I've been following this mod since before it released, it's by ex-Pixelmon devs that didn't like what the higher ups would and wouldn't let them do, and how they treat server owners. They wanna implement a lot more varied animations outside of battle and they use the Pokemon Showdown API for battles to combat basically fully works already.
Edit: I just remembered they are also basing the models off the 2D games because they don't like the 3D models and showed some examples as to why on Discord, and I am 100% onboard with that. Also keep in mind this mod is brand new, like it released to the public late last year iirc
It doesn't give all the moves by default because it's to allow you to easily swap out whatever moves you want on your Pokemon
I'm totally ok board with the art style as well and excited to see all the animation improvements in the future!

@@emperortoho I read it ages on a Pixelmon server that was advertising Cobble before it was out, seems the channel is gone now. From some digging elsewhere on the server apparently they were charging server owners for plugins but that's all I could find with a quick search.
From a quick search elsewhere on the internet I found out the really old versions of Pixelmon before Reforged had a backdoor that allowed remote server shutdowns and the the devs were threatening shutdowns on servers not complying with their rules.
I know there was a ton more shady stuff but the channel that had the info on it is gone now, it was letting the server know about Pixelmon and this mod and asking if they were all on board with jumping to the new mod later

I know this mod is pretty new but it already feels like it has so much more potential than the Pixelmon mod. I was fine with the smooth models but I didn't realize what I was missing until I saw the Cobblemon models. The animations for the models look so clean too. I assume the devs will probably be adding a lot of the stuff that Pixelmon offered, so I honestly might switch over if that happens.
pixelmon actually used to look like this way back when, I was so disappointed when they switched art direction
@@Bootypopper It did, but the models always looked a bit off. They were always gonna switch to smooth models. The cobblemon models look so crisp yet minecrafty
The move and evolution system seems to be inspired by Legends Arceus as opposed to the main games, where it told you the things were ready and then you had to initiate it
Edit: Also love that there’s fainting animations and PokéBall animations!!!

Cobblemon NEEDS this attention. Lately I've felt as though no one played Pixelmon unless they got a sponsorship or played on a server because it's just incompatible with vanilla, both visually and mechanically. Cobblemon looks like it's going to be the perfect Pokémon in Minecraft mod
The models of this mod look so good and fill me with nostalgia when Pixelmon had such blocky textures. Very excited for future updates.

I think it would be cool if the pokemon worked like actually minecraft mobs, like getting ender eye from duskull or using sableye to track ores, crafting hard materials with dreadnaw shell, making traps with houndstone, using magcargo to farm lava, giving bananas to rillaboom and make him play his drum só crops grow faster. So on
That sounds like an amazing idea I love it. Also I think it would be cool if some of the pokemon could be found in the separate dimension depending on they'r type, like being able to find extra fire type Pokemon in the nether and finding different dark type Pokemon in the end
When he killed the deerling around min 16:50 he got leather from it,so it may work like that already or the devs may go for that
This definitely sounds awesome, could also probably extend it in the future to work with more mods as well? I do think a pokemon-esque rpg-dungeon type sounds pretty cool to me.

I also do think some pokemons should be hostile lol, from my memory pokecube if you attacked them they'll actually attack and kill you
Finally, another Pixelmon-like mod that is minecraft friendly! I can't wait to play this with my friends on the weekend
I really like that the default mobs still spawn with this mod enabled! It'll make it a lot easier to get food-
They should add a config for that, I think it would make it more immersive without actual real mobs.
@@Steamgirled Yea that bugged me a bit, it might be frustrating in pixelmon but adds some difficulty :)
All the options for the pokémon are based on Pokémon Leyends Arceus, where you could teach any move by level to the pokémon whenever you want and decide when to make them evolve if they get the requirements to evolve.
i hope they add an evolution animation soon, and further down the road animated attacks would be nice but i can imagine that taking quite some time so i understand why they havent
This mod actually gives a proper purpose to copper other than niche things
Pokecube, this is my favorite pokemon in Minecraft Mod. It doesn't have as good of models as Cobble mon but they still fit in Minecraft. Also the battles aren't turn based, you pick moves and your pokemon runs around and uses them in real-time battles!! It's super cool and I think a bunch of people would like it
It’s kinda cool the digital space is gonna get so good, that in about 30 years we’ll have “sentient” Pokémon that we can join with nerve-gear.
I honestly don't think Governments would allow that kind of powerful technology to be used if its made in our lifetime unfortunately, and if so it'd be really expensive.
they actually explain why rapidash doesn't burn people when ridden in the anime--they can control the heat of their flames so it doesn't hurt you when you sit on them. yes, this also means they can set you on fire if they don't want you riding it
WHAAAAT this looks so good!! All of the Pokémon models are fantastic, they really got the perfect balance of Pokémon and Minecraft! Once they add battle animations and stuff, this is gonna be incredible. It’s already shaping up to be the best Pokémon mod for Minecraft by far in my opinion; I can’t wait to see how good it gets with a little more work!
I would love to try this mod. As i have been a big fan of Pixelmon,and this one is amazing giving the Pokemon a blockier model that fits the Minecraft world is awesome. I will say i wish they had more starter options than just Kanto like Pixelmon does.
Gen 3, 4, and 6 Starters are coming in the next update!

I've been watching you since your Pokemon black 2 walkthrough, this is my first comment but I discovered you when I needed help with finding that herdier in black 2. And eventually you helped me through a lot of the story. I'm replaying black 2 and using your walkthroughs to guide me, just finished the 8th gym. 😂
This was literally the one complaint I’ve had with pixelmon as of recently I’ve watched so many pixelmon series including your old ones and AWheavy’s pixelmon story adventure and they both had the old models and it feels so nostalgic to look back on it’s what I grew up with and at least to me pixelmon was always about Pokémon in minecraft a game with blocks and watching the Pokémon become more and more like their in game models took that magic away it became more about playing an open world Pokémon game which is wonderful but I feel like it takes away from the name, pixelmon, when I think about pixelmon I think about the time they were made out of blocks and looked like they fit in the world they were put into if this mod plans to bring all the Pokémon Into minecraft then the long wait for something like this to come back was worth the wait thank you for bringing this mod to light or else I wouldn’t know that this was exactly what I wanted
This reminds me of the old mod Pokemobs but better. I am so excited to see more of this
with a little more feedback in battle, this could easily become one of my favourite Pokemon fan-projects full stop

I always wished that I could make a zoo but with pokemon, I love making zoos in Minecraft and with this mod, I really hope I could do that, like the Pokemon in your PC live in a pen and you can physically move them around and build your own pen for them to live in. Each box would be a different pen
this seems very promising! I hope this becomes a legitimate contender to pixelmon.

Thanks for letting me know this exist, I tried with Pixelmon recently and it just looked so bad with them all being higher quality models, plus there were just tons and tons of Pokemon just spawning everywhere all the time. Was a bad experience.
And it sucks that you can't even hurt the Pokemon anymore in Pixelmon, I used to love murdering them as a teen.

A small tip, the battle chat can be expanded with the little arrow thing on its bottom right, makes it a bit easier to read

Conceptually, I genuinely like this more than Pixelmon. It just need a tad more polish and it'd be perfect. :)
That being said, I imagine it would feel really weird to play this mod in an otherwise regular survival world since the two gameplay styles are so disconnected. Now if you could fight monsters with your Pokémon, *THAT* would be another story-
I actually got this mod yesterday
I personally like it more than the main pixelmon mod because it runs much smoother on my computer, is more updated, it feels more balanced imo and doesn't just have level 110 bosses everywhere

I'm gonna save up for a desktop just because of this mod. I remember playing Pixelmon on my grandma's old pc but getting disappointed that the art direction went into a HD route. Glad this mod is capturing the old charm of that and I hope I can play it soon

2:46 Legends Arceus style move management . In that system a Pokémon of course can only have 4 moves at a time but they never actually forget the moves they have a menu like summary outside of battle you can switch out individual moves you Pokémon has learned or could learn that’s just built in . And of course with violet and scarlet they opted for yet another system with the gathering resources to craft tms out in the wild . If I’m incorrect on any of this feel free to correct me

If there's something that bothers me about pixelmon, it's those spheres in the middle of a square game, and this mod really gives a feeling that it's something from minecraft, the only thing I didn't like about the mod was how easy it is to get things , like the healer, the pc and the pokeballs. And great video man

PLEASE make a video of how to install the mod together with the biomes and perhaps the shaders. I’ve been trying to get it to work for the past few hours but I can’t get it figured out. There are also no tutorials on CZcams yet that go over installing this mod together with the biomes so it would be a great help!
These 2 mods are like any other, download them, and follow any tutorial to install mods, just remember this is for Java edition, and make sure you have the right versions

I downloaded cobblemon and the extra biome mod (fabric). when I tried running the game with those mods it told me I need a bunch of extra mods to actually run it. Once I found all those mods I got the game to load and at first everything looks fine, until I start loading new chunks, The game just completely freezes up until it crashes so I’m obviously doing something wrong. I’d like to add that my laptop can pretty much run any high end game so that isn’t the problem.

@@aer2648 I'm just using the normal minecraft launcher and just added everything to the mod folder. Would you happen to know how to give it more ram? I know how to do it in the technic launcher but not in the official minecraft one.
@@TrialLegend on the profile there's a more options thingy where there is Java arguments.
There's a bunch of code but you're looking for the part that says "2Xx" or something you change the 2 to a 4 and save the profile and use it

What you found (The tower) was a pillager outpost, a structure from the base game. They start raids on the villages and the reason they had an iron golem was because they kidnapped it.

If you are on PC, you DO have java. For a while now all owners of minecraft have been given access to both versions on PC.

I didn't actually know you actually played Pixelmon. I never played it on my old computer since I don't have a Microsoft account but I did play the regular Minecraft on my switch.
I like the Pokemon design on pixelmon but I thought it would look better in Minecrafts design. And what do you know! This looks amazing, thanks for the video showcasing this.
