    Okay, so I've watched a LOT (dozens?) of videos on lawn care, specifically weed treatment and fertilizers. Your matter-of-fact style and transparency with the mechanical issue make you very easy to watch! The fact that your product choices and techniques exactly match another well-known content producer ("Doc"...IYKYK!) also adds even more credibility to your suggestions. Keep up the great job...I am a new subscriber and will be sharing your videos with my neighbors!

      Thanks so much for that and welcome aboard! I really appreciate the support and sharing my videos with your neighbors. Doc is a wealth of knowledge, and I like using the Andersons products. His pre-emergent method is second to none, but my channel strives to carve its own path. I like to focus my efforts on finding products that work well within a budget too. You will see this in my product recommendations in my monthly 'it's going down' emails. It's all about balancing quality with affordability to keep your lawn looking great without breaking the bank.

    In Texas and just sprayed the 5 yards we take care of with prodiamine. Temps hit 80’s this week and soil temps spiked from 53 to 71.
    Congratz on your spreader upgrade from that mini-Scott’s, BIG improvement.

    Thank you my guy for reassuring my decision to NOT pre-emerge this spring.....I just seeded my backyard early fall through renovation and was questionable on applying pre-emerge this spring... you made my decision to not do so, a bit easier....

    weeds already all over lawn before temp reaches temps you say to apply pre emergents- what to do?

    • @GriffithLawnLabs
      @GriffithLawnLabs  Před 6 měsíci

      If you missed your pre-emergent window, then you're going to have to treat it with a post-emergent herbicide. It's going to depend on your grass type and what weeds you are trying to target to make a suggestion on what product(s) to use. If you're subscribed to my newsletter, you'll see all the products that I recommend for these situations, and if needed, we can dialogue more there too. Thanks for watching!

    Greetings from Nixa, Mo. Just found your channel and I just subscribed. Thank you for making this video. I'm in southwest Missouri and last fall I did some over seeding and applied fertilizer and Mesotrione to prevent weeds. I did get 75-80% of grass seeds to germinate. I'm planning on seeding again on the spots that I didn't get them to grow. What do you recommend that I do? Should I follow the advice that you just mentioned or should I repeat what I did in the fall? Thank you in advance.

    • @GriffithLawnLabs
      @GriffithLawnLabs  Před 6 měsíci

      Thanks for subscribing! Given that you're in Missouri, I'm assuming you're dealing with cool-season grass, which is typically best seeded in the fall or spring. You're on the right track with your timing.
      For the areas where you've seeded, I'd recommend holding off on applying any pre-emergent. This will give your new grass the best chance to establish itself without competing with the barrier that pre-emergents create against germination. As for the rest of the yard that's well established, it's fine to apply a pre-emergent.

    I’m in south Louisiana do you have an application calendar for weed type and chemicals to use. Also I have an infestation of the websod moth last fall 2023 and they destroyed 30 % of my front yard. Thank you.

    • @GriffithLawnLabs
      @GriffithLawnLabs  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Unfortunately, I have not had any experiences with those. I recommend putting down (Spectracide Triazicide Insect Killer amzn.to/3HNQDyW) which will take care of all the main insects that you're going to see. But, it looks like you can use something with Bifenthrin in it and it looks like this product will work for you (Talak 7.9 F Bifenthrin Insecticide amzn.to/4bRbrmC)
      I don't currently have a full application calendar that is available. I suggest signing up to my newsletter if you haven't already - it's where I send out monthly alerts on what products I am putting down on my lawn that month so you can follow my program that way. Here is a link to that for more information: griffithlawnlabs.substack.com/p/launching-an-exclusive-lawn-care
      Good luck with handling that situation, and I hope this helps!

    I need to re-seed my lawn. Would this prevent the grass seed from germinating?

    • @robertlamb4254
      @robertlamb4254 Před 6 měsíci

      The bag says I should wait until May to use this. Do you think my high fescue grass seed, which germinated in about 7 days, would be safe if I re -seeded in April?

    • @GriffithLawnLabs
      @GriffithLawnLabs  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yeah, it would most certainly impact the grass seed germination process. I would be hesitant to put any pre-emergent down until the grass has become fully established. I know that certain grasses like fescue can spring up quickly, but I would not want to ruin any chances of that seed taking root. You can spread the pre-emergent in the areas you haven't recently seeded the grass. Otherwise, you'd need to wait for the next opportunity.

    Just watched your video. Nice job. Wondering if you provide info for cool season lawns as I I am from PA with a tall fescue lawn? And another quick question ... spring aeration ... before pre-emergent or after pre-emergent?

    • @GriffithLawnLabs
      @GriffithLawnLabs  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thanks for watching and for your great questions! Anderson's Barricade is compatible with cool season grasses too. For spring aeration, timing is flexible. You can aerate either before or after applying pre-emergent, but I personally plan to aerate in April.
