Have you ever dealt with Nutsedge in your yard? What strategies have you tried, and how effective were they?

Man, you are so right, i need a dedicated spray bottle mixed up with sedgehammer at all times. Most people dont realize how hard sesges are to kill even with the best products on the market. Im starting to see another late season infestation over here this fall that ill have to deal with soon...even though i dont really want to. 😅

Exactly right! Sedgehammer works well too. I wanted to use something this time around that I could get locally and was cheaper, and so far so good... I am planning to give Dismiss a try in the springtime. Have you used that before?

@@GriffithLawnLabs I can't buy Dismiss in Cali and never needed it up in OR. This neighborhood I moved into has major Nutsedge and only this year did I fully grasp how difficult it is to kill permanently when the problem is long established. The tubers underground come back after multiple rounds of everything I've thrown at them. And by multiple rounds I mean I've hit the sedges on my parkway strip about 6 times with glyphosate and 4 rounds of sedgehammer and I still have a bit that is coming back anyway. Sedge control IMO is going to be a multiple season project for nearly everyone.

@@TurfMechanic That's unfortunate 😑 why does California have to be so lame? Can't get your hands on the good stuff...

@@GriffithLawnLabs California is lame because too many Dems are in charge here. I can't buy anything here that actually works. I've had family in other states and I have them send it to me. The last one was Sedgehammer for nutsedge. Now I have to ask my son send me Atrazine because I have Oxalis popping up (weird time) in my St. Augustine.

Yes, it is. Poa is rough too. Especially right now

@@GriffithLawnLabs what’s your thoughts on some of these glypho resistant grasses that can help eliminate poa? I’m considering putting one down.

Somewhere in there there is a funny, inappropriate nutsedge joke…
