Forever in and of itself wasn't terrible, but the plethora of modern game mechanics unifying the game bog it down. If Duke was a little faster and could shoot while sprinting, and could carry all his weapons, the game would be MUCH better.
ShadowAngel I see you're very biased. You may not care about a response to a 2 year old comment, and that's cool, but here's some truth just in case. All Gearbox did was release the game as is. They didn't add much of anything, nor tried to "improve" it. They just wanted to preserve the original vision of 3D Relms for Forever, and finally release it to stores. A lot of the humor was by 3D Relms, as well as the two other devs before GB, including the rape jokes, which were looked down upon by critics. And while I disagree that Gearbox "noobed" the gameplay, because all that is on the two other devs, but even then that wouldn't have saved the aged gameplay mechanics, awkwardly offensive humor, and level designs, if the game went without. I'm not saying Gearbox isn't at fault, but the blame isn't solely on them. @@meh3720 You know I hate to necro-post but sense they did bring some Dn1 enemies back. What they could of actually done is just do a story where proton and the aliens are in the same campaign instead of dlc. They could of taken concepts for duke stuff from the previous game and even brought back the robo-hand, grabblin hooks, and jetpack duke had as well as some of his better vehicles. (he had a motorbike ,rocket ship and a jet bike at point.) the monster truck idea was kinda lame.
