    Hey Nina! Thank you so much for such an insightful video. A personal question, is the transfer from a bsc in Animal science to the Bvsc still applicable if I am already doing my second year?

    Thank you so much Nina this really helps! When it comes to animal experience is there a further drop down menu for each of those categories or is it only the ones you mentioned?

    Hey Nina. Can you get into vet nursing if your APS is above the expected APS score but you did bad in math🤷‍♀️ but got good grades in other subjects required.?

    Hi Nina! Do you have any tips on trying to shadow or anything related to animal experience to do amid the pandemic, because most places will turn you away because of the virus?

    • @vetlifeza6688
      @vetlifeza6688  Před 3 lety +2

      Hey! I know it's a big problem at the moment, I'm also struggling to find a place to shadow. My best advice would be to go somewhere that you have personal relationships, e.g. the vet you usually take your pets to or a family member who is a vet. If you happen to take your own pet in for a procedure they are usually also more likely to allow you to watch if you ask, that is the only way that I've been able to shadow since the pamdemic, unfortunately everything is a bit more difficult at the moment

    If I dont get conditional acceptance with gr 11 final results from last year , does it mean that I cant get in with my final matric marks this year? Or can i still be accepted without conditional acceptance?

      Hey! Yes, doing better in math can definitely help increase your chances, but obviously your best option would just be to do your best in all of them 😊 but since math counts more I would definitely make that my main focus

    • @vetlifeza6688
      @vetlifeza6688  Před rokem

      Hey! You can still apply, as long as your matric marks still meet the minimum requirements. If not, you would either need to rewrite your matric exams, or you could personally contact the university to see if there are alternative options 😊

    • @vetlifeza6688
      @vetlifeza6688  Před rokem

      Hey! In South Africa, it's only the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort campus, that offers veterinary medicine 😊 applications are online, I believe they are already closed for this year, but you are welcome to apply next year!

    Hi Nina.. Can I get to vet school with a national diploma in animal health from Unisa, plus an animal production diploma from tut, and 10 years experience in the sector.. 🙆‍♀️I can inject through the jugular haha.. Please what r my options.. I need to be a qualified vet..

    • @vetlifeza6688
      @vetlifeza6688  Před rokem

      Hey! All of this would definitely count in your favour, however, your matric marks would still need to meet the minimum requirements. Your best option would be to apply, include all of your qualifications and make sure you have all the necessary shadowing (which in your case would probablycome from work experience). If you were to not get in, I would recommend contacting the university to discuss what the best way to apply and present your qualifications is. I hope this could help, if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

    This May sound like a weird question but how many animals did you observe during your shadow time , I have 583 currently after a year , what number do you suggest as the lowest number for the amount of animals

    • @vetlifeza6688
      @vetlifeza6688  Před 3 lety

      Hey, like I said in the video, they don't really care about the amount of shadowing you do, so not the amount of time or animals or practices, they just want to see that you did something of everything, so if you saw 583 dogs it won't help you much, but if that number consists of cattle, sheep, horses, poultry, small animals etc. that were seen by the different vets that they mention on the VAF, you would have everything covered that they're looking for 😊 I hope this helps

      Hey! I actually had a question about this the other day, but I actually have no idea, as the university usually does it for their students. You can email the university administration (henriette.vanderwatt@up.ac.za) and they should be able to point you in the right direction, or you can email the SAVC (director.registrations@savc.org.za), I hope you come right! If you do, please let me know so that I can let other people know how in the future 😂
