. It was a natural labor and my nurse Lisa stayed with me passed her shift because we hit it off so well and she didn’t want to leave. I’ll never forget her kindness and selflessness. Thank you NURSES! I made a dip last week that was so delicious! It’s 1lb. Jimmy Dean sausage, 8 oz cream cheese, and a jar of your favorite salsa. Easy, Peasy and scrumptious. Praying for a safe delivery and healthy mom and baby! Love you all!❤️

Six weeks postpartum and we did mints, gums, chapsticks and chapstick holders for our nurses gifts. They all loved them so much and even nurses we didn’t have in our room came in to thank us. ❤

We use the Lysol in are laundry It gives me a peace of mind. For when kids are in school

I love my Lysol laundry sanitizer! I use it in every load, and it really helps with stinky towels! I secretly also use it in my carpet cleaner and sometimes to mop my kitchen 🤣

@@thewadsquad Not sure if the Lysol laundry stuff I've used before is the same (same shape but had a blue cap) but the directions said to put in the fabric softener compartment. I can't find it in my area anymore and I'm sooo bummed! :( lol hope you are all staying safe and well :)
Hi Kim, I had all kinds of skin issues I went to every doctor every dermatologist nobody could figure it out. I started using that Lysol sanitizer in my wash and I haven’t had a skin problem since. I love the scent of it.

A few pointers about the clean laundry baskets (we raised 4 kids, no one else ever does the laundry except me, I have a system and I don't want other people ruining my system). I kept a clean smallish clean basket for each kid in the laundry room and a big one for my husband and I (I don't expect him to do laundry or put away his laundry, he works SO much). First of all, I have shaker pegs along the wall and IMMEDIATELY hang clothes that hang. So take them out of the dryer and hang them up. This includes nice clothes and heavy things like jeans and sweatshirts. The baskets are for drawer items like socks, underwear, and t-shirts. I do fold those things when I put them in the baskets. The basket for my husband and I takes about 2 weeks to fill with clean clothes, so basically twice a month I carry it to our room and put the stuff in the drawers. The kids, once they were old enough, were in charge of their own basket. Some of our kids were good at it, others not so much. Once the clean basket was overflowing I kinda had to force a couple of them to take it and put the stuff away, but honestly some will just dig in there for what they want to wear over and over and over again. The hanging stuff has to be carried to the closets often because the pegs can only hold so much. Kids who never wanted to put their stuff away had clean hanging clothes dumped on their bed, sorry not sorry. Hanging nicer clothes and folding items that go in the drawers/baskets solves the "everything gets wrinkled" problem. All of your school kids should be old enough to take their full clean baskets to their rooms, put the stuff in drawers, and bring the empty baskets back. Hope this helps. Oh, and we don't reuse towels for when all the kids were here I did laundry almost daily, now not so often since we only have one kid still living with us. But still, I keep up and don't let it pile up!

As a retired RN I appreciated gifts as they went out of their way to thank us when their loved one was sick. Sometimes at holidays they would slip a sweet card with money.
