- Hey party people! Thanks for spending the day with me in this new declutter, clean with me, and cook with me video! I am in desperate need to make some room for this new baby we're having and even though our circumstances aren't ideal, even after moving into a bigger house we have found that the additions are not complete and we will be needing to have the baby in our room for some time. Because of this I am needed to move our dresser elsewhere so I am going through it and decluttering it! woop! Also really giving my closet the attention it deserves. My closet is the dumping ground for everything I need to get to but don't have time for in the moment! Please tell me I'm not the only one with a dumping ground. I am feeling like I'm drowning lately with a million things to do. ... also we cannot forget self care sessions.

I wish I had a closet that size and my husband have a closet like Mr. Wads has. But we don't. It is an 8ft long with 5ft doors that bifold. So there is approximately a foot and half that you can't reach on each side. Clothes are pushed in the back and things on the floor but don't know how to organize and be functional??!!

You are not a failure! I don't know where you get the energy especially being several months pregnant. It's just me and my husband. Sometimes he's not hungry, if he's had a large lunch, and then it's an especially good day when I don't have to cook dinner. I love watching your videos, and even though we have nothing in common (I'm middle-aged, no children) I can relate to you with cooking and housekeeping etc.

I’m in the same boat Donna, I’m older but..still disabled, pinched nerve in my lower back, and it’s very difficult to walk,I have a neat walker to help me get around the house so that part helps, but..it’s still hard to walk by myself without my walker. I hate it all. I use to be able to do most anything with cleaning etc. not anymore. I keep trying to do what I can.

I know the “sometimes I feel like a fool, sometimes I feel like a failure, but I do my best and I hope you do to” was offhand but it honestly hit me right in the gut and made me tear up! 😭❤️
Put the bassinet next to your bed, the desk on the wall where the bassinet is now, and a rocker in the corner where your desk was. The dresser can double as a changing station and baby stuff holder. This will work for the first month. Probably. My mom tells a story about how they didn’t have a bassinet so I slept in a dresser drawer. She took the drawer out of the dresser, added blankets and put me inside. This was in the 1960’s. I also was either held or placed inside a box while my folks drove. No car seats. Somehow I survived!
The closet would be a great place for a rocker and a narrow side table where the ottoman sits. You could also use the dresser for baby things and possibly a changing table at least temporarily.
My little one is close to Meredith's age. She's so spunky like her. I just smiled the whole time she spun on the green ottoman. My heart melted 🥰

Kim I wanted to say thank you. I have always felt that motherhood would always be out of reach for me that I would never be good enough or ready enough or that i wouldnt do a good job. Watching your videos of your family over the past years has really given me a new mindset. My husband and I are now seriously considering having a baby and i dont feel so overwhelmed by it. I feel like finally as ready as I'll ever be 😊😅 Love you guys, and all the party people. 🥰

Hey Kim, one of the things I have learned while living in small spaces is to not discount the space at the foot of the bed. Why not turn your dresser around and put it there. Then you could put your desk where your dresser is and tuck a rocker in the corner.

I think the rug is perfect!! I’d pick one color from the rug to use for an accent wall, to blend together nicely without it being too much. ❤️❤️

When you done cooking on the Forman grill,while it is still warm place wet paper towels on the grill and close it. When you go to clean it the mess will wipe right out!!
Hello Kim! You are the mess of my heart and I love how you are truly able to laugh at yourself. My mom never ever laughed at herself and it’s taken years of therapy to make me laugh at myself. I’m not even pregnant and I’m tired. I can imagine how you fall into bed at night after your full day as a Momma and homemaker. Love your videos.
If you do the playroom you can get a bright darkish green (think stains won’t show) rug as “grass” then rainbow walls and some of those cloud lights from ikea. Maybe that would be a better baby room. If you want the bright rug on the floor, I would do a black slipcover or pleather couch in there that can maybe make into a bed. Or white with slipcovers but you will have to wash them more often. I see the full house vibe in that rug. Kinda late 80’s early MTV early 90’s Full House “Kimmie’s” sweater vibe.
You can make it more tween hip with the rug and some 45 and bigger vinyl hanging on the wall and a neon sign maybe on the wall. If it’s for Meredith and baby to play I would do the more calming colors that are in the pastel rainbow wall. You could also get some stick on rainbows that are just peel and stick and be able to remove them when you are sick of the theme.
The bright rug I would do really basic black or white or if will get really chaotic with the toys being more bright colors.

yes move the desk to where the bassinet is now and get rid of the dresser and put the bassinet and recliner where the dresser is and u can put a change table where the desk was.

Hey Kim☺️ I have an idea for your bedroom furniture conundrum! What if you utilize the space at the foot of you bed? The 2 ideas I had were 1)the baby cradle could go there, your bureau on the wall between your door and closet, and the rocking chair + changing table where the bureau is now. 2)the bureau could be flipped around and be at the end of the bed, the cradle and rocking chair could go where the bureau is now.
Just some thoughts! You said you can’t put anything in the middle of the bedroom where you have all that space. But you could kind of use it if you wanted too in one of those ways or if you guys think of something else.

Ok, hear me out. Put that dresser at the foot of your bed. Use it to store all the baby things/clothes etc. Move the desk to the wall where the dresser is now and put a rocker char in the corner where the desk is.
Best way to clean a George Forman Grill: get it hot, take several layers of paper towels and get them soaking wet, lay across surface and close it up let it steam for a minute or two then using tongs wipe with the steamy wet towels. You may have to use a clean set of wet towels to finish cleaning. Hope this helps!

Random person here: If the wall is getting a big rainbow, then keep the rug neutral. If the walls are neutral, then get a colorful rug. In the end you probably will not be happy with how the colors look together.

Always a pleasure. Dinner looks dynamite. Love potatoes cooked in foil packs on the grill. Try making them flat instead of just a big crumbled up pack. They get nice crispy parts. Delish.

Watching this in pieces. So your grandfather clock is cool. You key wind it but for using the weighted chains you find the end of the chain that’s not the big heavy weight end and pull it gently down on what looks like each of two weighted chains. In doing this you set the clock for chain wound ticking. Then you gently start the pendulum to get it started and the weighted chains will maintain the pendulum and I think keep the clock wound without the key. If you keep pulling the chains down I think you wouldn’t need to crank with the key and the whole pendulum function is going as long as you pull down the chain. You prob want to time how often the weights get to the bottom and need to be pulled on the opposite side. My grandmother had one and we enjoyed helping restart it and resetting the chains and pendulum. Sounds doofy but there’s a satisfaction in getting a ticking clock started or winding it up again. It’s like old watches needed to be wound every so often to maintain continuing to function and had no battery just a wind on the side.
It’s cool and a curiosity at your kids’ ages. I will link a dude doing the chain part so it’s more visual bc me explaining it sounds too wordy.

Put the crib where your dresser is and the rocking chair where your desk is and put your desk where the bassinet is now. That leaves removing the dresser and using your idea of storage inside the closet. It will all flow nicely! So excited for your new baby!
I think you should do the rainbow wall OR the colorful rug but not both! You can always add color with other accessories like pillows or curtains!!

My philosophy when I'm decluttering is "If I needed this item, would I go look for it, or go shopping for it?" "Will I wear this item again within the next x amount of time?" "Do I like how I feel in this item?" I have dropped the mentality of holding onto items because I loved them at one time or so I can fit into them again later... because if I fit into them again, I would most likely not look for that item to fit into again, I would just buy something. I shop secondhand and donate when I no longer fit or love an item. It saves me money and I feel better about getting rid of items I no longer wear.
Kim, have you tried taking a wet wash cloth to your GFG while it is still hot? You get the cloth soaked and a little soapy, place in on the grill, close it for a few seconds, then wipe it off with a second just wet cloth. Super easy.

For your bedroom, if you don’t really use your bedside table closest to the wardrobes/bathroom, I would move that and put the chair there! It’s a nice wide space for it, but if need be you could push the bed closer to the glass door. Then just put your side table where the dresser is.
Love the colorful 90s rug! I say go for it and then use lighter shades of those colors for the wallstripes.

Last year I was gifted my great grandmothers mantle clock….it’s gorgeous…and the chimes are crazy loud…but I love it.

Move the dresser more toward the middle of the room and move the desk behind the back of the dresser!
I would suggest moving the dresser over to where the baby bed is now. That way you have an entire wall where you can put the recliner and bed to create a place for baby. You could also swing the computer area around to where the dresser is and then put the baby bed and recliner there using the corner walls and create a real baby nook. Just a thought... whatever works for you is best, of course.
I always look forward to Wads day. I spend a lot of time in bed because of chronic back pain and depression. You make my day a little happier and love everything you do. Can’t believe you just found your maternity clothes, isn’t it getting close.
